Testers Wanted (4) Among all major companies these days marketing claims around drivers are getting out of control. Manufacturers would love for golfers to buy new drivers every year or two, at seemingly increasing prices—it’s what helps pay for those flashy advertising campaigns and big-name tour contracts. As a result, the price of drivers has exploded, and it becomes a vicious circle. Ben Hogan Golf is primarily thought of as an iron company, and rightfully so. But when it set out to design and build the new GS53 Driver, it did so with the serious golfer in mind. They feel they have developed one of the best looking and best performing drivers available. They feel it’s a driver that lives up to the Ben Hogan name and promise. So if you’re a regular reader of this space…you know what’s coming next……….. TESTERS WANTED; we’re going to select four of our trusted forum members to see for themselves—and of course share with the rest of the forum— if the GS53 drivers live up to the Ben Hogan name. The testing is open to all forum members in the US, Canada and UK. At this time the driver is available in Right Hand only. To Be Considered Please Provide the Information Below BUT DO NOT QUOTE THIS POST First Name City/State or Country Driver Swing Speed Handicap We'll be choosing the testers sometime next week

From time to time, MyGolfSpy does brand-association surveys. Titleist is among the brands that fare best in these surveys: they have a reputation of no-nonsense quality and performance. Here's my hunch: if the survey asked to identify a brand with the phrase "Tour Proven," Titleist would win in a landslide. So here in the MyGolfSpy forums, we're delighted to work with Titleist to get four sets of their newest series of irons into the hands of our members for testing and reviews: T100S: @chisag @THEZIPR23 T200: @blackngold_blood, redeeming his golden ticket from being our 2019 fantasy golf champion in grand fashion! @DaveP043 This was among our highest-demand testing opportunities, and I know we'll all be following along eagerly as these great forum members put their new sets of Titleist irons to the test!

The MyGolfSpy Forum is a true Community in every sense of the word. For the reader, by the reader. We aim to be a welcoming place where all opinions can be heard and all members are encouraged to participate. One of the greatest barriers for this (and other forums for that matter) is the on-boarding process. New members fresh to the site are searching to find their way around and often have too much ability to handle up front. Enter, the Recruit Group. The Recruit Group will be aimed at assisting new members by guiding them through the process to learn 'how to forum' before they're full-on members. With that, comes a few restrictions as well. These restrictions will hopefully encourage new community members to discover all that we have to offer while limiting the impact on our existing and established members. The following permissions will be disabled for Recruits: Display Name Change Content Reporting Chat Box Posting listings in Buy/Sell/Trade Apply for Forum Testing Opportunities The following permissions will be limited for Recruits: 10MB max photo uploads Max 15 posts per day Limited to 5 recipients per message, 50 total, 10/day Rest assured, these measures should not be looked at as punishments but rather view them as the rails to keep you on the tracks until you're ready to be a contributing member to the forum. Want full permissions? It's quite easy to get promoted to Member. You just need to hit the following criteria: Make 15 posts AND Receive 15 likes AND Spend 2 total days on the forum. That's it. Easy enough? Get posting! Be sure to hit up the FAQ for assistance. Questions?? Either reply to this thread or reach out to one of our great staffers: Yours Truly, @Golfspy_CG2, @GolfSpy MPR, and @GolfSpy Stroker To the rest of you who are established, please make every effort possible to help lead new members to the information they need to find success and camaraderie. We're all in this together! Note: If you've suddenly found yourself in the Recruit Group but have already satisfied all criteria to be a member, just reload your sign-in. It's an automatic rule that runs when a member logs in to the forum.

Been on the forums since Friday and I’m in love! I love seeing everyone’s WITB and how they got there, seeing golf course recommendations, and of course, people’s fitting experiences at different places. Really enjoying it here so far!

