  1. My daughter is home, safe and sound! The fam and I all appreciate the kind words from everyone who was thinking about her. She's still a little zoned out from the meds, but she's got Netflix and she asked for her favorite blueberry muffin from Dunkies to munch so, hopefully she keeps that one down (those meds side effects are no joke). We'll be back up in Boston on Tuesday for our first followup with the surgeon, fingers crossed for a good report. Thanks again everyone.

  2. I hope that those WTF messages are nonexistent this time around, but I doubt it. I have learned in the past couple of days, how much work is done by the staff and also learned some more about the staff themselves, from conversations. So if you guys have not heard recently. Thank you @Golfspy_CG2 @GolfSpy MPR @GolfSpy Stroker and @GolfSpy STUDque for the hard work and dedication you guys put day in and day out to this forum.

  3. CARLSBAD, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2020) – Faster in the air and faster at impact, the new Titleist TSi drivers push the boundaries of speed through advanced engineering and material breakthroughs – including a new ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium face construction never before used in golf – that combine to produce the longest, straightest, best-looking, and best-sounding Titleist drivers ever. Available in golf shops Nov. 12, with fittings beginning today at locations nationwide, the new TSi2 and TSi3 models transcend the advancements of the original Titleist Speed Project, accelerating the performance that has made Titleist the most played driver on the PGA Tour for two seasons running. From the top of the swing, TSi’s player-tuned aerodynamics propel the clubhead faster toward the golf ball. At impact, the extremely powerful ATI 425 face launches the ball with added speed. High inertia properties produce an extremely stable clubhead, providing players with more consistent speed and spin across the face for longer, straighter drives: • TSi2 is designed to deliver incredible speed and accuracy across the entire surface of the face, with a deeper, lower CG to maximize distance. • TSi3 is for players capable of creating more consistent contact or requiring more precise control over CG placement, featuring a new SureFit CG Track Design for advanced speed-tuned performance. “TSi is simply better when it comes to all four fundamentals of driver design – distance, accuracy, looks and sound,” said Josh Talge, Vice President, Titleist Golf Club Marketing. “We continue to make every investment necessary to help players achieve the speed and distance gains they are asking for, without having to make any sacrifices when it comes to performance. ATI 425 is an incredible breakthrough for driver performance, but it’s just one piece of the puzzle. Every aspect of TSi has been optimized to benefit the total package, and it’s the integration of all those parts that drives greater ball speed and an experience at impact that tour players can’t stop talking about.” The first week that TSi drivers were made available on the PGA and European Tours in early September, a total of 57 players immediately made the switch, with more players choosing TSi drivers than any other model across the two events. The following week at the U.S. Open, TSi was the most played driver model at Winged Foot Golf Club. “TSi just looks fast and it sounds like a missile coming off the face,” said Justin Thomas. “When I first tested it I hit one drive off the toe and it carried almost 20 yards further than I would have thought. That’s what we want is the bad ones to perform better. Those weeks where I’m not hitting it consistently in the middle of the face, I feel like this [TSi driver] is going to have the opportunity for me to narrow my window and dispersion… The fact that it is faster without giving anything up – I can’t believe how much it’s improved when it already seemed to be the best that it can get.” ATI 425 AEROSPACE TITANIUM FACE Accurately tuned for speed at every point of contact, TSi driver faces are constructed from ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium, a unique material that delivers superior strength, elasticity and durability versus the conventional titanium alloys used in golf. The exceptional ductility of ATI 425 (30 percent higher than 6-4 Titanium) allowed engineers to produce Titleist’s fastest driver face, while maintaining the durability properties required for consistent maximum performance. “ATI 425 is an amazing alloy that leads to a lot of performance benefits,” said Dan Stone, Senior Vice President, Titleist Golf Club R&D. “It’s incredibly strong and maintains elongation under high stress. It let us optimize the thickness of the entire face to a degree that was never possible before and generate our highest ball speeds ever at points all over the face – not just heel and toe but also high and low. This is not an easy material to obtain, but the benefits to the golfer are beyond anything we’ve ever seen.” Made by a single foundry in Pittsburgh, ATI 425 was initially developed for ballistic armor applications and has since been used in many aerospace and commercial aircraft solutions, including jet engines and NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander. Titleist is the only company in golf that uses this material. The TSi face also features a new high-contrast graphic design that accentuates face center for easy alignment at address. PLAYER-TUNED