  1. Alright everyone, I believe I am about to deliver to you what can and will be considered our magnum opus... 2580 words on this league, simple tips and tricks, and layout. We commissioners now hope you enjoy the FANTASY GOLF FOR DUMMIES, 2022 EDITION So, you've heard the siren's call and decided that this year is going to be the year you're going to take the forum by storm and earn that lovely MGS Golden Ticket. Then panic strikes. You've never played fantasy golf before, what are you doing? Well, consider me a guide to hopefully help you. Now, this is going to be a super easy explainer post covering almost everything we as the commissioners find important, but let’s also step back and discuss fantasy sports. You create a team of players who participate on the PGA Tour, accumulating wins and loses throughout the season, eventually earning you a playoff opportunity and a chance at immortality. Game Style After a year with the best ball format and its admittedly clunky live scoring headaches, we’re going back to the way the league was originally founded, a start/sit league. You will have a roster of ten (10) male golfers, you and you alone will make a weekly decision as to which five of those golfers you will start. You will earn points for things they do well, you will lose points for things they do not do well. Note that five minutes before the first tee shot is hit, rosters will lock and cannot be changed. That means no subbing on Cut day, no subbing out a withdrawal, your choices will be yours to live and die by all season. Also worth noting, due to the size of the league, there are multiple copies of players. Each player can appear on five (5) rosters, but no player can appear on the same roster twice, so if you were expecting to get double points if Bryson mashes his way around Augusta, that’s not going to be possible. Roster Construction You now maybe have a grasp on the how of Fantasy Golf, but perhaps the next most important question is the who. So, the age old question, how do you value players? Do you load up on guys who are going to ball out at majors and big events but might not play a lot, or do you value guys who play a lot and are consistent but not spectacular. Do you want Tiger for 15 events or CH3 for 27? To be honest, it's a wash, you probably want to mix things up a touch. For example, if you follow golf at all, and since you’re on this forum I assume you do, you may not be surprised to learn that on a Per Start basis, Jon Rahm was the highest scoring player in fantasy golf last year with players who made at least 15 starts on the PGA Tour, racking up a whopping 58.75 points every time he teed it up. The second highest? Louis Oosthuizen, at 49.96. However, Rahm finished 8th overall in total points, 274 points behind the tour’s top scorer, Sungjae Im. Now, that’s because Sungjae plays more events and racks up points through attrition, as his 41.85 points per start would rank him 25th overall on that metric, but he played 33 events last season, earning you points as a top guy in events without many other top guys because he plays so much. I use that example to say, there’s more than one way to construct a roster. I kind of look at it like fantasy baseball. Do you want the stars and then have some scrubs hanging around who might overperform, do you want a team with no real alpha, but consistent performance across the board? I’ve seen both ways work in golf and there’s no real way to do it. Personally, I think you’re better off having that guy or two who can be top 10 guys and then build out the rest with guys who compile, but you’ll find your own way. The Draft Yes, there's going to be a draft. Yes, it's gonna be a 68 team draft. It starts with whoever's got pick #1 and runs to number 68. Then it snakes back from 68 to 1 and then again. The draft is currently going to run 8 rounds, not the full 10 rounds as we need to sleep. The amount of time between picks is going to be 30 seconds so we can all live our lives, so plan accordingly. The final two roster spots will be filled in the first round of free agent bidding. There's also going to be a draft prep post as well, but I'm going to say this here and now. IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO BE AT THE DRAFT, PRE-RANK YOUR DRAFT BOARD Let’s talk a bit about the pre-ranking process. Now, follow along with me. I want you to open up to the homepage of our league, which you can do by clicking here. Ok, now on the main bar of headings next to the heading where it says “draft room”, you should see a heading where it says “rank players”, click that heading. Now, you’ll see a list of all the players in our league, and how many points they’ve scored in fantasy golf so far this season. You’ll notice Talor Gooch is #1, at least if you read this today. Now, Mr. Gooch I’m sure is fine in a tight spot, but I wouldn’t draft him number 1 overall, however if you don’t pre-rank your players you will draft him. What I recommend is that you change the season dropdown to “2020-21 season” to go after players who performed well last season. To add players to your list to rank, click on the green plus symbol. To exclude drafting someone, like if you just hate Patrick Reed and don’t want him, you can click the Red E to add a player to your exclude list. Then you can drag and drop the players in the orders you wish. You can also search for individual players by name in the player search bar. More information about the draft, what you need to do to prepare, and other things will be coming in a subsequent post, including information as to how to set a queue, and other tips to try and make this as pain free a process as possible. The Season It’s back again this year, to the delight of some. The play everyone every week system is back, with a slight tweak. Instead of playing all the teams across the league each week, you will be playing your entire division every week. So you’re going to have 33 matchups, plus one against the league median (an average score of all 68 teams in a week) each week, therefore you could go 34-0 or 0-34 in any given week. It creates a true golf leaderboard experience and normally leads to potentially fairer results as schedule luck is seemingly taken out of the equation. We’re starting the season, as we have for the past 3 years with the Farmers Insurance Open and run until the playoffs start. As mentioned earlier, we're doing only PGA events. No European Events, No Korn Ferry, just those events. Now, to put it out there into the world, the new PGA Tour schedule has some scheduling quirks that will affect Fantasy Golf this year. We do not play the WGC Match-Play, and in the past we instead played the Corales Puntacanta Championship, the opposite field event to the Match Play. This year, we’ve taken this week completely off the schedule, it’ll be a bye week. The Zurich Classic in the past has also been a bye week due to its