A lady in my office bragged all of yesterday morning about the bonfire party she attended over the weekend on a lake about 90 miles from here. Just before lunch, I wasn't having it anymore. I asked her how responsible she thought that was given the situation. Exposing herself to large groups of people from other regions and bringing it back to our workspace to potentially infect the rest of us. She countered with something to the effect of "I have a social life. I'm not giving that up because it doesn't meet your approval!" With that, she began posting dozens of pictures on Facebook of her weekend extravaganza. Within an hour, management sent her home with instructions to not return until the governor's "shelter in place" directive is rescinded. It appears, I'm not the only one who doesn't approve! Here's to hoping she doesn't return at all!!!!!

Congrats to our selected testers! Go here to see the official review: Testers Wanted (2) T100-S and (2) T200 Titleist Irons What better way to get our minds off of all the troubles in the world these days than a good iron testing. Well at MyGolfSpy, we don’t do good, we do MIND BLOWING--You Can Not Be Serious testings!! And that’s what we have here! When Titleist introduced its new T Series irons last fall, it included pretty much everything you’d expect from Titleist, all neatly arranged—T100, T200 and T300. The T100 fit the accomplished amateur and many tour pros, while T200 and T300 were designed for the distance and game improvement segments respectively. Now this spring comes the T100-S, and you can read the excellent First Look by our own Tony Covey here: Titleist launches T100-S. Titleist in the first ever Forum Testing opportunity that I can recall, is going to provide our members a chance to put these beautiful and now longer players irons to the test. But wait there’s more: Titleist doesn’t just dip its toes in the water, it goes off the high dive! It realizes most everyday forum golfers aren’t cut out for such a player’s club. So, it’s widening the testing field to include the T-200 iron as well! That's right two models, two testers each. So read the instructions closely, as not following them exactly could cost you an opportunity to be a tester. How to Apply This is important, so please follow these instructions carefully: 1. If you haven't already, make sure you're a registered MyGolfSpy Forum member 2. Provide us with the information requested below. 3. Be honest on your selection of desired test iron and handicap, it doesn't do anybody any good to have a 36 handicap testing an iron designed for tour players and single digit handicaps. - Your First Name - City/Sate - Your Handicap - Current Iron Model In Play - Desired Model to test- You Must Choose ONE-saying something like "either one" will get you disqualified. Lastly but just as importantly Please do not 'quote' this post when applying.. Per the manufactures request: this review opportunity is open to golfers who resides in the US. We'll be announcing the testers in this thread next week, so make sure to check back.

Unfortunately, we live in a world filled with narcissism and self-indulgence. People rarely stop to think of how their actions impact those around them. For me, this hasn't been much of a change. I'm pretty reclusive anyway. My circle is very small and I don't trust people in-general. Social distancing is something I've been doing my whole life. That's why I live in a region where the population is roughly 60,000 people per 1,000 square miles! I readily admit, I was late to the party on this whole mess. I thought initially, it was being massively overblown. But after gathering some information on "flattening the curve" the lightbulb went off. This isn't about me. It's about those I may come into contact with. Stopping the spread means we all have to sacrifice in some way. So, my family and I began doing our part, which wasn't much of a change for us. Sadly, we can't make irresponsible people understand responsibility.

Thank you Titleist, MGS and mods. Congrats fellow testers. This is going to be awesome!!

... Kinda unexpected but very much appreciated so thanks MGS. I play P790's, 760's and Cobra Forged Tours and the Titleist T100-S should be a great challenge to those irons. I really look forward to comparing the T100-S with the same specs and then sharing my thoughts and experience.

Sincere thanks to everyone for your comments, thoughts and prayers. I'm very fortunate to not only have a great blood family in my sisters and brother, but a wonderful virtual family at MGS. Truly appreciate each and everyone of you.

... Personally I have been around long enough to know I don't trust the public to do the right thing. Ever. I post this for reference, not politics. For those wondering if you are gonna be forced to follow a Stay At Home order and whether or not your course will be open, take a look at your states Governor. 22 of 24 states with Democrats have issued a SAH. 9 of 26 states with Republicans have issued a SAH. While not all SAH states have declared golf courses non essential, your governor will have the biggest say in whether you can play golf. Moot point for me because either Chicago (or Phoenix) have too big a population with too many visitors to risk playing golf. But if I lived in a smaller town and could take proper precautions, I would be playing right now.

