Feeling pretty proud of myself. Started (officially) in a new role this week, and my employer did a profile of me for their social media. https://www.facebook.com/BarwonHealth/?__tn__=kC-RH-R&eid=ARAM9FnQGbF_0tlqymNm0OgThfbIjedKhQLVVIS-NOpyXyU7TTKrUV41USdOiOmHCFbwgoFgGncs4iK5&hc_ref=ARRF-kWeHEZBdclHK_YFfwSFSdHONt_nZkGqMWt0oaCrzKSDXLwdf1kCFn-lP2zdPpg&fref=nf&__xts__[0]=68.ARCfAXTPwDgvSdVadumGuDy78KB_Z1WjCH6xdnb2FixGFvaapLcvpNbICqTBmcLJumUVMEy5vQvZWsL9nyc9mwa4LGqmC8Sd7hIGVwYbrTJg-tac1P4jy8gxb2bD08dYLBXATOqOH7OnhUtigp8XOOduuB6q8IbmYidSRgbN914pTyRoKToyPnDmBatDtS8Xwc8iyS6Tr74Lh2d4SJdVsm4lWB-nPz5TnwGHt4sPIygMwdVDKRGGtRYNjHhohtCq8bhQfoW0IEWtVlwoWCBEAFfE38YSdMqBixGNj2kIezF6kOaK3w8hq7WHfSMPVqX6hnEyg3HBAi_280Nqebm-EGjhwPg2zwMoxwm1cQg5sOgqzXw Apart from me not thinking my hair is as red as the picture, I'm pretty pleased with how it came up.

Got out for 18 today and more B X testing. 36/47 for an 83 8/14 FiR 10/18 GiR 34 Putts After playing even on the front with 2 birds and 2 bogeys and feeling really good. I hooked one OB onto the street on #11 for a quad, and tripled #16. What a dumb hobby, haha!

I’ll be tied up for the next week. I still owe you guys some stuff on the Blueprints. What I’m currently dealing with at work has occupied almost every day of the week since December 1. Was expecting to be done today, only to run into a bigger, more problematic issue. I can’t defeat this dang thing yet. Nearly there, so for now, please accept my apology for slacking lately.

Played my first round for 3 weeks, weather was a bit of a challenge, with light drizzle making it particularly difficult to judge the speed on the green. Shot 12 over, highlights were making bogey after hitting my tee shot OOB and holing a bunker shot (unfortunately it was for par) Drove ok, with 2 bad drives that cost me shots, and irons were pretty solid. I really need to get out on the course more.

Played 18 today and continued to see a lot of what I've been seeing: Ball seems a little longer Doesn't feel as "sticky" around the greens as a V1X What I also noticed today is it seems like a more "boring" or flat flight compared to V1X. I was 2' from an ace from 165 out, probably would've guaranteed a spot in my bag if that happened. Felt like a jerk because the guy we played with hit one to 4' right before that, and I put it inside of his, whoops!

When I was a LOT younger the drinking didn’t bother me but now I prefer to stay away from trouble. The WM is really not a Tournament anymore but closer to a Frat/Spring Break party. Hope nobody gets hurt. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Okay, my fitting visit at the TPI Training Institute is scheduled for March 13. They have been very accommodating and I am looking forward to the trip. I plan to get some rounds in before the visit so I will be ready for the fitting.

I personally don't see a debate. What's there to debate? If you like playing a white ball so be it. (I do) If you prefer anything else - have at it. A debate might be approprite if perhaps the USGA were banning the white ball or a colored one. But they're not. Carry on and have a nice day.

