To all spyers,

I have a pretty straight forward question. Does anyone know what the tip size is for the Adams Cb2, I just got a used set from my buddy. The only problem is he plays regular shafts and my swing speed is for a stiff+(6.5) I can't find any data on the net, and I was hoping a spyer might know.

If any way possible please say .355, I want the KBS tour nickels!!!!!!

You can buy Adams CB2 with KBS Tour Nickels already in them so one has to assume that they are the same size. Of course, you could measure the existing shaft if you had calipers but if you had calipers availible than you would probably have measured them already.

The CB2's are .370 parallel, the CB1's are .355 tapers. I had a combo set and didn't know this until the heads got here. I ended up shimming .355's into the CB2 heads so the shaft set was easier to match and purchase. Absolutely nothing wrong with using shims as long as you prep everything properly. I prefer to also use glass beads when using them as well. I am 100% positive of the tip sizes.

You could also call Adams golf if you don't believe it, or Sellinger's golf as well, as they are one of the larger Adams dealers around. I can assure you, however, that these are .370 tip hosels.

My CB2/CB1 combos are in the first post in this thread, and I did the build: http://forum.mygolfs...d-in-last-post/ They're long gone, but I still have the build sheet for them.

So, these are .370 parallel. I came into the shop this AM and tore one apart, and RookieBlue is correct. When I measured the shaft diameter yesterday, it came in a little under .370 above the ferrule, which typically means .355 taper. My mistake. We had never had a set of these torn apart before. Sorry.

thanks for all the good info guys. I did email Adams about the size, just haven't heard back yet. In WV its abnormally warm and got some range time today. Even though it has been a couple of weeks since I swung a club it didn't take me long to get warmed up. I got these of my buddy thinking that it could be a good transition from my 09 burners to a forged more workable club. Unfortunately I was wrong. I like to work the club from about 150 yards and in, and I can only works these as much as I can work my 09 burners.

Does anyone have any opinions of a great club for this. Like I said I live in WV and there is not a good place to get fitted to OEM clubs, and most demo days are in midwest KY or central OH.

I am either thinking of Adams CB 1 or Mizuno MP 58, or will these be more of the same? I don't think I am ready for Adams MB 2 or mizuno's MP 69 which is a full blade. Even though I would love to have the MB 2's!!!!!

IMO, The CB2s are very close to the Burner 09 irons in terms of forgiveness/workability. To make a golf club more "workable" the cg has to be closer to the face of the club, and the MOI has to be lower.... All hallmarks of blade clubs. The CB2s are basically a forgiving forged club. The forging makes it softer feeling, not more workable. Depending on how high you hit the ball, and how consistent you are, there are plenty of options out there that are not "blades" but still plenty workable. Some more info would help me select some candidates. Current handicap, current ballflight, desired ballflight, how much you play and practice...

OK answers:

Consistency - pretty good I know exactly how far I'm going to hit the ball

Both of these sets came with high launch shafts and I would like a low to mid ball flight

Handi cap - 13-15 have made big improvements last season

Practice/play - 1 or 2 times a week
