  1. Update for folks wondering. @GolfSpy STUDque has gone through and selected the divisions, we are currently putting them together on the back end and making last minute tuneups to scoring (aka adding the carry bonus), testing to make sure everything runs as intended, and getting things set. Expect a post hopefully later today with divisional announcements, draft times, and all the stuff you're craving.

  5. I'm lucky because he has done an excellent job explaining himself in more than one place! I'm honored to be playing with fellow Spy @ncwoz this upcoming weekend. Really early in the season, pre-COVID, Nate flagged me down at one our local courses just as I was about to tee off No. 1. I think the plan was to originally get together for a round sometime earlier this summer, but with everything going on it just hasn't happened. I figured this challenge was as good of an opportunity as we were going to get. From what I know about his game, I'm hoping he's an asset off the

  6. Hit some great shots and some really bad ones for a 93. The new swing continues to make it frustrating to play but is improving. The two highlights of the round was I managed 270 off the tee on 3 holes and I had no 3 putts.

  7. We had our annual Ryder cup style event this weekend. Made 8 birdies over 2 days and won my singles match 2 up. Halved the 4 ball. Also had 4 doubles. Ugh. Tidy up some loose swings and short misses and I shoot 68/69. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  8. Let me explain, I created one for a 16 round draft, then I created one with a 14 round draft. These are likely not the final order because @GolfSpy STUDque and I, plus the other commissioners are discussing roster maximums and how they will work with Covid. I will probably need to create one more draft order, which will be the final draft order. Disregard those two emails

  10. Everyone's getting a 'breakfast ball' except for @MattF and @Mr_Theoo. They both said they're arriving early and going to the driving range. I think they're really secretly going to #1 to scope it out before all of us get to the tee box. .

  12. I think I should start whining. OK, today was better... if you call 87 better than 88. Nothing good happened today, but nothing really bad either; only one double. Seemed like I was always scrambling to make a par... and didn't. I think I need a break.

  13. I assume you're asking about the cart flamingo in my profile photo. Luckily we don't have any tunnels. No, that flamingo is long gone. We had a cart decorating contest along with our Flamingo Tournament (we won!). We did drive it throughout the tournament but a low tree limb close to the end caught the neck and demolished it. We have fun decorating our carts for special events. Like every Christmas we have a night time lighted cart and old car parade through the neighborhoods that surround our course. It's fun, a fire truck leads us blowing the horn and I hang off the back of our cart to

  14. Another 81 after putting together a nice 39 on the front, though needing a couple birdies to get that done just not able to keep it together on the back, closing in 42. Driver was a bit all over the place, but working on some swing changes so it was to be expected. Onto the next one.

Week 6 Recap Competitors: Our heroes went flag hunting this and almost delivered on the perfect moment of a Hole in One during the challenge. @Headhammer went out with a BANG leaving his within 2 inches and, literally, inching out @B.Boston for this week's win. With another consistent week, @daviddvm holds on to the the top spot (by virtue of tiebreaker) with the duck boats hot on his heels. Unfortunately we're losing Hammer to injury from here on out but he can certainly be proud of his recent surge up the leaderboard. Fans: Halloween costumes were RIGHT. You guys are scary. W

  17. Had a fun time playing with my oldest son and my dad today. My father in law couldn’t make it so @Lacassem’s brother played with us. I shot a smooth even par 27 with 5 GIR and 4 up and downs. I wish I could make all approach shots like that on a regular course! The holes varied today from a low of about 90 yards to a long of 170. It was a surprising mix of looks with some up and down hill too. None of my shots really tracked to the flag as I was favoring a cut shot today that I never started far enough left. I was happily pin high a lot so I’ll take it. Here are a

  18. Welp, that’s the worst round of the challenge for me... at this point, I’m deciding which screenshots of my “adventures” make the cut. Need to work on some consistency apparently... Yes, that’s a 49 yard drive off the opening tee. Scramble much? That ain’t the right fairway. Nor are you supposed to be on the previous hole’s teebox for your third. “Nice drive dumba$$!” -me on the green “Wait, it’s where?!?” - me to the group on the 8th hole. Not cart path aided. Must have been doping before that shot...

  19. Man, what a crazy tough league. I had 8 guys for the tournament this weekend (though Leishman did end up with negative points) and four set for next week and it still wasn't enough to get to the championship. Thanks to MGS for running the league again this year and good luck to the final 10 teams!