team nature. This year, it’s on the schedule. I’m not sure how Fantrax will score it, but it’s there and should be treated as a tour event just like any other. Due to new scheduling opportunities with the European Tour, the PGA Tour is also officially presenting the Scottish Open this season, and that event is in our schedule. Normally it would be the Barbasol Championship, but this year it is the Scottish Open, the week before the Open Championship, kinda makes sense, but putting it out there so it doesn’t throw anyone. Again, this calls back to roster construction. There may be weeks where you don't have 4 or 5 guys in the event. It's your call whether or not to add players from the event at the expense of some of your other players or go with less knowing that you just need to make the playoffs. The Playoffs We’re making the first ever change to our playoff structure, by expanding the playoff pool. We are taking, based on record, the top 15 from each division. We are also taking the next 10 highest scoring teams as wildcards. So if you got bad schedule luck, one division ends up lopsided, etc… you can still get in as a wild card. Bonuses will then be rewarded based on your regular season finish and they will be mirrored. What I mean is that the teams finishing first in each division get the same bonus, second, third, etc. Then group bonus for the teams in 6-10th place, a group bonus for 11-15th, and no bonus for the wildcards. This diagram below shows the structure After the first FedEx event we cut to the top 20, going into the tour championship, we cut to the top 10, after the tour championship, we'll have a winner. So all you have to do is get there and then hopefully you have a lot of guys in the FedEx. Sometimes the bonus can float a team toward a title, and it’s tough sledding to win the league without one. However, and I’m speaking from experience here from last season, it’s not impossible if you can get your team to peak at the right time. Waivers/Free Agents What’s this? A new part of the introductory post? That’s right, it’s time to talk about waivers, free agents, and the mysteries of FAAB. First, we use a blind bid free agent acquisition process. You have a set budget of $100 to make all your pickups during the season. Once you run out of that money it is gone, so spend wisely. Once a tournament starts, all players are then set to waivers, which is when you will make your bids. Waivers run at 1 am EST on Wednesday and Thursday. Players dropped on Wednesday will go to waivers for the run on Thursday, all players who are not picked up, are then free agents who can be picked up for nothing until the roster lock before the tournament begins. Here’s an example of how this works, let’s say Rory McIlroy is available on waivers. I put in a bid for him for 25 dollars, Enrique puts in a bid for 24. As the high bidder, I get Rory Wednesday morning at 1 am on my roster and drop Adam Scott in exchange. Adam Scott then goes on Waivers for people to bid on him until Thursday at 1. However, no one in the league bid on Tiger Woods, who once waivers run at 1 AM, becomes free for anyone to pick up, and @Undershooter nabs him midway through Wednesday for no cost. Seems complicated, but if you’ve played in our football league or any other fantasy entity with FAAB (Free Agency Acquisition Budget) you know how it works. A few points to know. The minimum bid is $0 dollars and the bid tiebreaker is the earliest bid in case of a tie. Again, it’s so important to note this point that I mention it twice in this section, your $100 budget is all you have, once it is spent, you are spent. Trades Trades, the life blood of the Slack channel, or how to rearraign the deck chairs on your own version of the Titanic. No, if you’re not happy with the team, trading is the way to go. As you can see, @GolfSpy_APH already put up a good post about trading, which you can check out right here, but I just want to let you know as commissioners what it is we look at as it relates to trades. Admittedly, we are pretty loose on trades, we are very hands off. We expect you to enter into negotiations fairly and respectfully and pull off deals that satisfy each party. At the start of the season, we are very liberal as no one knows what rosters are going to look like, who’s going to break out, etcetera. When we do start to look at trades closer is as the season progresses and we get closer to the trade deadline which is the Wednesday before The Open. As we discuss vetoes it may surprise that out of a possible 128 agreed to trades, 126 of them were allowed without issue? For you of the more percentage based out there, that’s 98.5%, rounded up. The two that were vetoed were thoroughly vetted by us as commissioners before using that power to veto them. To be honest, I hate veoting trades, I really do. There are some who think that giving any type of veto power is bad and trades should just be allowed regardless. We have had that discussion as to allowing the auto trade, but because all of us, as commissioners, have had experiences in fantasy leagues where a commissioner did that and a terrible team traded all their players to good teams or teams in the hunt for a playoff for nothing, it just is something we’d like to avoid. So here’s what we say to you as commissioners, we do not use the veto lightly. You can help us by not offering or accepting outlandish trades. Most of our trades are without issue, but if we do see something that isn’t passing our sniff test, don’t be surprised if you get a message from one of us to just investigate a bit deeper. We will not veto a trade we find objectionable without doing our own research into it first. If you want to make sure you don’t get a call from us, follow these two simple guidelines. Use common sense. If you have little to no chance of making the playoffs before the trade deadline, maybe it’s not the best time to fire off the trade where you give up Dustin Johnson for Seamus Power trade to the guy in 4th place Consider the trade value chart. A lot of work went into the creation of that thing and while I don’t treat it as gospel, it will potentially guide any type of trade balance argument potentially. We have an incredible tool made by some really smart people, and we will use it. Again, we’re putting this out there just to show you where we are going into the season so no one is surprised. If we will veto a trade, we will veto it with our reasons pm’d to the players who wish to make the trade happen. Do not take these vetoes personally, we’re only doing what we think is best for competitive balance. Other Questions So, I know this is an intro post to the league, but maybe we didn't answer your question, or maybe I got you thinking of something else. If so, post here in the thread and we'll try to get you an answer. Also, if you haven't already, go vote on Fantrax in the league polls to have your voice heard.