Hey MGS Community - How's everyone doing? We at Fujikura are using this time to do our part to turn our attention to education and having a conversation with golfers. We want to get back on the course soon just like you, but in the interim we hope we are able to chat with you and answer some questions. We have looped in our sales team, product experts and Tour fitters to participate in the Q&A and help answer your questions. Please feel free to use this as an opportunity to ask us anything, it does not have to be just about shaft specs. Also, please let us know how you’re doing during this tough time – how are you trying to keep your game in shape? or what golf content are you watching on YouTube? Things like that. Also, if you’re looking for some reading material about Fuji and how we design and make shafts, check out ShaftU which is educational content in collaboration with MyGolfSpy: https://fujikuragolf.com/education#shaft-university maybe some of this will inspire questions that we can address here! Thanks for chatting with us and we hope to hear from you. Also please follow us on Instagram and twitter and you can engage with us there also. Sincerely, The Fuji team in Carlsbad, CA

I'll update on my son and daughter in law. They are recovering. They no longer have a high temperature. They still have a bit of trouble breathing, but they now have their energy back. She says that she feels 80 percent and my son is about 70 percent. They were in social isolation for a week before coming down with it and were really sick for over a week. They are not looking forward to the two weeks of quarantine after the last symptoms. My worry level is down from full on panic to only an intense worry. A guy who works for me part time also (probably) has it, along with his wife. They are in their 60s and are having a hard time. They have not been hospitalized. But both say you do not want this. It is the worst they have ever felt. They've been sick for over two weeks. The irony is they have not been tested. They called the hospital and were told not to come in. They live in one of the few counties of Iowa that "doesn't have a case." Yeah, right.

Really discouraging seeing photos of people congregating and watching the Naval ship dock in NYC yesterday when that is where the highest level of cases are in the country.... it sucks, it really does, we're social beings by nature. I'm not that much of an extrovert but not being able to go out and about is a bummer. However - it brings me back to my time at boot camp at MCRD and what we heard plenty of: Suck It Up. Do the right thing. For you. For your family. For your friends. For your country. #AloneTogether

Yeah buddy. I love our freedoms, support and defend them for my career, but the complete disregard for life and safety is unreal across the whole country. I practice social distancing even during normal times. Live out away from everyone for the most part, avoid large gatherings. Not much has changed for me, except I have to use the quote from Al Pacino in The Recruit... “Trust no one”... while at work and when I have to go out for food.

One big thing I'd like remind everyone that testing isn't a random thing. We hand pick people to test based on trust and contributions to the site. We owe it to the OEMs to pick people that will deliver quality reviews on time and can't ever verify that if the applicants have no resume to speak of in the forum. Encouraging more people to post more gives us more chances to pick new testers.

Got out today and walked 18 at my club. They pulled the flags and put cut down pool noodles in the cups. Was a bit odd just firing at the center of every green, but it worked. Shot an unofficial-3 68 thanks to and eagle on 4 and a birdie on 5 to go with 16 pars. First round with the broomstick and could not have rolled it better. Looking forward to a good season if we can get back to normal golf. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

... I think many saw this coming. I agree it is sad all current "news" outlets simply tell their base what they want to hear. 24 hr news stations are money makers when back in the day they were loss leaders because they were accurate, not telling their audience what they wanted to hear. That said, it is one thing to slant politics to fit their base, it is quite another to mislead their audience when the owners are taking precautions against a worldwide pandemic they know is coming. I really hope this is a wake up call for people locked in to one "news" source. Politics have divided and distracted our country which is exactly what some wanted all along, but I hope this medical crises brings us back together.