AERODYNAMICS & SOUND The improved shaping of TSi allows the club head to move faster through the air and deliver a more powerful impact. Both TSi2 and TSi3 have been aerodynamically engineered to reduce drag up to 15 percent (versus prior generation TS models), increasing club head speed for greater ball speed and distance. The new head shapes feature a tour-requested softer toe profile that looks square at address. TSi feels fast in a golfer’s hands and is complemented by meticulous sound engineering that manages vibrations within the club head to deliver a Tour-quality sound. MULTI-DIMENSIONAL STABILITY While golfers often equate “high MOI” with heel to toe forgiveness, Titleist R&D employs a more holistic approach to MOI design. TSi also optimizes sole to crown performance, producing up to 13 percent higher inertia values (versus prior generation TS models) that deliver more speed and a tighter launch and spin range up and down the face. TSi’s speed-optimized MOI works in concert with a low and deep CG position to drive faster ball speed with a high launch, low spin trajectory and exceptional stability for greater distance consistency. PERFORMANCE-TUNED ADJUSTABILITY The new TSi3 model features a new SureFit CG track technology that offers five unique positions to adjust club head CG and fine-tune ball flight. The track offers more precise incremental adjustments – H2 (most heel biased), H1, Neutral, T1, T2 (most toe biased) – allowing a player to dial-in their launch conditions. Both TSi2 and TSi3 feature Titleist’s patented SureFit hosel with 16 independent loft and lie settings, plus headweight adjustability (in two-gram increments, ranging from -4g to 4g) to create a more consistent and optimized ball flight through precision fitting. CT TESTED AND MAXIMIZED Every TSi driver is precision manufactured to the tightest tolerances and measured multiple times to ensure performance is at the maximum allowable limit. TSi2: PURE DISTANCE For players seeking incredible speed and accuracy across the entire the surface of the face. • Maximum distance and forgiveness • ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium face technology • Exceptionally stable high-MOI design • Adjustable Swingweight, Fixed CG Location
 • High launch, low spin
 • Aerodynamically optimized, Modern Shape, 460cc
 • Available Lofts: 9.0, 10.0, 11.0 TSi3: DYNAMIC DISTANCE For players who create more consistent contact and require more precise control over CG placement. • Precision performance and dynamic forgiveness. • ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium face technology • Five-setting SureFit CG track and adjustable swingweight
 • Mid/High Launch, Low Spin
 • Aerodynamically optimized, Traditional Shape, 460cc
 • Available Lofts: 8.0, 9.0, 10.0 FEATURED AND PREMIUM SHAFTS The TSi shaft selection has been assembled to offer world-class options for every swing speed and profile preference. Golfers can choose from four high performance featured shafts or upgrade to one of three premium shafts available through Titleist’s new partnership with Graphite Design. • The featured shaft lineup includes four new aftermarket models – Mitsubishi KURO KAGE™ Black Dual-Core 5G (High launch and spin), Mitsubishi TENSEI™ AV RAW Blue (Mid launch and spin), HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX (Low-mid launch and spin) and Mitsubishi TENSEI™ AV RAW White (Low launch and spin). Moderate swing speed players will benefit from Straight Flight Weighting (SFW) technology, which promotes straight flight in lightweight driver shaft options (KURO KAGE Black Dual Core 50 and TENSEI AV Raw Blue 55). • Graphite Design’s premium offerings include three of the most coveted shaft models on tour and throughout the golfing world – Graphite Design Tour AD DI, Graphite Design Tour AD IZ and Graphite Design Tour AD XC (Xtra Carry) – engineered with aerospace-quality carbon-fiber materials for incredible stability, consistency and feel. • In addition, Titleist offers an industry-leading number of custom shaft choices. INSTANT TOUR ADOPTION TSi has become the most played driver on both the PGA and European Tours since being introduced to players the second week of September. In total, more than 150 players across the worldwide professional tours have played new TSi2 or TSi3 models in competition over the past five weeks. There are currently 20 players in the Official World Golf Rankings Top 100 carrying a new TSi model, including four in the OWGR’s Top 20 – Justin Thomas (TSi3) and Adam Scott (TSi3), in addition to two others playing TSi3 without an agreement. Among the Titleist players transitioning into the new TSi2 are Cameron Davis, Tyler Duncan, Lanto Griffin, Chesson Hadley, Brian Harman, Tom Hoge, Mark Hubbard and C.T. Pan. Those choosing to play the new TSi3 include: Ben An, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Lucas Bjerregaard, Bud Cauley, Charley Hoffman, Max Homa, Charles Howell III, Patton Kizzire, Peter Malnati, J.T. ... Speaking as someone that hates playing in the cold*, especially windy cold, I would cancel and make the first competition a fun and warm one. Nothing worse than having your hands/fingers lose their feel while trying to play. Bright sun can certainly help but 46* is pretty cold to stay loose and swing freely, especially if the wind chill puts those temps in the 30's. *I was born and raised in the South so I imagine my blood is just not suited for the cold even though I have been here for 42 years now.

