Some Clown over on WRX was posting about the Evenroll Putter review you guys did. Said your report seemed like you were being paid to give a positive review. Now I was just surfing and ran up on it this morning. It was posted back in September. Now this guy claimed that he reads MGS and was a donator. This was in the Evenroll Putter thread in the putter section.

 

I set the SOB straight because frankly he pissed me off even suggesting that. I may get a time out from the marshalls for it but I do not care. If I get a time out over this then I will never go back over there even though I have a lot of friends there.

 

Just wanted Adam and you guys to know what was going on and of course I stood up for us over here!!

I don't see standing up for your forum as necessarily a bad thing...   Hell I would do it too and everybody knows sometimes a product is just that good. It may look like the majority is pumping it up but hey, it actually could be performing that well.  Anyways from what I've seen here the reviews are as non biased as they come.  Good on you partner.

I wouldn't get too hung up on what anything someone writes on a forum - golf forums especially!

If I had a penny for every time someone posted something plain wrong or anything that ticked me off online, then I'd probably retire and live on an island with the profits.

It is always difficult to assess the truth from the dross, particularly when anyone gives a gushing review about anything - and this is precisely why I always encourage anyone to go out and try for themselves at every opportunity. Sure, some reviews are a useful heads up on buying golf equipment, but when you think about it, how many negative "don't buy this" reviews do you actually see? I'm guessing not many.

Hence anything that is written about anything is opinion - and open to personal interpretation. 

Except anything I write of course  :D

I actually got a couple of likes over there on that. I thought I may have gotten a time out over that because they can be funny about things over there depends on who you are. It aint nothing like over here where you can pretty much say anything within moral guidelines of course.

I read your post and liked it.  Certainly no reason for a timeout all you did was set them straight on the misguided thought that it had to be a paid article.

Yep you gave me a like over there too. You do like I do use the same screen name over there too! Yep I thought I did a pretty good job of keeping my lid on and telling it like it is. My old buddy Henry Jones would have liked it, back in the day he had to keep me on a leash because he was my boss.

 

Henry gave me the definition of tact one day as in; The ability to tell a man to go to hell in a way that he would be looking forward to making the trip!

yep same name both places.   I had a different on THP (explained in the instagram thread) I'm too old to try and remember all my alias's  LOL

 

You did, based on your post here before I read your GolfWrx one, I was prepared to see something much worst.  But you kept it straight, simple and professional.!! 

 

I have to say I read the EVNROLL before I was even selected as a tester, but I had already read enough reviews and blogs on MGS to know it doesn't put out fluff pieces or things that aren't accurate.   So It really impressed me to read about it.    Then to be selected as a tester, was a exciting.   And my review will be 100% honest thoughts of what I think of the putter, good, bad or indifferent.

Yep that is one of the reasons I only apply for products  I know I will actually use or consider using. That way if I halfway like it before testing I can be objective. The only 2 products I have tested for with MGS were the Renegar wedges ( I am a wedge ho anyhow) and I still rotate them in and out depending on the course I am playing and the Nexus Rangefinder which is jam up good especially in the price range it sells for. 

 

One example of one test I did not apply for was the Ping Crossover because I am not a hybrid man to begin with and I knew I would not be objective from the start. IMHO that would not be fair to another member who may really like it and need it or to Ping either. 

 

That is one of the things I like about this site besides the staff and people honest no BS testing.

I wouldn't' say never.  But I do limit the threads that i go into over there.  I think every golf forum has it's own niche and offers things that keep people loyal to it.   But I really think we've got the best of all worlds right here on MGS.  So that's where I spend most of my golf interwebz time  :D

I went over to give Big Stu a like on his post.  I have been a member over there for years but very inactive, I think I was too old and not a good enough golfer to ever fit in there, not much in the way of reaching out to a new member when I was a noob.
