  1. I received the SuperSpeed Golf Kneeling pad and the Red club today. Many thanks to Daisy and Kyle! The pad seems nice and much better than the one I was using; but it doesn't have any assistance to help this 71-year old get off the ground! OMG!! The Red club is heavy! I am really impressed with all of the over 100 mph speeds I've been seeing from you guys with the Red club. The Blue club has been my heaviest, and tomorrow I will be using the Green, Blue, and Red clubs. I actually haven't seen much difference between the Yellow and Green clubs, so I don't think I will miss the Yellow club, but just getting the Red club out of the box, I can tell that it will be tough tomorrow. Wish me luck that I don't break something.

  5. Daisy also volunteered to look at a video of my swing. I truly appreciate that. Instead I’ve scheduled a lesson. My teacher knows my swing. I had a poor range session today but I played well last Friday and know my issue a matter of sequencing. On a great note my speed was back up in today’s workout. Was over 100 with all my green swings, 110 several times, fastest kneeling ever and over 100 several times lefty. I’m just faster in the afternoon than the morning. My better scores come in the afternoon. My faster swings come in the afternoon. I’m an afternoon evening golfer. I prefer to write in the morning. :) Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  10. I've just gained a new level of respect for my northern friends. Got my second session of week nine in tonight after work and was greeted to a temperature of 32 degrees. After layering up real good with thermals, a fleece jacket, and a beanie (toboggan to us southerners), I was good to go. I will say that a leather golf glove doesn't work out to well. I even chose to only record my fastest speed ala Kenny. I usually record everything, but I decided to smart thing to do was save time and get back inside to a heater. I had some good swings tonight hitting a high of 106 dominant and 103 non dominant. I say it was a good night and a great way to end the day. I got an email from Kyle today asking for me to send a video of my swing so they can offer some advice. I'm hoping the rain that's forecasted for the weekend doesn't hit so I can head out to the range and take care of this. @Kegger, the kneeling swings will get easier. After my first session my lower back was quite stiff, but as I've gotten used to it, it's not as bad. I'm glad to hear the air quality out in California has improved and an saddened by all the lives that have been affected by the fires. I'm glad to hear you're safe.

  15. They have a bunch of the older ones. I did happen to be there the day Guerin was doing the videos on his history so I got to putt with all the new models and get some putting help from Guerin. I am thinking the 8.3 will be the best fit. Will probably also get a gravity fit grip in addition to one of their pistol grips.

  16. So, I was really the only one of the four of us selected for last year's ST180 testing to get along with the club in a big way, so I love my Mizuno driver and if the ST190 is an upgrade, it's a hell of bomber. I don't see the need to upgrade myself and I actually prefer the blue over the black, but the tech is legit. I wouldn't be shocked to see a jump up for those with Mizuno irons to make the switch to a Mizzy driver.

  19. Figured you guys would love this - life at a private club. My 9 iron shaft broke at the handle on the range today - really? So the fitter recommended that 6 and 7 have a wider platform - SCOR 44 and Wilson C300 9 iron are now in the bag for Friday’s round, G30 8-6. We shall see. This is what he wants. I honestly launch the G 30 short irons higher than I’d like. I wonder how these two will perform. They have until New Years. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  21. I didn't play well on Sunday; poor chipping and putting. Yesterday I walked with guys at the club and played better; +2 on the front, then quit after #11 when it started raining. Rained most of the night, but quit about sunup. The course was wet, so today I decided to spend a couple of hours practicing. After a short warmup on the range and hitting a few drivers, I went to the pitching area. That was the worst part of my game this weekend. My tendency is to pull my shots left. I know they are range balls, but I'm not working on how the ball reacts on the green. I'm working on how straight to the target I can hit the ball. I hit a bucket of balls from 40 yards; OK but not great, so I picked them up and did it again. I focused on making more of a turn on my backswing; better... here's the result. Still have a way to go, but at least they aren't all to the left!! FYI, I was aiming for the back pin.

  22. Well the other week was my best round. Rewind to 1-2 years and I was struggling to get into the low 90's. The last year has mostly been in the 80's. Personal best was an 84 (different course). Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and I broke 80 for the first time with a round of 76. 27 Putts, 39% GIR (Probably why I had sub 30 putts), and 21 FIR% (Nothing wildly off the fairway). Most pars and birdies I've had in a round. 9 pars and 3 birdies. Only one double and one 3 putt. It was just one of those days where nothing was horrible and putting everything together.