TSi tester thread is closed, looks like testers could/should be announced today. I didn't apply but I've paid attention to the thread...I know I've said it before but I can't believe how many responses are first time posters, incomplete or wrong responses, etc. One guy said he wants to test the TSi4?! Honestly, there was a time that I posted only to the testing opportunities. Looking back now, that's pretty damn embarrassing to admit. Having to distill all those responses down to just the legitimate candidates, and then picking from among them, has to be painful.

I did my last Occupational Therapy yesterday--- Did a mile on the treadmill in 15: 35 not bad for being about 60 lbs overweight and a healing up back. Those OT sessions are 3 hrs each and I did my last of 15 series yesterday. Went today and hit 55 balls on the range usually been hitting 25. I am back at about 80% on distance. Had absolutely no pain or stiffness today. May do 55 tomorrow but hit at it a tad harder. Also did 3 15 minute putting sessions. Getting through the ball good. Rested between sessions and had no stiffness or problems getting out of the chair. Basically I did my golf therapy style for 3 hrs with plenty of rest breaks

  8. ... After my full bag club fitting I made a few changes. I bought a SIM Max 10.5* head and found a Diamana Limited 55 R Flex shaft on eBay I paired with it. Yesterday was my first round and due to 45+ mph winds I can't make any comparisons to my Cobra Xtreme as far as performance. I hit a 330 yd drive with the wind at my back and considering I usually drive the ball in the 240-260 range I think we can safely say that was an outlier LOL. I was very reluctant to try a R Flex shaft in my driver as my S Flex seems to work well on the course. But I had zero issues with dispersion and actually hit some of the most accurate drives of the season only missing 3 out of 11 fairways where I used driver. And the 3 I missed were just a little off. So I am really looking forward to playing this combo in normal conditions. I also installed an Even Flow Blue 85 hy R Flex shaft (tipped 1/2") in my UDi 2 iron and with that silly wind hit 2 shots longer than my normal driver on those holes. ... Also playing it at 44.75" I had to add some lead tape inside and around the stock weight to get it to D1 so I just bought an aftermarket 25gm weight to replace the stock 18gm weight and that should get me to my preferred swing weight of D1. I am also a little surprised by the sound/feel of the SIM Max that is very dense and muted reminding me of my GBB Epic using 2 weights. I have picked up another SIM adaptor from Golfworks and will install it on my Tensei Orange S Flex, my go to shaft and see if the performance is better than my R Flex Diamana. I have to admit at age 67, a lighter and softer flex shaft sounds like something I can appreciate if it continues to work for me. I was a little shocked to see no ballooning into that strong wind yesterday, something I was expecting with a softer and lighter flex.