  2. Chilling at the vet with my pup that has diarrhea. She's had a mild upset tummy the last couple of days and was doing better yesterday, but today I woke up to a mess both inside and outside her cage. They're doing blood work and x-ray's. Other than the tummy issues, she seems normal. She did have a seizure, but she's extremely prone to that every time she goes to the vet. She hasn't had one since May.

  3. Love this thread and what it brings. I gave the NLU goals podcast a listen and they went over it as well. My goals for this year as it relates to golf are certainly different from previous years. Goal 1: More at home practice. I have a net, mat, space and my puttout so I'm all set just need to be more active in doing so. Goal 2: Find a golf/work/family balance. Baby is due in the next month which adds an extra element. I worked 60 hours a week from May-September last year with 3 days off in that period so I need to find more time for me, family and golf and less time at work this next season. Goal 3: Find my on course game again. It has been a while since I've played to my potential and it is mainly just due to a lack of time so making time to go to the range, get rounds in will be important to me. Thats about it, no handicap goals, no specific game goals as this year is more or less be me finding the time again to play and making it all count. In a nutshell quality over quantity.

  4. Nothing - but being the club ho I am, I guided a buddy to buy a Mizuno M Craft Putter. Just like inception all I had to do was plant a seed. I'm trying to help him find a good deal, but now it's all he can think about when a few days ago, he wasn't contemplating a putter at all.

  5. I think we should all give a big shout out to our staff of writers. @GolfSpy Barbajo @GolfSpy Dave @Tony Covey MGS @GolfSpyC They all have had an incredible amount of articles to write with not a lot of lead time this week. By the time the OEM's got the product and product info to them, a lot of their time over the holidays was spent writing the First Look pieces we enjoyed yesterday and a lot more to come in the coming weeks. They all have worked years in the industry and developed relationsips with every OEM in order to get the access and true informataion about the industry and prodcuts that so many other memebers of the media dont' take the time to do. As I've always said, it's the best golf editorial staff in the business, and I know and have seen a lot of them. So we should be thankful we have them for another great year of conent coming in 2022! Also a big thanks to the HQ Staff that doesn't get the spotlight but put a ton of work into scheduliing, editing and photogrpahing all the content we read on a daily basis. Thanks to Harry, Miranda, Phillip, Bennett and Emanuel. Then of course there's @GolfSpy_X (Adam) who without him, no of this would be possible without his vision and leadership. Hats off Laadies and Gents!

