  1. I haven't laughed this hard in a LONG Time!

    Don't know if you have heard of the "cinnamon challenge" that has swept the nation of late. Anyway...basically the challenge goes like this. Try to eat a spoon full of cinnamon without almost dying. Seriously don't try this.

    I saw the guys and gals on MythBusters do it...but this lady took it to the next level.

    “With any turnaround it’s a common theme: Let’s be really good at a few things,” Brewer told MarketWatch. “We need to simplify and focus on core products and brands, and put our resources where they need to be, where there’s the strongest potential.”

    For Callaway, that means selling golf clubs and golf balls, and for Brewer the problem isn’t the products, but how they’ve been sold.

    “There’s not a problem with our product performance, it’s our market appeal. We need to improve the sex appeal of the products...with a crisper marketing message and more aggressive presentation,” he said.

    As its fortunes declined, Callaway’s previous management cut its marketing budgets, a trend Brewer has begun to reverse. While Callaway has recently cut about $50 million in operating expenses, it has grown its marketing budget by $25 million.

    Among the initiatives is allowing consumers to personalize their Callaway clubs, choosing their own colors for grips and shafts and even having their initials stamped on the club’s head. While marketing plans are still being developed, Brewer said one element will be to add more golfers to the company’s stable of endorsers.

    I received an email from MyGolfSpy before I became a member entitled Top Secret: Drivers With Computer Chips Could Be Next. I thoroughly enjoyed the article, and if that is a sample of some of the stuff that floats around here, I want to be a member. So I joined up. I am looking forward to what I will find next.