Most of us, myself included, started with the intent of only applying to test clubs, but some have since become very involved with the community. I know @Golfspy_CG2 and the rest of the selection committee spend a long time sorting the valid applications from the clutter on the past few days, then to work out the best candidates from that list. It is some hard work right there.

So I’ll try to make a long story short...I’m a diehard Broncos fan, and for Christmas my wife got me a personalized jersey with the number 18, and told me it was to signify our January 8th anniversary. THIS WAS THE CHRISTMAS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE OUR WEDDING. (Before they signed Peyton Manning.) In giving me the gift she told me that now I had a jersey I could always wear instead of having the players jerseys I had who retired or got traded. (Bailey, Tebow, Cutler, etc.) She then held up her own 18 Broncos jersey and said “see, I have one too.” What did my dumbass say? “We’re not married yet, you could still get traded.” Wasn’t born with a great brain-to-mouth filter.

    How'd you play?

... I had a 1:50 tee time today which was right into the teeth of an insane wind. Opening hole is 363 and I hit a solid driver and 17* Super Hybrid coming up just on the front fringe. 512 yd par 5 and after a 330 yd drive (LOL) I hit an 8 iron just over the green. 30-35 mph with 45+ gusts were no joke as I usually hit driver, 6 iron and pw/sw into that green. At least they are pretty much into or down wind with only 1 hole into a cross wind. 2 people I was playing with quit after 9 leaving me and a high index player from India on the back 9. I don't think he broke 150 and must have lost close to a dozen balls, but at least he had a good attitude and smiled his way through the round. But da-yum a weak slice into a 40+ wind really really goes sideways. On the 12th, a short 148yd par 3 he hit a 4 hybrid waaaay up in the air and it came down bouncing back toward him maybe 10 yds. Weirdest shot I have ever seen as it must have gotten over the front of the green before starting to come down blowing back and rolling toward us. All in all a fun round battling that wind. Funny, at 20 mph I get frustrated with the wind but at 35-45 mph it was much more of a mental and physical challenge to hit every shot as solid as possible. ... #10 is a 317 yd slightly downhill par 3 with trees left and water right. I hit my 2 iron 290 with that insane wind at my back and could not stop a wedge on the green. Hit just on the front fringe and it still rolled off the back as I was too close to put some needed spin on the ball. Shot an adventurous 74 with 4 bogies and 2 birdies. Both birdies came from eagle chips and tap ins after hitting irons over the green on par 5's that I usually lay up when playing, but hitting 300+ yd drives with 45 mph winds really changes the holes. Sadly the last round for awhile as temps are dropping into the low 50's with 15-20 mph winds and no sun, which is a recipe for back problems.

    How'd you play?

Finished bogey, bogey, bogey to post an 80 yesterday. Our greens are incredibly fast lately, faster than I've ever seen them in the 17 years I've been playing this course. While I prefer fast greens generally, these are like putting on glass and when they put the pins close to natural slopes, it can get dicey.

Played last Friday going 43/42 with one birdie, one double and too many bogeys for sure. Driver was on point throughout the round, really only having one shot that led to a lost shot, everything else was fairway of just barely off. Putting was tough with some very quick greens currently as the season is wrapping up here in NH. Also breaking in some new wedges so missed some shots for inside 100 that I am usually much closer on. Still fun, need to enjoy the golf while its still here.