I'm in Procurement. I literally do contract negotiations for a living haha
  11. 3 points
Yup. Drivers, woods, hybrids and irons were 5 years. Wedges were 3 years. No mention of putter in the contract. That being said - if the purchase is funded by gift cards and selling two extra clubs I have laying around, then it's no money out of pocket either

I gotta say, for winter time this place is great. I get to hit balls, work on distance control and ball contact. This got me to thinking. How do the Topgolf balls compair to my Bridgestone TourB RX???? I the spirit of"Find it cut it", as I was leaving one day I happened upon a wayward ball out in the street. Size and weight were exactly the same as my Bridgestone. So I just had to cut it open, here's what I found...
  13. 2 points
... I think I posted this earlier but it is worth repeating. The "new" ball spins less off woods enabling players to hit it higher and farther. The old 4/5 woods with the higher spinning ball launched high with a lot of spin and could balloon or just lose distance compared to a 3 wood. Of course high swing speed players can still take advantage of todays 3 wood because even with lower spin, they can launch it high enough to maximize performance. But slower swing speed may not be able to launch a 3 wood high enough with a lower spinning ball and they can maximize distance with a higher launching 4/5 wood and can hit it even farther than a 3 wood.

I wouldn't feel bad at all about winning the lottery. I work hard every day. I earn the money I "invest" in participating in the lottery. If my investment were to pay off, I wouldn't have one guilty feeling whatsoever.

For me at least the comparison to a current phone app would be ideal, particularly image overview of the hole between the two and any differences on distances. If you do the comparison please let us the the app and phone you were using. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

How long have you been playing golf? Since 1977, when I was 17. What’s your handicap or normal score? Averaged 41 this years in a 9 hole league, 75 is good, 85 is bad. What do you love about golf? Out-driving my brother. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Saw it on Youtube. Do you already know any other Spies? No Where are you from? Rochester, MI What is your home course? Don't really have one, but I play at Copper Hills, Stoney Creek, Blackheath, Pine Valley, Glacier, Orchards, Greystone What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Great, plush fairways but slow greens. Then there is the weather, which is bad from Dec-March. What do you do for a living? PLC Programmer, who is at the end. How’d you pick your user name? Slow is how I walk up stairs, low for my stomach. Has nothing to do with my takeaway with the driver. This is Carl's Golfland, a few years back, this is how some of us practice golf in December.

Must have had an “Alien Possession”. After a couple weeks of dismal play shot 3 over 1 double & 1 bogie. I switched out the G410 irons and replaced with the Mizzies. It wasn’t the irons fault just from tempo & swing plain. No bacon for me this morning!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Okay we are back in the rainy season here in Georgia so I thought I'd do an update. First off the suit is holding up well no rips, tears or other issues, in fact, it still looks brand new. I wear the jacket everywhere when it's raining out and still find it very comfortable. I wore the pants as pants for the first time 2 weeks ago, previously I had worn them over golf shorts, and they were quite comfortable. We played on a particularly swampy day and a few swings threw mud all over me, which easily washed off with wet cloth after the round. So almost a year later still loving the Galway Bay rain suit!

Dang, Joe got called-out! I thought the same thing, but wasn’t gonna do him like that! He did put in his post that Stockton says one should have multiple putters, so I’m sure his contract with the wifey stated that in an addendum.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

https://www.pgashow.com/en/Exhibitors/5930709/FlightScope/Products/1720192/FlightScope-Mevo I saw this on the PGA Show website this morning. I have been saving up for a FlightScope Mevo (non-plus) to replace my Swing Caddie SC200 for range use, but this intrigues me. I have just enough room for indoor radar use, so if this integrates with some sort of driving range feature to simulate ball flight, I might just need to save up a little longer. I had been hoping for a SkyTrak for garage use by next winter -- this has the potential to be a good competitor in the sub-$2k range.

I bought a Swingbyte a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the data it provided (club path, club face, loft, lie, etc). They also had great customer service! The company seems like they fell off the map and haven't updated the software or website in well over a year. I also did a search for other swing analyzers and this area has seemed to dry up. I had hope these devices would translate into a golf simulator. Anyone see any updates in the market or any new swing analyzers?

