  2. Got a Grayson polo as a gift (more than I would spend on myself ) and it does seem well made, comfortable and importantly for me true to size!
  3. You’ve truly opened Pandora’s box @Cfhandyman - I think you just gotta go with your gut…
  4. @sirchunksalot Jason, have an "off topic" question, and if you don't want to reply here you can send me a message instead. I know that the U.A.W. had a VW plant targeted to see if the employees would be interested in joining their ranks. Was it your plant? Any idea on how the voting may have turned out? They tried previously and both other attempts had close voting, but majority ruled as no U.A.W. representation. Just curious, as living and working here in the Motor City area, I have seen and experienced many events with the U.A.W. and the automotive companies, both good and not so good.
  5. Just got in today. Brought the ExPutt (and three excited children) up to my office at the church this afternoon. After a bit of work to do the setup, we got it up and running, and I'm really looking forward to using it for this test.
  6. I want to start off by stating, I’m a heavier individual and carry a little too much around the middle. This being said, I’ve always had difficulty tucking in golf shirts and not fighting to keep them tucked in during a round of golf. Golf is hard enough without worrying about looking sloppy. I recently purchased a couple of golf polo shirts from Greyson Clothiers (I must say that I fell for the marketing, seeing Justin Thomas wearing the brand). I was happily surprised that their golf wear is extra long yet isn’t baggy. It is by far the most comfortable golf brand I’ve ever wore. On the downside, you can’t really wear it untucked because of the length. It is a high priced brand but overall, worth it for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. @jbern with now only 7 more Monday through Friday working days left at this time I am doing OK with upcoming retirement. I mentioned much earlier that a big reason for my decision was the lack of help or support from our "team members" mostly due to their attitudes of "not going to school to get my hands dirty" and their recent job title changes. That hasn't changed, although now they realize that they do not have a replacement or anyo9ne else in that "team" with any mechanical skills or background. Other's have told me and convinced me that is NOT my problem. Working in the automotive industry, I believe that if you know and understand how things work, and why they work the way they do or are supposed to do so, a paper degree saying that you know and understand math for an engineering degree is only worth the price of the paper it is printed on. Hands on experience would trump being "book smart." My biggest fear or concern is the change to a "routine" of getting up and going to school or work since 1968, and then to full time work or employment since 1973. I do have a lot of outside work activities that I support and interest me, so I am hoping that spending additional time doing them will fill any gaps or needs. Financially, I am a typical working class American, and with Social Security benefits and a moderate or live within your means lifestyle it should be OK. If I need to work, I could get a part time job at a course like @tdroma98 or @Rob Person which would also keep me outdoors, interacting with other people, and on a golf course. @jbern and THANK YOU for asking!
  9. I started playing again after a 30 year hiatus and was amazed by the amount of information out there. There wasn't much available back then. Its enough to make one dizzy. It is much the same as the internet itself. One has to know what to ask. Then like human interactions, experience level and experiences must mesh. Like speaking English is not enough we must be speaking the same language. Feel is a tough thing to convey. Good teachers do it pretty well and then there are others. Shawn Clement has been mentioned a few times in this topic and would fit into the good teacher category. I would say half, maybe more are well intention-ed and the rest are trying to sell you something, a program or just racking up the likes. I've gone down a rabbit hole or two but now I use it to go back to basics. I've found a few that do that well. One good thing I've found on you tube is the realization that most of us are just plane lost and left to a our own devices. Full of want to and no where near enough how to. And unless one has pockets full of spare money we are left with you tube. Hence a ripe and fertile place to be P.T.Barnum-ed. Much like life itself. All in all Golf is hard and will remain so. But will challenge the challengable and supply all the historical ambience one could ask for.

  11. I am now officially conflicted. I had my choice down and then created the spreadsheet with all the options. Now that I can see the variety of options all I can say I have a favourite from each group. Yikes what have I done. From minimal, it’s the logo, from simple the T line, the wider 2 lines, the three lines that extend all the way to the back of the putter and the pointer arrow. Colour wise red and blue still lead the way. Hopefully, I get my fitting data soon so I’m forced to make a decision.
