I constantly think about whether I should or shouldn't wear a glove when chipping.. I where a glove for all long game shots and pitches but cannot decide whether to wear it for bunker shots and chips.
When do you wear a glove and what would your advice be?
Thanks

Wear it on full shots. Chipping, pitching, putting, feel shots in other words, no.

I stopped wearing a glove a couple years ago. I don't have any need for it. I play corded grips that give me all the traction I need.

How can you get away with that, with the humidity we have in the midwest? I know I'm 8 hours south of you, but still. I play cords and I would need pine tar to keep my hands on the grip.

I wear a glove on all shots that require more than a half swing.

I try to take off my gloves when putting, but sometimes I just forget... sometimes I'm just lazy!

I wear gloves to avoid corns and calluses on my left hand, not for traction :D

I wish I could find a glove that would help on this. I doesn't bother me until bowling season, when my finger won't fit in the ball.

This is after cutting and filing it down.

It doesn't hurt at all. I have an interlock grip and it's where my knuckles rub together. It doesn't help that I hit about 2000 balls a week.

Nope. Gave up wearing one about 2 years ago and haven't looked back.

I have an interlock grip as well, but my calluses form where the hand touches the grip.
That's why you are a 6 HCP and I'm still a 25 :D I think I hit a max of 500 balls week (including rounds and range) I should practice more :D

With mild arthritis, I started wearing the Bionic glove. it has extra pads in the joints that help your grip so you don't ache as much. it was developed by an Orthodox Dr.

I do not putt with a glove.

I stopped wearing gloves on short shots and have been thinking, minus the really wet and humid days, of not wearing one at all, but haven't done it yet.

I wear one for all full shots, and sometimes all the time depending on the heat. Chipping and putting with a glove on doesn't bother me at all, but when its really hot I take the glove off when I chip and put and put a different one on before the next tee shot.

I wear one on all my full shots. I dont wear one on feel shots such a greenside bunkers chip shots flop shots and definetly not putting. It gets so hot and humid down here in the sumer combined with the fact that I sweat like a prostitute in a church that I usually rotate out 4 or 5 gloves during a round. I keep them hanging on the cart post for the top and rotate them every shot that I use a glove on.

barbajo  You'd think a fantasy team with Webb Simpson, Rory, Hunter, Graeme McDowell & Louis Ousthauizen would do some serious damage at the Player's. Well, they did, but not the kind of damage you want...
