  1. For those of you who have been active members here the past couple years, I'm sure you've come to know our Staff/Moderation team of Myself and @STUDque as Co Directors mainly tasked with keeping things running, and hopefully we have done that. @StrokerAce and @GolfSpy MPR came on board two years ago and have been a tremendous asset in doing so many things behind the scenes you can't imagine. From sorting through sometimes 3,000 Testing Applications to answering countless angry emails ranging from the US only requirements to "Why didn't I get picked" types. As a wise man meaning @GolfSpy Barbajo once told me, Forum Moderators are not designed to be forever jobs. They are generally something we do that allows us to combine our hobby with work and maybe have some fun times along the way, and sooner or later we move on. That said, there will be some changes of the staff going into 2021. I think a big Thank You and show of appreciation for Enrique and Jason are in order for their time served on staff here. They have both been instrumental in so many parts of the forum. I truly have enjoyed working along side them. And I hope they both stay involved in the forum. Michael and I will be remaining on staff and there will be an addition announced at some point soon, I'm sure. I look forward to making 2021 on the Forum another great year of interacting with everyone and continuing to make it the best Golf Forum in the business!

  3. @StrokerAce @STUDque, Jason and Enrique, you guys did an unbelievably great job during your tenure. When you first started I knew they picked the right guys and I wondered how in the world you guys would make this great place better. From the new layout, to the smooth running testing opportunities, the major contests and the CCC evolution, you guys have left a great mark on the forum. Thank you for your hard work and most importantly the time you gave to helping make this place our online home!

    2021 Forum Staff Changes

Sad news. You both did a fantastic job keeping us in line and making sure all of the testing opportunities ran smoothly. You are leaving the forum in a better place than you found it. Thank you both @STUDque and @StrokerAce!

  8. Thank you @StrokerAce and @STUDque for all of your lasting contributions to the MGS forums. As someone who is still relatively "new" to the forum compared to our longstanding members, you were part of my first impression and you've done an excellent job. Enrique, it was especially pleasant getting to work with you this past summer in #CC4. It is amazing how much work you did behind the scenes to make that whole experience fantastic!

  9. Always a fantastic job for everyone involved! Only been involved for a year but moderators and admin have always made the site welcoming, a place where it was easy to follow the process and when something might not have made sense explained so it did. Thank you @StrokerAceand @STUDque

Guys - this is a place where buyers and sellers meet. If you aren't interested in the item please respectfully refrain from commenting. A person can choose their own selling price and should not need to defend it any way. Thanks

  11. Went out to the shop and got distracted by the staff blades....ended up putting new grips on them. The corded victory grips were extremely hard. I was surprised the grip and tape came off as easy as it did. I had some tour velvet's i picked up from somebody that was getting rid of their club working stuff. Now I just need the snow to stay north of us and maybe I can take them out next weekend.

  13. Appreciate the kind thoughts and praise guys. Undeserved, as I just worked to help steer the ship. Kudos go out to @STUDque. He did so much work behind the scenes it's hard to even comprehend. He kept the forum running like a well-oiled machine and when things went off-kilter he spent his own personal free time to get it back up and running. I wish you all knew how much work he did to keep things operational as well as both bring exciting tests and challenges to the members and manage them at the same time. Thank you doesn't seem enough having been on the inside looking out. He left things in a very good place and I will sincerely miss working with him. As you can tell I haven't gone anywhere (even started a new thread under my previous nom-de-plume today!) but I might not be as active as I once was. Thanks to all of you; you all were a great group of members to work for; the forum is yours and we simply worked for you to help make it great. You guys are what make it the place it is and your respect for each other shines through. Best of luck to @GolfSpy MPR and @Golfspy_CG2... I'm hoping they won't need it. On to the next adventure!