  21. Thanks for caring. We did it again today. We are part of an active fun group of golf friends that play some kind of game almost every Sat and Sun. Today there were 26 of us braving the heat, but no walkers in this oven. I wouldn't want to walk in this heat, it's too far back to the pro shop if you need to quit. Everyone stayed hydrated and drove our carts from one shady spot to the next. One man even brought an ice chest full of new Gatorade flavors (like watermelon) and Gatorade golf towels to share with all of us. Used my umbrella on the greens to stay cool through #8 when a little breeze ki

  22. Save for a little compression at the top between the 4 iron and 2 hybrid, I've been really impressed with the gapping as well, even the six degree drop from gap to 54 has been more than manageable. I'm strongly considering dropping the 4 iron and replacing it with a SpeedZone 4 hybrid (21 degrees) and I think it would be about perfect. I'm really digging the SpeedZone irons more and more as I've been playing more. Since the initial club reviews were so early on in the process, I want to do a mini-follow up on the driver, irons and wedges when this is all over. I wouldn't change my overall

  24. I played a full round Sunday with my Grandson and had a great day. 1st time I really got to us these on the course.. As someone who normally does not get a lot of stop on my wedges these wedges created some problems for me. typically play short of the flag and let the ball release, well that did not happen. I left several shots Shorter than I wanted.. On a couple of full shots the Ball went NOWHERE.. literally, No where.. this 1st shot was a full 58* from about 70yds into the 1st green. As you can see it slammed on the Brakes. this was to about 15ft. missed the birdie, but made par.

  25. My wife's been complaining about the smell of my feet the last few weeks after my rounds, so a new pair of sneaks were in order. Per the MGS spikeless shoe buying guide, I ordered a pair of the Inesis Waterproof shoes, and am impressed! Not sure I'm 100% sold on the style, but everything else is an A+ on initial impression. Never had spikeless shoes before, but this outsole looks like it'll grip well. And for only $79.99, yes please!

I've already received the product and they surprised all of us testers with variety packs so we'll each get to test the oil tincture, gummies, and topical cream!!! I want to see if I can identify some solid, objective, numerical evidence to support whatever results I experience using these CBD products. My plan is to create a 10-day baseline and then use the products for 30-days and re

  28. After 3 weeks off, I shot 104. Ouch. Turns out if you don't play or practice for a few weeks your feel goes to crap. Overall it was a good day and it was crazy windy. Everyone in my foursome was about 15 strokes higher than usual.

  29. As someone who lived in Arizona for the better part of 3 years. Hydration hydration hydration. Especially if the water is cold, it can be a life saver. My record was 5 water bottles on the course and a 6th in the car. Played twice after my 35. Had to find out if it was the barefeet that made the difference from that under par round. I played another 9 barefoot at our sister course Thursday and started bogey bogey. After that, I was even coming in. Other than a ball in the water on an island green and a follow up birdie after driving the green on a par 4, they were almost all tap in p

  32. ... Funny how that works. We would gladly give up several days of golf for some rain. This is the driest I can remember courses and our homes/gardens/trees in a long time. I don't care about the grass but the trees need water. We are just in a pocket where rain has fallen 20 miles north or south of us but we have gotten zero rain. After the wettest May in history we are paying for it now.

  33. Sorry to hear about your friend, and glad she is better now. My wife got heat stroke on a 4th of July party many years ago and still has problems when the temps get above 100. One time during a golf tournament at the Marriott Starr Pass in Tucson in July, she was riding with a friend of ours when we came off a green and the route to the next tee crossed a street. The clubhouse was 1/2 block down the street, and she said that he could take her to the clubhouse now, or call an ambulance on the next tee. They went to the clubhouse. Another trip to Phoenix we played TPC Scottsdale in Ju

  35. Had a fun 3 day weekend up at lake Winnipesaukee in NH. Had only 1 nice day but my daughter enjoyed puddle jumping downtown in the rain. Nice to get away and just unplug with family on the boat, playing cards and crushing some margaritas even though it wasn’t the warmest weekend. my son on the way back still insists he wasn’t sleeping.....needless to say all the kiddos are wiped

  36. I did make it out to my local course yesterday and I did avoid a heat stroke thanks to an isolated shower that pleasantly interrupted my round between the 5th and 6th holes. I was striking the ball well on the first hole and almost sunk a long birdie putt from just off the green, then after a good drive on the second I hit a series of horrible shots that made me wonder if the effort was worthwhile in the heat. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, And The Uglier! What's going on here? I tried to refocus. Hit pretty nice drive into some newl

  39. I played 3 rounds this weekend while using the watch. Working on formulating my full thoughts, but I have to say so far I've been torn on how I feel about the watch and the software. The amount of detail is almost overwhelming at times and I've found it distracting. I'll look at the contour of the greens and the yardage to clear bunkers and stay safe and it clutters my mind. I am seeing somewhere around ~1 stroke a hole lower on the holes I strictly use the front middle back information. Unfortunately, yesterday I caught a root in the rough on the 17th hole in my downswing and have sprain
