  1. I can't wait Derek! I'm actually planning to get a round in Saturday with some guys from work and it's going to be great to be out on the course after a couple of less than stellar weekends. When though I haven't seeing a club in a couple of weeks, I'm planning on having a good time and not being overly concerned on what I shoot, I just want to play.

  2. Another great call with a lot of discussion and topics covered. Another week with a lot of participation, 26 members on at various times all providing questions or answers through both the call itself and chat feature. Pretty cool for me to see Derek @EasyPutter on the course, especially since I was still at work and could only hope for that opportunity today. @Cfhandyman great video, I watched it after getting home, and thanks for providing some insight into the whole production during the Community Call. Already looking forward to next week's call with the yet to be announced guest.

  3. Oh what a feeling to be on the Community Call again from a golf course! seems like forever since I last joined a call from last year's regular course Elma Meadows GC along Buffalo Creek. Today was from my old regular course Cazenovia GC along Cazenovia Creek in South Buffalo bordering my town of West Seneca. That "stream" in the UK would be called a "river" and that ball under the tree was 2 feet from escaping like @Yellow Ball off for a swim down a 20 foot high and steep embankment. And you got it right I am trying to get back to my 20 handicap before Kingsmill AND trying to train the clubs and balls to miss the unplayable parts of the course! Thanks Jason! I'm always thinking of you when I connect in from a golf course to give you at least one vicarious round a week to be out there with me and 40 days tomorrow until we get to do it for real at Kingsmill

  4. Another week and another great call with various topics of discussion. Especially enjoyed the insight to @Cfhandyman's appearance on the CC channels fitting video as well as the discussion around swing styles/methods to gain speed while maintaining control.

  5. Took the Qi10 Max out today for 18 at Apple Tree Golf Course. ATGC is a par 71 course. Today, I shot a respectable 96 which is basically the same as shooting a 97 at Green Tree Golf Course my past two outings. Still, glad to not see much regression after a week and a half. The driver did exactly what I asked of it today, actually seeing a bit more carry distance but not more than a few yards. Was less focused on driving today as through the testing I did notice a decline with the consistency of my irons. So maybe, the less pressure in that area helped. All in all it was a great day (except 4 putting a par 3 ) but that is a completely different tale.

  7. Another range session, more incremental progress and a growing comfort level with the QI-10 core head. As an aside, I recently added a new toy to the bag. A 13.5 degree BRNR mini driver, that is an absolute pleasure to hit and when it produces shots such as this: Rapsodo_MLM2PRO_110051_18040713export.mov It gives me an insurance policy and takes the pressure off of being perfect with the driver. As if the QI knew it needed to get it’s act together, I managed this with the driver, which is more in line with what I want off the tee. Rapsodo_MLM2PRO_110051_18040726export.mov The work continues…

  10. @arodrig29 that Patriot bag is absolutely GORGEOUS my goodness. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Oreo bag, but after seeing @GolfSpy_BEN’s Patriot and now yours it is clear to me what my second choice would be. Great pics!

  14. Good question, the bag that came in has the strap for a right hand carry. Meaning once you put the bag on your back the clubs sit to your right. That being said, the straps are very easy to swap. I plan on taking some in depth pics about the process.

  15. I'm going with Bryson. The more I have watched his stuff the more I like him and his thought process on the course. I don't have the scientific brain and so much is feel, but the way he adjust the club depending on lie and thought process, I would love to play a round.

    The Good Morning Thread

We fortunately have a physical therapist at my office. She gave me some stretches and exercises to help. It felt better all day so I’m taking that as a positive! My son had a blast on the mower tonight. He put on his ear muffs and glasses and said “let’s do this” with two thumbs up!

I lost my gap wedge (Callaway Apex 21 A wedge) at a course that is not my home course. I’m not sure where I left it there. I didn’t notice it was missing until the 18th hole. I got fit for my clubs about three years ago thru Truespec golf which was awesome and I highly recommend them as fitters/builders, but they are expensive. I contacted them yesterday to see what the price would be to order a new A wedge…it came back as 400 after taxes…I almost pulled the trigger on it. I realized that it was way too much for a club, I put my foot down. I did a little searching and found that I could have the same exact club built from 2nd swing golf for less then half the price. im pretty bummed I lost a club and no one returned it, I’ve called the pro shop everyday for two weeks. Im pretty excited I found a good place to replace my club with the exact shaft and specs.