  6. We're in the middle of a decent blizzard today, so I decided to work from home. Pulled the car out of the garage at lunch and wanted to focus on driver setup and ball position. I've been struggling with low launching hooks and through trial and error narrowed it down to having the ball too far back in my stance. On Saturday I put the ball really far forward and increased my AoA to something like +4 and launch to 14+ but that came at the expense of ball speed as my dynamic loft got all screwed up. Anyway, today I placed the ball even with the outside of my front shoulder and also lofted my driver back up to 9 degrees. Dispersion was incredibly better today. Launch angle was still a little low (around 10 degrees) on most shots, but almost everything would have been in play on the course. AoA also stabilized between 0 and +2. I did manage to get my launch angle up closer to 14 on a few shots and they were excellent, 270+ carry. Realistically, I'd just like to see my peak height get above 100 as right now it can be as low as about 70-75 on my lowest launches.

  7. OK ya'll. Can't get enough of fantasy so I think I'm gonna start up a league for the real life playoffs as well. Here's some of the basics: Free on MFL, no prize besides bragging rights Runs from WC through Super Bowl Total points scored during those 4 weeks is the winner, no H2H Stock PPR format Contest Style - Start anyone you want each round but you can only start a given player once during the playoffs No Draft Lineups are revealed to other owners as the players games start 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF + 1 Head Coach HC Scores 10 for a team win, 0 for a loss, then points differential is added. For example: if your HC wins by 14, they’ll score 24 points. If they lose by 3, they’ll score -3 points. If you're interested, let me know and I'll get an invite sent your way. Prefer that anyone in this little side league gets into the Slack channel.

  8. After 25+ years addicted to this game, 2021 produced two of my first hole in ones. They were about 2-3 weeks apart from each other. I'd have been so close over the years, but never could get it done. This year, twice. I still can't believe it. For 2022 I've set my goals to shoot more rounds in the 60's and to beat my career low round of 67. Of course, another HIO would be a welcome site as well! Here's to hoping we ALL hit our goals and exceed them in 2022! Let's make this an incredible year.

  10. We will have to see. May not be for all testers; I hit the stealth today and it wasn't my fastest. It was very consistent though. Most wanted testing is done with the various stock offerings. They tweak the shafts to get good launch/spin conditions. I'm starting to get into the big boys during testing....today was a Cobra driver, Stealth, and Callaway Rogue triple diamond LS. May have an answer for the poll soon

  11. Yup, I hear ya Max. It's going to take some eye popping LM data for me to shell out $730 and bench my G410P. Pretty big statement and commitment by TM though; "we'll never make another titanium face driver"...

  12. For any of the tinkerers and hobby club builders, this is potentially a needle that I found in the golf club building tool haystack. I might even get laughed at for paying $35 of my hard-earned casholas but I think this could possibly be almost as accurate as a digital scale and 1/4 the cost of a weighted scale. I actually reached out to the designer of this system and he confirmed that it's accurate to 1/10 of a swing weight and he's verified countless times against regular scale. It's patent pending as the method to calculate is different than that of any online calculator but still extremely accurate. So if you require more accuracy than that, you might not be interested, but I don't know anybody who could ever tell the difference between D2.6 and D2.9 so that's plenty accurate for anybody. The disclaimer is that it requires the purchase of a digital food scale. ($10 on Amazon). It also is used with a free app that's extremely basic but very descriptive at the same time, and you use the app to plug in your figures and it spits out the swing weight. You can also save the SW of each club in the set in case you have to make some adjustments or just want to refer back. I will say that a major piece of the scale actually was removed from the package during shipping (Thanks USPS!) so I'm waiting for the aluminum arm to come in and should be here Thursday. I have however tried using the scale as it is and while the measurements won't be accurate without the arms, the scale itself and app are extremely easy to use. Once it comes in, I'll see about maybe posting a review and adding some pics of the process.

