Taylormade Crack Club face

Recommended Posts

Didnt know it was possible but I cracked the face of my Taylormade Superfast TP. Hit the ball and thought it felt weird. Noticed on the next tee a big crack in the face. Sent the club into Taylormade and they sent me back a rocketballz tour driver. Gotta respect Taylormade for backing up their products.

I crushed in the face of my TMaG 460 SuperQuad, they replaced it with a tour burner. Given I crushed the face within a year of buying the driver. TMaG isn't too terrible about warranty on products, most OEMs really aren't. I didn't hairline fracture the face like most people do I broke that s*** to the point you could see the entire face thickness in the crack and a little space in-between :)

I had a friend get a Titleist driver warrantied over a hairline fracture, so heard pretty good things about them as well. I would suspect most OEMs would warranty something if you bought it within 6mo to a year new and broke it with normal play.

Yea I think I broke mine about 2 yrs after buying it which surprised me that they replaced it after having it for that long. Big time upgrade in going from a 2010 model to a 2012 model.

I've had this happen to several drivers and so far the only company I've had a problem with at all is Nike. I had a VR Tour that I won in a fantasy contest and it cracked along the compression channel. They said they didn't guarantee promotional items, to which I responded, "what does it matter if I paid $400 for it or won it in a contest, it is your product and it malfunctioned".......they stuck to their response. I will never own another Nike product because of that...although the Covert has tempted me.

And how many times have you told this story, and how many people have not bought a Nike product because of it? How incredibly stupid of them! I've really never had a bad experience with a golf company over a reasonable issue, and I've had to return several items. Most of them have actually gone over and above what I expected.

Manufacturers will generally warranty their clubs (and some times even when they're out of warranty). Why? One good experience and someone might tell 10-15 people. A bad one and they tell EVERYONE.

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

I've sent in a few different clubs for warranty claims for customers in the past couple years and TM has always blown me away with what they'll do for customers. Last one was a guy who brought in a R11 that developed a little head rattle. It was off and on but not too bad. Called them up, they told me they were out of R11, R11s heads and said they'd ship him out a brand new R1. This was 2 weeks before the launch. And this has been the norm with them, not the exception. Nike has been pretty good about things as well.

In Nick's Ogio Edge Stand Bag

Right. Information like that passes on. A short term loss for them ends up in a longterm gain.
