2016 has been an 'active' year of golf for me. As such, I recently decided to write out the clubs, shafts and bags I've gone through this year. Everything in bold is what is currently in my bag, and can also be seen in my WIYB thread . What can I say? I like golf gear!

I'm fortunate to have been able to buy some of the used stuff fro Hicksta, lol. Good times! My new new T7 Blue wedge just came in too!

I think I am the resident club ho here still but I have a lot of older stuff. For example I have over 100 wedges of various vintages. I have right about 75 putters of various vintages. I do know I have about 50 persimmon drivers. Now the complete iron hoard has thinned some. I just have 11 sets ranging from a set of 1940 Armours to a set of 2013 Callaway X forged. I have stuff in 3 different locations the front bedroom , my shop out back and a rental unit across the road

 

This is just some of the stuff there is more in the back and this has grown since this photo was taken

 

You may have me in the bag department-- I was also thinking just now I am thinking I have close to 15 metal drivers.

 

Most think I have a lot of stuff but there are guys that I can not hold a candle to over on WRX. Here on MGS I have always claimed the title of resident club ho but I am glad to see someone else getting close. Actually I have too much stuff

I've bought 4 clubs in the past year (nowhere near the number you've bought, but still a lot for me).

 

The first 2 clubs were my 56 & 60 degree MD2 wedges which I bought in late December to replace my old Cleveland CG16s (not as spinny as the new ones). Personally, I don't see this as me being a club ho, but just a needed update.

 

The third club was my Callaway Apex 3 Hybrid. I bought this in early January on a whim during a demo day at a driving range near my old house. It took me a while to get used to the much stiffer shaft, but it's an extremely reliable club for me now.

 

The 4th club was only bought a few weeks ago, my Titliest 915 D3. I had my eyes on this driver for the previous 4 months, just waiting for the price to drop to a reasonable level. The one I had pinned my hopes and dreams on was purchased by some bloke during a corporate day - hearing this made my heart sink and nearly brought me to tears. Luckily, I had a hunch that there was another one for sale at a pro shop about 45 minute drive from my house - which paid off handsomely. 

 

I believe that it's healthy to become a club ho every now and again. It helps to refresh your bag and your skills. With both my old hybrid and driver, I was over-drawing and hooking nearly every shot - the stiffer shafts in the new clubs helped to alleviate that problem. And my wedges hold more greens than my old ones could. I might be replacing my 52 degree wedge in the near future, merely because the grooves are wearing out on it fast.

The two clubs that are always in serious danger are the driver and the putter. I'm never happy with the putter, but I actually really like the XR16 Sub Zero driver so far, but Callaway has some EPIC changes coming in January that may sway me in a new direction. I'm also sure that I missed a club above, but I've bought way too many things this last year, but I've also learned a ridiculous amount about my swing and what type of woods and irons suit me best. I still have no idea on the putter, but some day I'll come to my senses and get fitted for one.

yeah, you are the long standing club ho champ of here and probably any place outside of Arnold Palmer's workshop (if you saw the pictures of that making the rounds a couple months back) 

I see that Cleveland Bag.  I had the same one about 10 years or so ago I believe.  Was one of my all time favorite bags, it's one of the few that I actually used until it wore out.

That's a solid collection! See, I don't keep any extra stuff around. I literally only have what is in my bag so I don't get distracted, lol.

Yeah buddy, I can appreciate that turnover! I hear you on the ball battle, too. I was trying a few different ones, but settled on the Chrome Soft, and will switch to the Chrome Soft X when it's released. Oh and I'm all aboard the Epic train when that bad boy drops!