  28. super excited to be picked, I was honestly at my local big box store looking at these the day before I was announced as a tester, glad I didn’t have my current wedges to trade in! I picked 56* and 60* low bounce, relief edge, rounded and hand polished. My current set is the RTX4 52*/56* mid bounce. My major miss is always blading it. I already have some sim time scheduled to compare spin rates and distances. Have a couple weekly rounds I plan on putting these in play I went with the 60* instead of the 52* on this as i needed something shorter and to be able to stick a short sided green.

    Wilson irons

So the rep just left, and got the full run down on everything. AS Barbs mentioned above, we can't say anything specific for a few more weeks, but a couple teases. The V6 replacement is incredible looking, and will fit nicely alongside the Staff Blades. The new ball, very very intriguing. There are internet rumblings out there about it. But we'll have the full details soon enough, look for it in early 2021 I believe. D9 irons look like you'd expect them to be, much like the D7 everything about them will be a distance story. D9 Driver, saw it, liked it want to hit it to find out more. Wedges have a new addition to the line. Putters mostly carry over from this year, with one new addition that has my attention!! Sorry I have but can't share pics of any of the above, details and those will come soon enough.

  41. Ok guys, you've talked me into it. With the interest in the classic bag challenge, I will take @HardcoreLooper suggestion and do a trial run for those of us in warmer climates and then do a forum wide competition next year when the weather warms up. For those participating in the trial run there will be a prize. I will be using the scoring system that we used in the Hard Rock Challenge that takes into account handicap, course rating, and slope. A few things I'll need to iron out will be: 1. How will we define a classic bag? Will we go with the standard for cars and place them at 20 years old or older? 2. Should we limit it to persimmon woods? 3. Putters? I'm almost willing to say use your gamer, or if you have an older model and want to use it. I don't know if everyone will have an older putter and don't want to make people go buy one specifically for this challenge. 4. Wedges? Same as putter, but I'm more than willing to limit these to whatever you have in your classic set. I'll be happy to use the set irons and PW for all the short game shots. 5. Will older CB's be allowed or should we just use players irons? I'll probably look to kick this off in early to mid November once the details are worked out. I do apologize to anyone who won't be able to play and I wish I would have jumped on this sooner to be more inclusive. I'll start a thread in the Arrange a Game with fellow spies thread by the end of next week. Any comments or suggestions are welcome, I've never done this before and will appreciate any input you guys have.

  45. So I actually got some cardio sessions in this week, 25 minute jump-rope sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. I basically did 100 reps, 30 seconds of rest, 100 reps, 30 seconds of rest, and so on until I reached 25 minutes. Easier on my knees overall, and more of a high-intensity form of cardio than slogging out miles on a distance run. That, I will NOT be doing. Highly questionable utility and applicability for golf, in my opinion. Also, in MyTPI's opinion: My TPI: Sprinting vs Jogging: Why Distance Running Won't Help Your Golf Game Also, I get one heck of a calf workout from jump roping too. May not have calves like Phil by next season, but maybe like @B.Boston... A2 workout at 0500 tomorrow! Hopefully my last home gym workout for a while too.

  46. I like to also read the golfalot reviews on new releases. I am more in the realm of Sophie Walker’s swing speed than Matt from TXG. She had gotten like i think 15 more total yards with the TSI3 than the Sim max

  48. That is my problem with sushi, I have no clue what is good to what is bad, sure we have gone to expensive places here in Michigan, but price dont make it good. One of my friends never liked it either until he had some when he was on a work trip to Marocco, of all places, and according to him it was amazing. I want to try again, but I need someone to show me what is good or not, or I am waiting to try it when we go to Hawaii, or Japan in the future.

  49. Love it! Pretty much everything except eel I'll eat. Unfortunately, since we moved away from a major metro area good sushi is tough to come by. There is a gourmet Kroger near us with a sushi stand and I have them make me a brown rice chirashi bowl when I get there and it's ready for my when I'm done shopping.