  24. I came to the conclusion that this was the year to finally retire both of my aging Bushnell Range Finders. Although both were still fully functional I felt it was time to replace them with a new one. After some due diligence and scouring innumerable golf sites (it received high praise and great reviews at this years PGA Show), I decided I would go with the new offering from Shot Scope, their Pro ZR Rangefinder. I've taken it out to the course a few times already and I'm more than pleased with it.

  25. The 659 TC are getting new shafts and a new look! Just pulled all the heads yesterday. Going to do some sort of clean up and then give into it! Should be fun and have been meaning to do this project for weeks and weeks!

  26. Nice! It's a great shaft. Understood. I have been keeping an eye on the mini drivers but some or the swings would be from turf and it's the biggest factor currently.

  31. Taco Golf from New Zealand. Their courses look amazing and they are all hilarious, great golfers. I just started watching his channel recently and have pretty much watched every video he's created as well as all the Luke Kwon New Zealand trips. I figure I could also ask them with help on my game since they are all pros. If you haven't seen him, check him out... OKEH!!!

  33. I got my second round in today with the new V5 from shotscope and the mindset balls. The mantra for today's round was focus, and be in the moment (mostly, not reliving a bad shot when it comes). Today's round while not my best, it was for sure the easiest round to manage my play and expectations. Early comparisons suggest this is working for me (while the tee shots are lower, fairways hit were much higher and putting was significantly higher for strokes gained). Last Year (2023) Today's round There really should a metric for calmness, I can't say enough how much easier the round felt today focusing on the mind set philosophy. Resting tomorrow, practice round Saturday and a 4 ball Match play event at Tehama on Sunday Happy Golfing....

  39. Mentioned this on the community call, but we are basically booked out till August 1st and still have 4 or 5 booked in August. It will be a full season which is great, but once again we will slow up a bit and focus more on the current reivews before reaching out to more brands.

  43. Nobody has seen a pink build. I personally don't have a problem with the "Bubba" model, but boy oh boy, I can just hear the razzing on the golf course. Mind you when I consistently make those 5-6 footers, that will shut them up. Look, if enough people demand it, I'm open to getting and testing it. So who wants to see me in pink?

  47. Introduction: April 17th, 2024 Ghost Golf ANYDAY bag – Official MGS Forum Review by ARodrig29 Hello to all the spies out there, Truth be told, I found this forum at the exact, perfect time. Though I only have been playing golf since 2011 (I picked up the game later in life), I was growing frustrated with its difficulty. Golf is hard, and I was stuck in the ditch of angst. However, reading through all the posts really gave me a sense of community, if only from afar. The insight into strength training, product technology and advancement, game improvement methods, amongst other topics. They have really helped me fall in love with the game again, and most importantly, the mindset of enjoying the game of Golf. Who am I? I am a 44 year old husband to an amazing woman and a father to an equally amazing little girl. I am very involved in my local church and try my best to be as involved as possible with our local community. Professionally, I have had some sort of attachment to the plumbing industry since before birth. Being the son and grandson of plumbers, you can say it has always been in the blood. I chose to go in a different route and went into the supply and product manufacturing side of the plumbing and mechanical industry, which I have worked in one capacity or other for over 20 years. What region do I play? I currently reside in the upstate South Carolina area. Being born and raised in Miami, Florida, I initially cut my teeth surrounded by water hazards and gators (see video). IMG_3109.MOV I then lived in upstate New York for a season and was blessed with a great group of friends. Not only golfers, but all-around great guys. Now, in upstate SC. I get to manage the ups and downs of mountain-ish golf. How long have you been playing golf? As I mentioned above, I didn't take up playing golf until later in life in my early thirties. That being said, I have made up for the "lost" time. What kind of golfer are you? I pondered this question as I didn't want to give a cookie cutter answer. Golf for me is all about relationships and tinkering. I have learned that in fact, I will never perfect my golf game. In the same way, I will never have perfect relationships. But they are both important to me and I look forward to working at bettering both for years to come. I play roughly 40 rounds a year with a 70% ride to 30% walk (using push cart) rate. I am currently a 16 handicap but have been as low as a 11 in years past. How do you want to test the Ghost bag? Because I am a creature of habit, I have used the same Titleist model Cart 14 bag for years. Being that I work in manufacturing, product manufactured details, features and benefits carry weight (pun intended). My goal in this test is to put to the test the comforts, features and benefits of the Ghost Anyday bag and how it compares to the Cart 14 bag I have used for so long. Do the manufactures listed weight read true? Do the pockets and their positions make a difference/benefit if you're walking vs. riding? How does the quality compare on things like stitching, inner liner materials, exterior material durability? Do the hinges used to connect the straps hold up? How well do the insulated sleeves hold up, can they actually help keep drinks cool in the summer heat? I can't say I knew much about the Ghost Golf brand until recently. But I can say that after reading reviews on MGS and diving into search engine reviews, it seems to be a great product. I am excited to see how well the Ghost bag holds up to my usage. I can be a bit of a pack rat, so I am curious as to how it will handle the weight. And be honest, Carbon Fiber on anything is cool, I mean, come on! Box opening and first impressions: My oh my, Christmas in April! The quality my friends is TOP NOTCH! I have a meeting this evening but wanted to drop the initial pictures and will provide a full write up in the morning.

