Some RBZ Thoughts...

All in all, don't think it's enough to prompt me to dump my Titleist 910 3-wood out of the bag, but for a while I sure was thinking about it - white head an all!
Also, got my RBZ 5 iron about a week and a half ago and have practiced with it -- easy to hit, forgiving, but distance-wise not sure what it would replace in my bag. It's kind of in between my 5 iron and 4 hybrid - nice stick but it just doesn't fit.
Driver: TaylorMade R1, RIP Phenom 55 Gram shaft, stiff

Hybrids: Cleveland Mashie M3, M4, Talamonti H-100 shafts, stiff
Hogan Edge 17*, Excaliber HY shaft, stiff
Weszty FSF 19*, 23*, Penley Driving Iron shafts, stiff

Personally I'd trade my RBZ 3-wood for a Titleist 910F, I just like the look of the Titleist better and I'm a sucker for the adjustable hosel.

The rap that we give the RBZ on this site is that while it may not live up to it's billing of 17 yards longer than whatever you use, I think I found it 3 or 4 yards longer, it is still a great and forgiving club. I did not try the tour addition, but the other was too closed for me at address. But I will say something I have never said about it before. The difference between a well struck 3 wood and a poorly struck 3 wood can be much more than 17 yards. Maybe 117 yards, or from my personal experience 200 yards different.
AND you can check with Taylormade and they will tell you that the RBZ 5 iron you have will fit very nicely between the RBZ 4 and 6 irons so the problem is with the rest of your set, not their 5 iron.

How long is your 929 shaft vs. the RBZ? The RBZ has a 43.5" shaft and if you made your 929 43" then that could account for those extra few yards.

I'm actually right in between at 43.25"; I made it that long only because I mainly use it off the tee, I choke down about an 1" if I'm hitting it from the fairway. It's not as light as the RBZ either, so I'm not quite getting the SS I was with the RBZ, but the flight is much better.

Yeah I think they use a 45 gram shaft in the standard RBZ which is insanely light for a FW wood!

Then I hit the RBZ 3i...It was high & it filled my 3i gap, though I had to alter my stance to compensate for for the off-set...So I had it bent..I know they say you're not supposed to, however an asst. pro @ the club said no problem...
Well, for the past three weeks, there were no problems...Great club...Then yesterday, on the par 3 that I spoke of in my RBZ thread, a 227 yd slight downhill(though yesterday it was playing 219 yds) hole, I came through impact & it sounded like a frickin gunshot...The ball went about 45* hard right & the RBZ head just missed my caddy, who was slightly in front of me & about 10-12' to my right...It snapped @ the neck.....
I was -1 @ the time(thru 5) & I was in the pine trees...I punched out & laid a wedge on & 2 putted for a double...I ended up +2 for the nine, but it took me three holes to get it out of my mind..I gotta work on getting pissed, cuz that was just a fluke...I mean what the hell, it's not like I cranked a shot into the trees with a bad swing..lol...
Anyway, I still think that the RBZs are excellent clubs, It's just that they're are made for a certain player profile, & I'm not willing to alter my swing/set-up to compensate for the offset...Fairways & Greens 4ever........

I had the exact same experience. I just hate to look at the RBZ 5i and everything is a pull or hook. I'm tempted to add a 4i to my bag and take out my gap wedge. My 5i - 4h gap kills me on the par 3s for 180-185 yards.

Wither either the Altus or that stock Reax it hasn't been bad at all. I'm putting a Kuro Kage into both today though and I expect them to shine this weekend after the change.

I got to play with a guy with cerebral palsy yesterday and made his day... He hits from the forward tees, and was making fun of me after I had a TERRIBLE tee shot and even worse second, and he still had to wait for me to hit... He fell out of the cart laughing when I hit my 3rd 90º into the woods... I was hitting I was hitting my 5th before he hit his 2nd. WORST HOLE I'VE EVER PLAYED...
