There's not a better word for it. The worst part is that he has him convinced that it will/can work. He should go cowering back to Butch.

What I don't understand is right after his win @ Arnold's Bay Hill, everyone was talking as though he was "back," at least swing wise...He, himself, spoke of his swing rounding into form in New Zealand @ the President's Cup & he just sharpened it leading up to his victory in his tournament in December...Then he wins in Orlando & all's good..He then goes out & basically craps out @ Augusta then follows up with the debacle this past week-end(I'm sorry, Thurs-Fri, he didn't make the week-end) & now everyone's talking as though he's totally lost..It's like he takes 2-3 steps forward & 7-8 backwards...

I've read both Haney's book & Harmon's, "The Pro," which while it's a tribute to his father, Claude, past Mater's champion, also has a good bit on his time spent with Tiger, & the one thing that both men had in common is that they also were part-time shrinks for tiger...Maybe that's the part that's missing in his relationshio with Foley..

I'm sorry, however a little sawed off 5'-nothin guy running around with a skin tight golf shirt on & that stupid video cam strapped across his chest hardly inspire confidence..Another thing Haney & Harmon have in common is that they never take a video camera to a tournament, much less onto the course..Fairways & Greens 4ever....

LOL, fubar is a good one, +1.

I have kind of watched Tiger over the years and Tiger 2000 was the best, most efficient, powerful golf swing. I mean his weight was a little off on the balls of his feet rather then the heels (left knee and achieves injuries) it's easier to support on the left heel the weight and rotation through impact into the finish.

Tiger's famous head dip is not from losing spin angle or anything like that, it is from the massive sit / squat move he makes as the first move in his down swing. Knees flex a lot more and weight shifts to the left side while the club is traveling backwards still that generates a huge amount of energy and imitates the lag. Now I might agree with some that the head moves to far down and away from the target at 3-5" I'd probably like to see 1-2" but all big hitters have some viraty of squat and head dip. Take a look at Rory Mcllroy swing, about 2" head dip not as noticeable as Tiger but it happens.

I found a pretty interesting video from the RST people that I wrote a review on.

I didn't know that height of someone or their physical appearance meant anything in golf? If they know what they are talking about knowledge is more powerful to inspiring confidence. But I agree Foley looks like a nerd with his attire :)

I think if we are looking for other lines or words then fubar, lacking natural tendencies in would be the fill in the blank, Tiger just seems to be fighting what his natural talent has given him.

I just saw that Tiger is +1 through 3 holes at the players. At what point do you say this just is not working. It must be extremely difficult it you win twice, and December was a win, but when you miss cuts like normal people than you have to wonder maybe this is not the right way to go.

I posted this in a different topic in the Sawgrass topic but related to his golf swing and being 'unnatural'.

Using video on the practice tee away from a tournament is fine...My point was if you are at a tournament & you're using video, that means you're working on mechanics...If you're working on mechanics at a tournament, you're in trouble...I don't care if you're an amateur, pro or Tiger...There's golf & then there's tournament golf...If swing thoughts are in your mind at a tournament, you're cooked...Even Tiger...There's a reason that Haney, Harmon, Leadbetter & Mike Bender don't bring video cameras to their players' tournaments...

Maybe he is just taking pictures for his scrap book, because based on how Tiger has improved over the last two years, Sean needs to be unemployed. However, Tiger is probably telling Sean what he want to do. Tiger does not seem to be one to listen to anyone else.

+1...Though Mahan is off to a career year, Tiger has to be causing Foley sleepless nights..Your point about Tiger being slightly recalcitrant was brought up in Haney's book though Harmon made it sound like Tiger was the "perfect" student...Part of that, if it's accurate, could be that Harmon had Tiger as a teenager into his early 20's so the arrogance was not running full bore then..

Also, one thing that I'll give Haney is that he seems very up front & honest in his descriptions of Tiger & their interactions together...Many of them don't make Haney look that confident, as you would expect a world class teacher to be...

Harmon seems to have an ego to rival Tiger's, and apparently that was one of the problems that Tiger(and Earl) had with Butch...Fairways & Greens 4ever...