  48. Introduction: Who am I? Wanted to say upfront thanks to the mod team for selecting me to test this product and to Ghost Golf for providing the bags for us to test. I’m Chris and live in Newport News, VA; which is about 20 minutes from MGS headquarters. I have been playing golf on and off since I was a teenager (I am now 57) and prior to actually getting out on a course I remember getting my hands on some clubs as a preteen with my neighborhood friends and hitting balls in a cemetery near the house where I grew up. I started playing on a regular basis in about 2000 when a friend invited me to play in his weekly group. The group has shrunk in size since then but I still play with a few from that group and play in my company’s golf league. My game has gone up and down through the years with my handicap getting as low as a 4 and is now about a 7. I am basically a huge golf junkie and love learning about products and all things golf which is why I volunteer my time to be one of HQ’s most wanted testers. Being a most wanted tester lets me hit a wide variety of clubs on the market but also lets me get access to see and touch lots of unique products in the golf world. Current Bag: Since we are testing golf bags it is probably a good idea to talk about my bag. I use a 2020 Callaway Fairway 14 which is a hybrid stand bag. It has numerous pockets to include one for pens, valuables, balls, cooler, phone, and general storage. What's in the bag? Based on a discussion in one off the forum threads, I weighed my current bag with everything in it and it came out to 27 ½ pounds. I carry the following: See my signature for the clubs Alignment sticks Lightweight rain suit Tour Striker SmartBall Shot Scope Rangefinder Sunglasses Club cleaning brushes Valuables bag with ball markers, tees, divot tools Lots of balls Towels Extra gloves Planned Testing Approach: First, I guess the biggest question to answer is why did I apply to perform this test. As mentioned above I am a most wanted tester so I am at MGS HQ quite frequently. One of the times I was there I Adam made the comment that I really needed to get a better bag. My typical approach to picking a bag is looking at the bags storage and evaluating if I think I can fit my stuff in the bag and finding the bag that is the least expensive. Until the Ghost Bag I have never owned what would be considered a premium golf bag. So, the main question I want to answer for myself and for the readers is whether a premium bag is worth the extra cost. I currently have several bags that sit in my golf club storage room holding backup clubs and I’ll be comparing the Ghost Golf bag against and identifying pros and cons to each. I don’t go through bags quickly and my current bag has been used for 4 years and shows minimal wear. Some of the things that I will be considering as part of this test: Storage Weight Stability of stand Add on features (cooler, glove holder, pockets, etc) Overall quality/value for the price Walking ability Push cart fit Driving cart fit General functionality As of the writing of this intro, I have spent some time on the Ghost Golf website and social media accounts. I know it was named the best premium bag during stand bag Most Wanted Testing and those on the forum that have the bag think it is great. Reading the Ghost Golf mission statement and about us information, they seem to be on the young trendy hip premium side of the golf fashion arena. On one of their Instagram videos the reviewer considers the bag to be “new school. Ironically that isn’t the side I typically lean toward; I am more on the old casual jeans and tee shirt frugal side Intro Wrap-up: As I go through my review, I’ll be posting more details about my experience with the bag. Let’s see if testing this premium bag can convert me from a buy the cheapest bag you can find to appreciating and wanting the premium product in the future. It also kind of makes me wonder if the premium bag will draw more attention to the bag and increase the chance of theft. That wraps up a quick intro about me and what I am hoping to learn and accomplish, but these reviews are done for you the MGS readers. Leave comments and ask questions about me, my thoughts, and what interests you with this product and if possible, I’ll give it a try and get you the information you need to make your own purchase decision.