Started out strong with a birdie on the par 5 first hole and finished the 9 with a 38. Got a phone text that distracted me for the rest of the round and I lost focus. 3 doubles on the backside and shoot 83 for the round. On another note, the number of COVID 19 cases has been doubling in our county and I've made a conscious decision to quit playing golf as a group game for awhile, even though we are good about maintaining distances.

I'm about an hour away from starting 2 weeks off. I'm not sure if I'd rather be at work dealing with sick people or home with the wife and 2 teenage daughters. We're still seeing an increases locally and nationally, but the doubling rate is slowing. Our testing rates are high (best globally per capita) which can only be a good thing. My hospital is probably one of the best set for the upcoming crisis. We recently regained possession of the private hospital across the street from the main hospital. This has had a quick refurbishment and will be used for Covid-19 if required. Currently it is being used for testing and assessment of possible cases and imaging of these people where necessary. We've developed some "no touch" workflow for X-ray to minimise risk to staff, patients are in and out in 2 minutes and barely touch any equipment.

Went out to the grocery store today. About half the people were wearing masks and gloves. The store was following some good practices. For example, after every transaction at the self service checkout, an employee wipes down the scanner, the credit card machine, etc. Was good to stock up on some groceries, hopefully I won't need to go out again for a while.

Our course opened today and our foursome was the first group out - that's become a tradition. Forecast was light winds, sunny and mid to high 40's. Actual weather: strong winds off the lake, no sun and 42*. Since it was cart path only, I decided to walk at least the front 9. Drove the cart to #1 from our house with the push cart on the back. The other three guys decided to use their carts. Played really awful - I decided to stop keeping score - it might have been after I drove 3 balls in the water on #1. .I figure I ended up somewhere between 90 and 100. However, it didn't matter I was out of the house, into fresh air and able to trash talk with my buds. Edit: FYI there were no pins so we had to guess where the hole was - that didn't help scoring. The grounds crew inverted the cups so the ball couldn't go in but you couldn't see the hole until you were on the green. .

My wife was sent home from work, one of her team members tested positive. Her last interaction with the sick employee was 3/20 and fortunately for us, my wife remains asymptomatic. She has not been tested so we’re following county health advice at this time. We are living with the idea of not if but when. Good news with my job is that I am away from home 24 hours at a time.

Had a heartbreaking 82 today. My buddy and me, both 63, a 10 and a 5 took on a Yankee minor league trainer and their triple A strength coach (also a certified TPI trainer). These guys are 29 and 33 and a 4 and a 14. They played the tips, we played up a set us v them even 5 dollar Nassau. Great young guys, fun match - my 10 shot 78 and we tied them. I did have some contributions including the day’s highlight, a hole out from 125 for Eagle when one of them was inside 5 feet for birdie. That was great. Hard to imagine the strength coach works with guys like Aaron Judge in the weight room. :) According to ARCOSS my approach game handicap was 15.5. :( I missed 13/18 approaches left. It seemed like all of those were with 6 or 7 iron. On 18, a par 5, I had 215 to the center into the wind, up hill, couldn’t reach, lots of trouble around the green. I said I’m hitting 6 iron. Tried to hit a cut and blistered the most beautiful 160 yard 2 yard draw you’d ever want to see. :) Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

I have a garage setup that includes the flight deck. I’m not a Costco guy but I’ve heard they are about half price there than anywhere else. The mat is great in terms of forgiveness and I find it to provide accurate spin numbers. I played 54 today at St. Andrews and no elbow pain. Let’s you know when you catch it fat and you can easily tear it down. I have a very basic setup with SkyTrak and it has been a blast to play on and I’d highly recommend it to anyone. Some of the most fun has been testing balls and seeing those results translate to a day on the course yesterday. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

Just checked in on the Governor of Maryland’s Twitter feed. They arrested a guy that had a bonfire with 60 people... that’s just dumb. They should have locked up the other 59 with him. The comments make my blood boil. Not sure what the heck is wrong with people that they can’t understand what “State of Emergency” means. Good grief, if they can’t follow simple tasks this crap will never go away.
