Have you ever.......

While I know that I am in the Senior Division of this great golf group, I sometimes wonder exactly how senior I may be.   So permit me to inquiry, how many here have ever.....

played with a persimmon driver and fairway woods

used clubs and balls made by Spalding

thought  Callaways were different because the shaft went though the club head

got to the course early to put a ball in the rack for a tee time

watched the LPGA to see Laura Baugh and Jan Stephenson

wore shoes with kilties

wore shoes with medal spikes and enjoyed the sound of the click on hard surfaces

used a 3 wheeled motorized cart steered with a flat handle as opposed to a wheel

wore beltless pants some with a slight flair at the bottom

never thought about forged versus cast

didn't use a hybid because no one was making them

Depending on how many you can answer yes, I will meet you on the senior tees.

There is a flaw in your logic.  I am pretty sure I am older than you, but I am relatively new to the game.  So, how many "yes" answers does it take to play golf with you??  Do I qualify?

Its a question of what tees I must now play.   It would be my honor to play golf with you any time and you should play what ever tees you wish.   But if you are older than me and can play the longer tees, I will be jealous.

It all depends on the yardage for the longer tees.  I am not sure what you call senior tees, but I'm sure I would be happy playing there.

While I know that I am in the Senior Division of this great golf group, I sometimes wonder exactly how senior I may be.   So permit me to inquiry, how many here have ever.....

played with a persimmon driver and fairway woods  yes, I still have my Cleveland Classics

used clubs and balls made by Spalding  no

thought  Callaways were different because the shaft went though the club head  no, I never really noticed

got to the course early to put a ball in the rack for a tee time  yes

watched the LPGA to see Laura Baugh and Jan Stephenson  oh yes!

wore shoes with kilties  yes

wore shoes with medal spikes and enjoyed the sound of the click on hard surfaces  yes, and I still like the clack of clubs in a bag while walking and carrying

used a 3 wheeled motorized cart steered with a flat handle as opposed to a wheel  yes, the roll-over special design

wore beltless pants some with a slight flair at the bottom  no

never thought about forged versus cast  the were all forged back then

didn't use a hybid because no one was making them  yup

Depending on how many you can answer yes, I will meet you on the senior tees.

So my only two "no" answers were Spalding clubs (my first clubs were Sam Snead Blue Ridge, made by Wilson), and beltless pants (never wore them, although I did wear flared pants in the 70's).  I'm turning 61 in just a couple of weeks, and still playing the regular men's tees.

Thanks for correcting my misspelling, another senior moment I missed it entirely.    While you may have some time before qualifying for the senior division, believe me when I say you will find a certain joy and appreciation for making it.   Getting there ain't for sissies.

used a 3 wheeled motorized cart steered with a flat handle as opposed to a wheel Nope, but certainly used the old style 3 wheel'd push carts

wore beltless pants some with a slight flair at the bottom I refuse to answer this on the grounds that I may incriminate myself.

never thought about forged versus cast There was a time there was no choce!

didn't use a hybid because no one was making them Remember the time, I out-drove you with my 2 Iron.....You're reply was one of the funniest things I' had heard.

While I know that I am in the Senior Division of this great golf group, I sometimes wonder exactly how senior I may be. So permit me to inquiry, how many here have ever.....

played with a persimmon driver and fairway woods. YES

used clubs and balls made by Spalding YES a 2 iron still in my garage

thought Callaways were different because the shaft went though the club head. Never thought about it

got to the course early to put a ball in the rack for a tee time. YES

watched the LPGA to see Laura Baugh and Jan Stephenson. YES loved Jan

wore shoes with kilties. YES they actually kept dirt out of laces

wore shoes with medal spikes and enjoyed the sound of the click on hard surfaces. YES and can still remember the sound

used a 3 wheeled motorized cart steered with a flat handle as opposed to a wheel YES very easy to flip

wore beltless pants some with a slight flair at the bottom. YES Sansabelt baby!

never thought about forged versus cast. YES

didn't use a hybid because no one was making them YES

Depending on how many you can answer yes, I will meet you on the senior tees.

I got YES on all but one....so I guess I am an old fart
