Just got some shiny new eggs and while I haven't had a chance to get them in play, (thank you Ohio weather for dropping some snow on us this morning)I am at least gonna share a couple pics. Seeing as the weather around here is as erratic as me with a 1 iron I may not get to post some thoughts for a while. As soon as I do I'll let everyone know.

Forgot to mention, the HBT's are out of a launch pack from the company and that's why the sleeve looks a little strange. And for those who have their doubts seeing as these don't hit the market for a little bit, they are 100% authentic.

1 of the members at my club got a sleeve of the Hex Black sent through it will be interesting to hear your feedback compared to his, as I have heard some good things about these balls, including that Titleist research showed the Callaway ball to be better than the Pro V1. A source at Titleist leaked the evidence to a friend of mine at Callaway.

Of course he is paid to do so, but Phil credited the New Hex Black with his win on Sunday. He said he had an advantage because "my new Hex Black really bored through the wind" better than any ball I have ever seen.

Callaway really gets their money's worth from Phil. Every time he wins it's something about his Callaway _____ doing such a great job.

Played with a hex black a couple of times. Very nice ball. Should be in any tour ball conversation. Looking to try the chrome too when I can get some.

I played the HEX Black during the two round GolfSpy Tim and I played Tuesday before the PGA show. If not for fatting my tee shot on a par 3 with a water carry I'd still have the original ball. Anyway...hard to say too much conclusively, but performance was solid, and durability was absolutely outstanding.

The only knock I have on it so far is that it doesn't float. Haven't tried the Chrome, and I probably won't. If I'm reading it right, it would spin way too much for me.

This is why I originally stopped playing Callaway balls. I loved the performance I got from them, but I hated their durabiliy; I would literally have to throw them out after 3 holes. I'll have to give these a try.

I apologize for taking so long since starting this thread to getting a review up. Finally got to play this week. Ohio weather ranges from unpredictable at best. Got in 9 holes hitting the Hex Black and Hex Chrome. Still a little early in the season so I wasn't expecting the best out of the HBT in the slightly cooler weather but overall I was happy hitting both.
Hex Black
Solid performer off the tee, great spin off the wedges, fantastic off the middle irons. If every hole was a nice par 3 I could hit 6 or 7 iron into this would be my first choice. As with previous Cally balls I was a little worried about durability. The paint started to wear and there were a couple marks at the peaks of the dimples where the cover started to wear but nowhere near as bad as the the damage I've seen show up on some of their earlier tour balls. Only had time for 9 so I can't say how it would really hold up for the long haul.
Hex Chrome
Ok, this one may find its way into the bag a couple more times throughout the spring. Solid performer all around. I'd like to say I had one major complaint to point out. Dice drop and stop or one hop feel off the wedges. Nice feel off all the irons. Good distance off the tee. I wasn't overly wowed but I wasn't underwhelmed either. At $36 per doz its still $12 cheaper than the ProV1.
Hopefully I can get in a full round soon and get a better idea of what I can expect from both.

Or compare them head to head with the TP5 and TP3
They seem to have the exact same characteristics, so for me it will all boil down to durability and price (assuming they perform similarly)

That's not a bad idea either... I've been playing the previous generation Pentas for the past couple years.(loaded up last fall when they were buy 2 get one free). I'd say the Black and the older Penta have a lot of the same characteristics at least at first glance. I'm getting the sinking feeling that this is going to turn into a season long test.

I believe the old Penta was replaced by the TP5 which has the same characteristics as the HEX Black
And the TP3, HEX Chrome should be there with the rest of the 3-piece premium balls

At a lower price, if those can outperform the Pro V1's... byebye Titleist!

I played the Chrome yesterday.

Really good ball off the tee, seemed to gain a few extra yards with it. With the irons didn't have any problems. The greens we were playing had been punched about a week and a half ago, so they still had lots of sand, so no report on the reaction on the green.

Really looking forward to playing this ball again.

It says its for the moderate swing speed, and thart suits my game perfectly.