So being a Phoenician of nearly 27 years I've probably been to the Garbage Open 4 times. Every time I go I'm reminded of why I don't go often and promise myself never to go back. Being a SW golf Mecca, it just blows my mind why we can't get just 1 more big but normal event here. If I had a dollar for every true local golf enthusiasts that I know personally who takes a hard PASS on the WM, I'd have enough money for a round at TPC Snobsdale (growing up in Mesa, and having a wife raised in Scottsdale, I've earned the right to call names). [emoji12] Honestly I can think of other better places than a PGA event for ASUs freshman class to take their weekend field trip. Ok, I'm climbing down from my mile-high soapbox tirade now. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get..

Played 18 with only my white ball stash. Played whole round with same ball. Simply put: the best round I have played in close to 3 decades! Played men's forward tees 5310 yards. TOTAL SCORE: 78!! NO penalties, NO 6's, 11 pars, 2 fairway sand traps that did not affect scores at all 30 putts, 85% fairways off the tee. Drives were longer than ever: 210-235 on all driver uses, and well centered in terms of line. Some of that must be the result of comfort with my PING G410+ driver. I have only had it for just over 2 months. Still every time better results. Perhaps a solid combination of both additions. The greatest improvement was in the way the ball bit on wedges and chips. I think I had saved 4-6 strokes on that alone. Add a few lucky breaks, good putting and no penalties, I am ecstatic. It is fair to add that as this was the first time playing the RX on course; it had to have a solid contribution .

At the Big Rock Indian Springs course in Indio, they closed the 18th green (temporary green set up in the fairway. Classic and hot rod gathering along the #18 cart path. View from my table on the patio... as they left when it started to get dark, I got to see all the cars as they drove past me to the parking lot. I've never seen a 4x4 Corvette before ...

I rolled putts in my basement along a 3ft ruler working on start line. Having not touched a club since October, I would say it was a successful little session. Nothing strenuous, but enough to show my some errors in my putter stroke and to ease my suffering through these dark and cold months.

I went in for my first ever lesson back in early December, and my instructor had me work on widening out my backswing. I was wayy off plane at first, which surprised me. Worked on that at home for a few weeks, then went back in for lesson #2 last week. Really pleased with the progress from the first session! Our second lesson he pointed out that I don't quite turn my hips early enough, so I'll be adding that in to staying on plane as well. We also took a look at my putting stroke, which I was pleasantly surprised with. It turns out I set up quite open, and then have a tendency to pull putts, but they were pretty consistent pulls. I guess that counts for something! Definitely anxious for the Spring so I can test out some of these changes on a real course, instead of artificial turf ranges and living room carpet.

Was it the original Mevo that required the small metallic stickers? I assume the Mevo+ does not?
  46. 1 point
Yes. And believe it or not, they aren't using these anymore. I know you're offended by ths news
  47. 1 point
I'm all in favor of more competition in the sub-$2,000 home launch monitor division, only if (like is apparently true of the Mevo+) they start including side spin. At present, that is the biggest feature that separates the SkyTrak from the sub-$500 class of LMs: they can't tell you if your ball is curving. I don't know about the rest of you, but with my golf game, that ends up being a relevant factor pretty often The biggest question with the Mevo+ that I'll be interested in is its indoor performance. In general, radar-based LMs do better the longer the flight of the ball that they can track. That's why so many indoor studios use GC Quad over TrackMan.
  48. 1 point
A home launch monitor is the best money I've ever spent on golf. Picked up a SkyTrak but it would be nice to have more options with similar data like the Mevo+ may have. Normally I wouldn't practice at all or even pick up a club this time of year. Instead I can't wait to get home and hit balls and it has eliminated the winter golf blues of playing actual golf. I've learned a ton about my game in the short time I've had it such as how to reduce driver spin, best ball position for various clubs and how many swings it takes me to truly warm up. It would be great if the Mevo+ comes in at an aggressive price point so more people can enjoy the benefits.

How about SwingTIP, it comes with Mobicoach service as well. SwingTIP analyzes your swing across five swing checkpoints: address, takeaway, top of swing, halfway through downswing and impact. It displays your swing from three angles (target, front, top) and lets you compare a current swing to your “favorite swing. ” SwingTIP pinpoints strengths & flaws on nine power and plane aspects, reports on key impact metrics, and provides instruction tips and videos for improvement.