If you combine this with my 36 from Monday that ties my personal best round of 71. I had the whole golf course to myself after work, and the putter was just working today as I made everything I needed to make and then some. I can’t post this to handicap as it was a solo round, but it’s a legit 71. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  28. I just finished my 2nd session this week, and first time with the Red club. I am really pleased with the results. Apparently, I like heavier clubs, which is why I play better with my driver than others that are lighter. I'll post this week's results after the 3rd session on Friday, but here are some surprising highlights: After the 10 warmup swings with the Red club, I hit 101 mph with the Green club on my first swing. I've been over 100 with Green before, but not many times. I hit 102 mph with the Blue club on a normal swing; I've only been 100 and over 3 times previously and only on Step Change swings. 102 is a personal best with the Blue club. Kneeling swing speeds were down a little. Red club was 95 mph Normal swing and 99 mph Step Change!! Using the Green club instead of the Yellow club for the final 3 swings produced 106 mph, a personal best with the Green club. Maybe it was the warmer weather... 47º an sunny headed for a high of 56º

  30. As long as you have a place inside, or warm weather, I think this is a great training program, and over the winter is the perfect time to get started. I don't do a lot of exercising, mostly stretching, but the warmup exercises don't take a lot of time and provide a good pre-golf regimen. Even if I don't see a lot of speed increase over what I have already achieved, the protocol is a workout, and after all, it is a golf swing!!

  31. Equal lofts don’t necessarily mean equal distances. With club advances and shaft fitting you may find that equal or even higher lifted clubs travel farther.

  33. Can confirm, it's a Fantrax bug. Every time I set the match ups, they revert back to this cross-conference default setup. I placed a ticket with them last night so I expect a response sometime today once they're in the office. They've been very good about fixing issues so far so I'll keep the faith. Just plan that the matchups will eventually reflect the bracket I posted.

  34. Still thinking about putters. I think I am going to go with an Evnroll, need to give them a call and see what model they recommend. Going to MGS headquarters on Friday so I will roll the models they have there to see what model and weighting I might like.

  39. Ryder Cup Style Team Event, Alternate Shot. 515 yard par 5. I'm on the tee, and I'm stroking on this hole, and the sequence goes like this as I tee the ball up: My partner: Just keep us in the short grass, I'll get us home. I proceed to absolutely 99% whiff the tee shot, I say 99% because somehow I nudged it about 8 inches off the tee to the right. I'm standing there stunned. Our opponent says: "Well there's your pop" My partner looking at me with lasers that could cut right through me I reply: Well it's in the short grass. Everyone cracks up. He hits it off the deck, we get to the ball and I have about 260 left, back then I had a bit of length, but still came up about 10 yards short right of the green on our 3rd. He chipped to about five feet. I've never been so nervous over a 5 footer in my life, but rolled it in for a par net birdie. As we walked off our opponent, said, "I'm not sure that's how the architect drew it up, but nicely done guys!"

  40. Week 7: In case you missed my previous post, due to the unhealthy air from the California wildfires, my SuperSpeed training had to be put on hold. The air is breathable again, and I finally finished my 7th week (a week behind the rest). With the 7th week comes the start of our next protocol level which includes kneeling swings. The kneeling swings are tough! After my first session, my back was rather sore. For my other sessions, I had to rely on the “modified” swing for the kneeling position (standing swing with feet together) due to the recent rainy weather. I just received my Stability Pro mat from SuperSpeed today, so hopefully I can continue with the kneeling swings rain or shine moving forward! As with the others, my maximum speeds have dropped, but I’m sure much of this is due to the increase in number of swings per session.

    Got Problems?

A boil water doesn’t mean there is something wrong with your water, it means there’s a possibility something is wrong. A boil water is issued until samples can be taken and sent off to the lab for bacterial test. A boil water is actually a good thing, it means the water guys are doing their job. Shouldn’t last more than 2-3 days. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  49. Par 4, I hit a perfect tee shot... maybe 260, left center fairway. 2nd shot is about 120 ish carrying a pond to the green. Wet... the drop is from about 75 yards. I got to the green with the 12th shot, 2 putts for a 14. Total Tin Cup moment. (I could have putted around the pond, along the cart path, to the green, and gotten like an 8 or 9) Another time, though this isn't really the worst: My tee shot carries dogleg over weeds on the right into the fairway, no bounce. I saw it land, no bounce. I couldn't find the ball. It must have plugged, it was wet. I believe the rules here state you take your third shot from as close a spot as you last saw/know it was? Or is underneath the fairway in the Upsidedown and technically out of bounds? Either way, I dropped where I thought it landed, and holed it. It would have been my first and only eagle. Stoked on the birdie, and of course the hole-out.