  15. Before we get into the big finish of the season a big thanks to all the commissioners for their efforts and work throughout the season. Another new platform with I am sure a lot of challenges in the background. Also to all those who made a effort this season thank you. This is a huge league and just awesome to take part in. I know not everyone loved the MFL site and I will say their app is less then ideal, however the site was okay. If we go back to fantrax that will be fine with me as well. Both have there good and bad points, but I may give a bit of a edge to MFL as it does offer a ton in terms of background info. Yes it takes some searching and about 10 tabs open, BUT it can help a lot of the newer ppl evaluate trades and so on. Either way I will be very happy to take part again next season! Things that were great this season for me were the following Format- Loved the two games each week and made every week that much for fun and having 2 games really made it feel like bad starts didn't mean nearly as much. I am bias in that I had a great so to this point with only one week where I went 0-2 and that was week 13 where I had my spot locked up. Rolling with the punches- This was and likely will be the most unique and difficult season ever in fantasy with games scheduled for every night of the week, massive key injuries and much more. It was great to see people handle the ups and downs and great job from the commissioners to make sure we got fair results throughout the season despite these hurdles. Playoffs!- I want to say this before any more results come in. I love the way this is working. Big bonus to those who got top 2 seeds and fair play in games for seeds 3-6 with basically two of the biggest weeks possible now to win. Having to beat out 6 teams in two weeks is fantastic and will really show how good of a squad you've managed to build throughout. There is a lot more, but I'll leave it at that. Thank you again to everyone and MGS crew for organizing and putting this on. Its truly awesome and I miss it dearly when its all over!

  16. Technically this might not be a new purchase, but it's probably the best deal I've gotten in over 10 years when it comes to golf equipment. So about 2-3 weeks ago I bought 3 Cobra King F9 hybrids at PGASS for $119.99 each. I thought that was a pretty good deal until I was browsing their website today and saw they're now marked down to $49.99. Since the only one I hit was the 21*, I went back to the store, returned all 3 then bought the 19* & 24* for $49.99 and the manager did me a solid by giving me the 21* for $34.99. So I saved $235 off what I thought was already a very good price and got 3 brand new hybrids for $135!!! I drove home thinking it was the year 1972 again with those prices, LOL.

    How'd you play?

For the first time ever, I won the Kinderlou Forest Dogfight, with an even par 72. 10 pars, 4 birdies, and 4 bogeys. And hey, it only took me about 18 months to win the dogfight.

When I was in grad school, I worked at our research reactor and gave tours on occasion. In order to illustrate that we are constantly surrounded by radioactivity we would test Coleman lantern mantles (contain thorium to increase brightness), which would make the monitors alarm. Ironically, because of NRC regulations, that simple lantern mantle could never leave the building even though you could buy one at Walmart.

  28. Jason @StrokerAce and Enrique @STUDque, thanks for all the work you guys have done to help make this place what it is! I won’t pretend to know everything, but I know how much effort was put into #CCC4 and that doesn’t include the Cobra facing side of things. Big thanks to the both of your time and effort in your time as moderators!

After I graduated in nuclear chemistry in 1969 and before I moved here to the Hanford Nuclear Site in 1970, I stayed on in school at the research reactor to work with the rocks brought back from the moon... because who could pass up on that opportunity!! 36. Another aspect that can be overlooked is temperature and recovery. I am doing my speed work in a garage in Canada. The only heat is from a small heater that blows directly on me. My last week was my slowest this winter (week 6), but it was one of the coldest days and I did almost no warm up other than using my Orange Whip. I've experimented playing my driver 3/4" short at 44.5" by choking up and I tied my highest driver speed at the shorter length. So there is a lot of useful information from the monitor and you can see what queues work for you: loose grip, loose wrists/forearms, throw the club back, push lead shoulder back, lift lead heel for bigger turn, etc. There are many times when I consciously make a longer backswing but the speed feels the exact same. The longer hand path is usually good for 2-3 MPH, the next step is then syncing that up with the lower body sequencing.

Don't fall for it. One of my sage executive managers once told me that they look for guys (gals) that can efficiently empty the incoming box - and the faster you empty the faster they refill. Of course he told me this during a performance review, just before he retired, and after stuffing my inbox on a regular basis .

  45. Kim did what she had to do, that’s clutch stringing together 3 straight birdies to close. Major winners are almost always the players who rise to the challenge. I’m surprised Olson and Shibuno didn’t finish stronger, but it was a good tournament despite conditions.

Tom wait until you get older people will annoy you more. One of the reasons I do not mess with E Bay or BST on WRX especially on the classic stuff. I only deal with people I know in person or those I have conversed with over the years here and WRX. I am getting my feet wet over on Persimmon Golf Society. And it is just not golf stuff either.
