Tried my boss's RBZ 3-wood, tour edition yesterday -- all I can say is WOW! Ball flew off the face hot and was giving me 225-235 off the deck. That's a tad longer than what I'm getting now - but I liked the ball flight and it seemed pretty easy to hit. Tried it once off the tee and sliced it into the drink -- told him his club was a piece of junk -- but WOW!

All in all, don't think it's enough to prompt me to dump my Titleist 910 3-wood out of the bag, but for a while I sure was thinking about it - white head an all!

Also, got my RBZ 5 iron about a week and a half ago and have practiced with it -- easy to hit, forgiving, but distance-wise not sure what it would replace in my bag. It's kind of in between my 5 iron and 4 hybrid - nice stick but it just doesn't fit.
What's in the bag:

Driver: TaylorMade R1, RIP Phenom 55 Gram shaft, stiff
FW Wood: Ping i20 15*, Project X Black shaft, 6.0
Weszty F-B-R 15*, Penley GT-85 shaft, stiff
Hybrids: Cleveland Mashie M3, M4, Talamonti H-100 shafts, stiff
Hogan Edge 17*, Excaliber HY shaft, stiff
Weszty FSF 19*, 23*, Penley Driving Iron shafts, stiff
Irons: Mizuno MP-59 5-PW, PX 5.5 shafts
Wedges: Too many to count - Solus RD 4.1 51*,Cobra Trusty Rusty 51*, Carnaham 52*, Hogan 5410 54*, Scratch 8620 58*, Taylormade ZTP 58*
Putter: Coutour "Gullane" 365 gram head, 32" shaft

Personally I'd trade my RBZ 3-wood for a Titleist 910F, I just like the look of the Titleist better and I'm a sucker for the adjustable hosel.

The rap that we give the RBZ on this site is that while it may not live up to it's billing of 17 yards longer than whatever you use, I think I found it 3 or 4 yards longer, it is still a great and forgiving club. I did not try the tour addition, but the other was too closed for me at address. But I will say something I have never said about it before. The difference between a well struck 3 wood and a poorly struck 3 wood can be much more than 17 yards. Maybe 117 yards, or from my personal experience 200 yards different. All of which is why I leave the 3 wood home in the air conditioning and have a 14* hybrid.

AND you can check with Taylormade and they will tell you that the RBZ 5 iron you have will fit very nicely between the RBZ 4 and 6 irons so the problem is with the rest of your set, not their 5 iron.:D

I was absolutely killing and RBZ 17* on the range last weekend. Seriously hitting it almost as far as my driver! I wasn't fooled though. I did the same thing with the Burner 2 3 wood, hit it so well I dumped my 15* hybrid and took it on a golf trip where it went everywhere but where I was aiming it! 3-woods are range toys only for me!

The RBZ was 20yds longer than my Cobra SS, but the Cobra is also 10 years old. It's only a few yards longer than my new Wishon 929hs, but it's a hell of a lot uglier. This 929 is the real deal, easiest 3W to work........EVER. Hit one of my best shots ever with it yesterday; I had 245 into a par 5 and had to hit a 30yd fade around a tree, hit it directly over the pin and had 20' for eagle. Next year all woods/hybrids in the bag will be Wishon.

How long is your 929 shaft vs. the RBZ? The RBZ has a 43.5" shaft and if you made your 929 43" then that could account for those extra few yards.

I'm actually right in between at 43.25"; I made it that long only because I mainly use it off the tee, I choke down about an 1" if I'm hitting it from the fairway. It's not as light as the RBZ either, so I'm not quite getting the SS I was with the RBZ, but the flight is much better.

Yeah I think they use a 45 gram shaft in the standard RBZ which is insanely light for a FW wood!

Well, my grand experiment using the RBZ 3i in place of my Mizuno 3i/Mizuno Fli Hi 21* came to an unglorified end...A flatter swing due to multiple shoulder surgeries, left me w/a flatter swing and my Mizzy 3i was not getting the height nor distance that it should so I went to a Fli Hi & all was good...

Then I hit the RBZ 3i...It was high & it filled my 3i gap, though I had to alter my stance to compensate for for the off-set...So I had it bent..I know they say you're not supposed to, however an asst. pro @ the club said no problem...

Well, for the past three weeks, there were no problems...Great club...Then yesterday, on the par 3 that I spoke of in my RBZ thread, a 227 yd slight downhill(though yesterday it was playing 219 yds) hole, I came through impact & it sounded like a frickin gunshot...The ball went about 45* hard right & the RBZ head just missed my caddy, who was slightly in front of me & about 10-12' to my right...It snapped @ the neck.....

I was -1 @ the time(thru 5) & I was in the pine trees...I punched out & laid a wedge on & 2 putted for a double...I ended up +2 for the nine, but it took me three holes to get it out of my mind..I gotta work on getting pissed, cuz that was just a fluke...I mean what the hell, it's not like I cranked a shot into the trees with a bad swing..lol...

Anyway, I still think that the RBZs are excellent clubs, It's just that they're are made for a certain player profile, & I'm not willing to alter my swing/set-up to compensate for the offset...Fairways & Greens 4ever........

I can't hit that RBZ 5i for spit. It is so ugly to look at. I've got to get something to fill the gap between my 18* hybrid and my 4i; that gap is about 230-205 and is really being exposed with the windy conditions we've had all spring. I'm thinking about going with a 21* or 22* hybrid.

I had the exact same experience. I just hate to look at the RBZ 5i and everything is a pull or hook. I'm tempted to add a 4i to my bag and take out my gap wedge. My 5i - 4h gap kills me on the par 3s for 180-185 yards.

You know, I've been annoyed at this line since it was released. I tried my hand at the driver, fairway and irons and didn't enjoy any of the above but for some reason I skipped over the hybrids. I'll be fishcaked if those Tour hybrids aren't rather good. I've been especially impressed with the Tour 2 hybrid as a tee club or a more user friendly (for me anyways) 5 wood replacement.

Wither either the Altus or that stock Reax it hasn't been bad at all. I'm putting a Kuro Kage into both today though and I expect them to shine this weekend after the change.