  12. This is my Review #2 for Sundog Billy83 sunglasses with POLARIZED LENSES. As I said in my first Review for Sundog Zenith sunglasses with NON-POLARIZED LENSES, I really do not intend to wear polarized lenses for playing golf due to the fact that they tend to flatten-out slopes/terrain and do not identify grass grain on putting greens, which is an important thing here in Florida. Again, I'll post pics below, but my initial thoughts on the Sundog Billy83 with polarized lenses was very positive. At the retail price of $149.99, I would consider them a great value. They delivered on quality, fashion, clarity, UV protection and calming-effect. Quality: Sundog Billy83 sunglasses are very well made. The frame and lens materials are very solid. Like the Sundog Zenith's I tested, the hinges work just the right amount of easy. The Billy83's feature a nose-piece (pic 23) that seems bendable and replaceable if needed to fit wider or narrower noses. There is a small screw that allows the nose piece to be removed for replacement. The Sundog soft cloth bag/case in pics 19, 24, 25 and 26 show that is is a very generous size compared to the Oakley "plutonite" bag. Soft cloth sunglass bags should be laundered every 10 wearings, especially in the Summer when wearing sunscreen. Fashion: Again, I trusted my wife's opinion of what frames would look best on my face. The Billy83's are very similar to Oakley "Heater" style frames. I consider "fit" more important than fashion for golf sunglasses. However, based on my preference for non-polarized sunglasses for golf, I would wear Billy83's for driving, beach, boating, tennis, and most other sporting activities. These did a good job of keeping extra side/top-light out of my eyes. Clarity: This is one of the categories where Billy83's really shined. There is a super sharpness when looking through these lenses. It somewhat made me feel like I was wearing corrective lenses - maybe it's the TrueBlue lenses! UV Protection: After reading everything available on this topic on their website, I trust Sundog, Calming Effect: It's extremely difficult for a non-polarized lens to beat a polarized lens for "calming effect" and compared to the Sundog Zenith sunglasses, Sundog Billy83s rated a 10 in this category for me. Again, maybe it's the TrueBlue lenses. Negatives: I picked the Sundog Billy83s to test because they were the best for hat-wearers and wide faces. What I could not discern until I wore them was the temple/arms fit. On my first wearing, I could not keep the Billys or Zeniths on my head for more than 1 hour to to extreme tightness of the temples/arms over my ears. I read later some information from the Sundog folks mentioning that the Billy83 temples were bendable, so I tried it for my second test-wearing. Bending the temples outward (see pics 29, 32 and 32A) illustrate what I did, and it did release the tension of the frames on the sides of my head. However, bending the temples outward (pic 32A) made them come in direct contact with my big hat and made them not sit right on my nose. Florida was experiencing some high winds earlier this week when I was doing my testing, but wind is normally an issue most of the time here and winds affect the kind of hat you can wear on a certain day. I would need to do some more bending/testing before I would give the Billy83's my blessing for great fit. I do like the rubberized tips on the temples that help when you put the Billy83s on your hat while putting - they feel a bit more secure. Once again, I see so many big headed guys (police officers, firemen, first responders, body builders and many others and wonder where they get proper-fitting sunglasses. SUNDOG MARKETING DEPARTMENT - I hope you are listening! Here comes the pics....thank you for your time and attention. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  13. I have only had a chance to hit chip shots in the yard and hit a few into a net. I did line up the ball with the green dot up and it did really help me to stay in the shot longer and not pick my head up early. Like I said before I play this ball so I know pretty much what it is going to do on chip shots i.e. how far it will roll out. This is my favorite ball my second choice is the titleist tour soft so when I get to play again I going to test them against each other. Hopefully the next time I post it will be with real world results.
  14. Wow, those are some beautiful irons. I love the minimalist/clean look of the irons.
  15. Just got my remote fitting reply: L.A.B. recommends a stock 69° lie angle for me, which doesn't totally shock me. Size-wise, I'm more or less the stock American male (likely lighter than average, but that's not a major factor in putter fitting).

  17. I just made it home from work and it is crazy how much I'm having to catch up on. I like it! For some strange reason, our ability to get good Internet service inside the plant has gone the way of the dodo bird and it's quite frustrating. @Josh Parker I'm just jealous of the deck. Honestly, it looks awesome and I know you'll make lots of memories there. @CFreddie happy anniversary! @GolfSpy_KFT I hope your oldest gets to feeling better. @Northern Monkey congratulations on the new personal best round! That's freaking awesome! @Wheelieb I hope you can find some answers to your ailments. @EnderinAZ I hope things went well for you today. @ILMgolfnut have fun today with @Tom the Golf Nut I've had the pleasure of playing a few rounds with him and he's a great player and fun to be around. Plus, he's a scholar and a gentleman. I've got a round scheduled tomorrow morning and it's going to be wet and sloppy after all the rain, but it's going to be a good time.
  18. I've got a couple of yardage books I purchased from PuttView. The biggest benefits I get from them are: 1) On approaches, I can use the book to get an idea of how the green slopes based on pin location. They're able to help me identify areas that I can use to my advantage to get closer to the pin, and areas to avoid. 2) On the greens, I they help me identify hidden or subtle nuances to breaks. I can generally read most greens pretty well, but if I'm ever between reads, the book is the tiebreaker. They are very handy in competition when scopes with slope adjustment are banned, and they are detailed enough to give you specific yardages to key targets around the course. Plus, they help me focus a bit more on the process without taking too much time to make a shot.
  19. I can’t wait for you guys to start getting these shafts. Such a neat concept and even just the ability to see how you use the ground and shift your weight with the plates and app was awesome to see. Tempting to take one of the fitting shafts out for a run tomorrow just to see how it goes lol
  20. Great round! Nothing to this game!
  21. I have bunker-envy! That practice bunker is better than most of the course bunkers I've played around here. Too many rock hard, or full of stones. That looks great.
  22. Agree, I found it interesting because I do it a lot. I also use swing length as well. Like I said I’m a feel player and like to play what I see in my mind. Plus, I color outside the lines so, I do a lot of unconventional things. Big part is I can replicate it so, it works for me. Sort of like using a hybrid off the green on a bad tight lie and “putting” it up close. Many ways to play this crazy game. That’s what keeps it interesting!
  23. After a terrible ball striking day the -F3 was a saving grace , I did not 3 putt today , first time in longer than I can recall , I chipped terrible , only had 2 that were inside 5 feet but managed to hole 3 putts over 30 feet for pars and bogey , I made every single putt under 10 feet and turned a high 80’s to low 90’s round into an acceptable 83 - my playing partners kept remarking on how well I was putting , it was remarkable to say the least . The Array alignment is making a believer out of me for sure so far .
  24. I choke down normally around the greens, usually down to the shaft or even on the shaft. This helps control length of backswing and provides excellent distance control. Full swing depends if between clubs or a specific type of shot.
