Not too long ago TaylorMade changed it's Twitter handle from @TaylorMadeGC to @TaylorMadeGolf. The move was done to better align their various brands on Twitter. As is often the case with TM, it turned out to be an excellent marketing opportunity as well. To promote the change, they sent out some new Penta TP5s marked with the new Twitter handle.

Like many of you I love the original Penta, so I'm looking forward to getting the new ones out on the course. I'm told the Penta TP3 is the spinnier of the two Penta models, which makes it ideal for GolfSpy Tim, but less than ideal for your's truly. Obviously I can't personally speak to the performance yet, but my daughter seems to really like the new ball.

There are probably more pics here than there needs to be, but white on white is fun to mess with.

I'm excited to try a lesser spinning Penta.

I was about to start a new post, but it seems fitting to ask my question on this one. Is there any plans to do a golf ball review/comparison soon? Most of the models are already sneaking out onto the market and I'd like to see what info you might have on them. I've been playing the Penta but was curious to see what else is coming out.

We definitely need to figure something out. I've got a couple of ideas, but ideally we'd be able to do some launch monitor testing as well.

The new Pentas look promising. The same is absolutely true of the updated Bridgestone lineup. I also played the better part of 2 rounds with Callaway's new HX Black while at the show, and it performed very well for me.

While the club lineups look good enough, 2012 could be the year of the golf ball.

I agree with T, we need to get something going on golf balls this year, because it will be a huge year for new golf balls. I was just saying to someone at the PGA Show that this is an awesome time to be a golfer, as far as balls go: multiple companies are going to be releasing balls equivalent to the Pro V1 for $25-$35. Hopefully we will be able to put something together as we head into spring.

I can guarantee right now, that you will not find a better ball than the MG Tour C4 for under $30, let alone at their price of $21.99.

They're illegal to use in a tournament, but good quality refinished balls are the cheapest options. You can 2010 Pro V1s in bulk for less than $20 a dozen. I have the MG C4, refinished Pro V1s, and refinished B330RX balls. The Pro V1s are my favorite, but someday I'll go to a launch monitor to do a better comparison.

I had a sleeve...can't say I got enough swings to form a full opinion. I was sent two sleeves, but UPS apparently had a grizzly in the truck and the box they were in got mangled and the 3 yellow balls got lost along the way.

Off topic...the more I deal with UPS, the more I like FedEx.

another vote for fedex ;-)

I wanna try these new TaylorMade balls, but dunno if I wanna pay the price knowing how often I manage to hide balls from myself while on the course

I've tried them all and while I couldn't find one that I loved with the short irons/greenside, I will say that the Pinky is BY FAR the longest ball I have ever hit. I would definitely like to see the Pinky put to the test, distance wise.
