It's a very rough material that I expect (don't know, didn't try them) should give tons of traction. The cool thing is that the "pad" of sandpaper-type material can be swapped out just like you change spikes. The bigger selling point of the shoe is the weight. Oakley claims that it's the lightest golf shoe on the market. We're hoping to do a full review in the coming months. If they come in non-clown car colors and those soles bite on slick turf and dirt, I'd definitely give them a whirl.
