Golf DF3 Putter Review

I’ve been a walking scorer in the US Open’s here at Pinehurst for over 15 years now. Walked with Rickly Fowler 3 times, what a great guy and polite gentleman. So of course I follow him, even thou I’m a “Die Hard” TaylorMade supporter. Now, every time at the Golf Galaxy, I putt my brains out with DF3. I was totally blown away with how straight and accurate this putter is. 3rd time was a charm, so I bought it. I am more comfortable with a putter that is more upright, had to order my spider special from Taylormade due to that. The DF3 appears to have a more upright angle which fits my eyes over the ball perfectly. Love the putter for two months now. It does feel lighter than my spider. I had to learn to hit this a little harder or be a bit more aggressive. I did see you can add a plug to the hole. Anybody had experience with the plug being added?

Golf OZ.1i with TPT Shaft – A True Gamer

Review: L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i with TPT Shaft – A True Gamer

There are few things more personal in golf than a putter. It’s the one club in the bag that feels more like an extension of your hands than a tool. For me, L.A.B. Golf has long held that special place in the putter world. Their approach to Lie Angle Balance is unique, their designs bold, and the results, when they click, can be transformative.

I’ve had my ups and downs with L.A.B. over the years. The MEZZ MAX was a fun ride at first, but once the honeymoon period wore off, I struggled with consistency. The LINK.1, on the other hand, was a true turning point. It just worked and still does. It’s stayed in the rotation and remains one of my most reliable putters to this day.

But the OZ.1i? That’s where things started to feel different. In all the right ways.

First Impressions: Looks That Turn Heads

The OZ.1i doesn’t look like your average putter. It’s not trying to. It’s sleek, modern, and built with a design philosophy that feels more like sculpture than equipment. From the moment I saw it, I was hooked.

I chose a green finish, and I’m glad I did. It pops beautifully against the grass and really shines in the morning light. It’s elegant without being loud, refined without being boring. The look of this putter actually makes me excited to pull it out of the bag.

The customization options from L.A.B. Golf are nearly endless. You can go wild or keep it clean, and I leaned toward the latter. I wanted something that spoke to the art of putting. Simple, minimal, classic. To me, the OZ.1i captures that. It’s art you can roll.

The Face Insert: A New Feel

One of the first things I noticed when testing the OZ.1i was the new face insert. It’s firmer than previous L.A.B. models, but not firm in a negative sense. It still delivers that soft feedback I love, just with a touch more immediacy.

The best way I can describe it is purposeful. When the ball meets the face, the feedback is instant and clear. With some previous models, especially the MEZZ MAX, I occasionally struggled with speed control. The face had a slight rebound effect that made judging distance a little tricky.

Not so with the OZ.1i. The ball comes off cleanly, predictably, and with a sense of control that feels dialed in.

	Performance on the Greens

This putter performs. That’s the simplest and most honest way to put it. From short putts to long lag rolls, I’ve found a level of consistency with the OZ.1i that’s hard to describe. There’s something about it that just simplifies the act of putting. I’m not thinking about mechanics. I’m not overanalyzing stroke paths. I’m just rolling the rock.

It’s more forgiving than the LINK.1 in my experience, and it feels more naturally balanced than the MEZZ MAX. That’s obviously subjective, but I can say with confidence that the OZ.1i brings out the best in my putting game.

It’s worth noting I did get on a SAM PuttLab and tested all my LAB putters. The data didn’t reveal massive differences. There wasn’t a clear winner based on the numbers. But on the course, in real-world conditions, the OZ.1i stands out.

Confidence is a hard thing to measure, but when you’ve got it, it shows. With this putter, I feel confident from anywhere on the green.

	TPT Shaft: The Perfect Match

Let’s talk shafts. I’ve used the ACCRA putter shaft before and still think it’s a fantastic option. But the TPT? It’s a level up for me. The stability is second to none. You feel it in the takeaway, through impact, and even after the putt has rolled out. It’s solid, connected, and incredibly consistent.

There’s a slight difference in sound and feedback compared to the ACCRA. Nothing negative, just different. The TPT has a bit more immediacy. You know exactly where the ball met the face, and you get that information instantly.

One important note is the TPT shaft does slightly change swing weight. If you’re testing options, I highly recommend trying them side by side. That change in weight and feel might be the difference-maker when deciding what works best for you.

For me, when doing direct head-to-head comparisons, the TPT consistently showed tighter dispersion and more consistent direction. More putts started on line and stayed on line.

	The Grip: Best in Class

I went with the Pistol grip on the OZ.1i, and I’m so glad I did. It fits my hands and my putting style perfectly.

The texture is right where I want it. Grippy without being tacky. The shape feels natural, and the durability has been excellent so far. I’ve tried dozens of grips over the years, but this one is a standout.

Honestly, it’s the best putter grip I’ve ever used. Period.

Final Thoughts: A Putter That Delivers

So where does that leave me? The OZ.1i isn’t just another club in the bag. It’s my gamer. It’s the putter I trust when I’m playing for score. When I’m in a tournament. When I want to eliminate doubt and focus purely on feel, speed, and execution.

L.A.B. absolutely nailed it with this one. From the aesthetics to the technology to the feel and feedback, the OZ.1i delivers across the board.

And while I’ll always have a soft spot for the LINK.1 and still use it occasionally, this is the putter that gets the nod week in and week out.

If you’re even remotely curious about L.A.B. Golf or if you’ve tried their putters before and didn’t quite find the right fit, give the OZ.1i a serious look. Add the TPT shaft to the mix and you’ve got a package that’s stable, smart, and seriously dialed.

I can’t promise it’ll be love at first roll, but it was for me.

I have to say I’m really impressed with this putter since getting it late last year. I had a triple alignment put on it as I use triple track a lot and my accuracy has been so much better now. I’m still figure out distance control but I was so prone to just hitting horrible pull and pushed putts that I was just happy to going the right direction lol. But I just have found some level of consistency in my putting that I just couldn’t seem to find at all last year with my blade putter.

Had my OZi about 2 weeks and loving it more and more as I use it more. Feels amazing and haven’t hit a bad putt with it. If I could just read a green.

Got a link 1 last summer and loved it ever since. Don't get me wrong its no miracle worker but it feels lovely at impact and definitely feel more confident on the shorter putts with it compared with previous putters (scotty newport 2, odyssey 2 ball et al). Maybe placebo but who cares when they are going in right?

I dont think I'd look else where other than lab now

I just recently got the DF2.1 and haven't had a whole lot of time with it but I have noticed a few things. At first, I was a little scared with the size of it and regretted not getting the DF3 but after I got it I wasn't so overwhelmed. The headcover felt high quality and I am a big fan of the magnets within it. When I started putting with it I hit a few flat 12-14 footers and left all of them short but one. It doesn't feel like it has the same pop of the face like my Scotty does. When it came to how I hit them, they were all dead online or slightly to the right. That is my typical miss so I am guessing I just left the face a little open. Short putts felt crisp and I was confident in them.

I am excited to see how this plays out as I get out this spring.