  13. I'd imagine a good chunk of the upcharge is because you're customizing the paint job on the crown, body, face, and decals. I agree that it probably costs TM no where near that for additional paint or SKU items but I don't find it to be out of line compared to custom putter paint fill or stamping and things like that, and I'm not sure if these are more "handmade" as they're ordered or if they'll have a stockpile of the different options, but either way there is likely more manpower needed to complete those custom orders. as @RickyBobby_PR already mentioned the shaft upcharges can be all over the place depending on the manufacturer, but they all will generally have a shaft that fits a swing type, even if it isn't the exact same one. Example would be Cobra had the Motore X as no upcharge last year and it was a $180ish upcharge from Callaway, but Cally also had shafts that fit the same player profile for less/no upcharge. Do I think the starting price of the TM is high? Yeah probably... but they're still going to sell boat loads of them. I don't think the upcharge of $100 is outrageous for the ability to customize the look, particularly if you're like me and would go with a different face color (gray) and paint color (chalk). For a more subtle change I'm not sure I'd do it. In reality though I tend to buy most clubs like that used at the end of the season or after the new model is released anyway.

  14. Was interesting to see the 30 minute Rogue commercial on the Golf Channel last night, and that both Xander and Rahm are putting it in play. I found Rahms comment about it only took trying two heads to get fit, as he put the same shaft he's been using for years in it and he knew he was good to go. That says a lot for the It's the Shaft not the head camp.

  15. 2021 was the first year that i actually managed to play at least once a month. I plan on keeping that going, as a minimum. The regularity also helped me sort out my driver - fairway golf is so much better! Have also committed to adding in putting practice into my routine, Puttout mat and trainer are really helping there already. Big one for 2022 is to get my kids to the course, they have asked so now im going to make the effort.

  16. It will be interesting to see how this moves for them. As mentioned in the article CT and COR are loosely related so I am intrigued to see if the flexibility in a carbon face lets them decouple this a bit more than titanium. I am sure that is still talking about those 1 to 2% gains, but get enough of those and its a noticeable difference for a player.

  17. Don't really have a lot to add to some of the comments here already, but I can at least say I'm very intrigued. Realistically, I know performance is largely at it's max, but TM doing something different is enough to make me want to hit it. I have never swung a TaylorMade driver...

  18. HA...The year's only 3 days old, even I have more restraint than that. One was just messing around, and the other was for one of our employees who went with the Stealth+ But it was fun customizing them for him!

  19. availibility of the MyStealth vs the stock Stealths is only about a week difference. From Feb 4 to Feb 12 according to the order's i just entered. Assuming you go with a grip and shaft that are in stock, which is most of them it seems.

  21. I had to run out to the course because one of the guys I work with asked if I thought it was going to be playable tomorrow. I ran over to look to see if there was standing water in the four main places it's most common and it was only in the fairway on the first. After that, I hit a small bucket on the range. I only took four clubs, 52, 9 iron, 5 hybrid, and driver. I took the 52 and 9 because the shots between 50-120 are costing me strokes and wanted to see if I could hit the 52 better than the 56 for some of 50-100 yard shots. I developed a bout of the shanks with the SW and I'm not super confident right now. It all went pretty good. The 5 hybrid continues to perform and without getting hooky. I was hanging back on some of the early shots, but remembered my lesson and started making better contact. The driver was meh. I might drop back to 3 wood off the tee on some holes or maybe use a shorter tee. Hitting high on the face is a major problem right now. I'll check again on the range tomorrow before the round.

  23. My 2021 goals: 1. Have 10 rounds of par or better. Actual: 7 rounds of 72 & 8 rounds below par including 2 rounds of 68 tying my personal best. 2. Maintain Handicap below 5. Handicap got as low as 3.2 at the end of June at which time I decided to move back a set of tees. Finished year at 4.7 from the longer tees. 3. Increase clubhead speed and driver distance. Gained 12 yards on average driver distance in 2021 according to Arccos data. My 2022 goals: 1. Fitness & weight loss focus in preparation for 6/2022 trip to Ireland & Scotland. 2. Formulate plan to get down to Scratch. Areas of Focus: 1. Improve Approach Game. Par 3 tee shots and Fairway shots. 2. Continue to make gains on Driver Distance. 3. Leverage strength of short game, putting & Driving accuracy. 4. Work with coach to implement plan.

  24. You can roster up to 10 players total. You start with 8 draft picks. So you can take on extra picks until it pushes you over 10 total.

  25. Or Shipsticks. I've flown Delta with my clubs for 30 years, including to Maui... never had an issue. Surely, he could afford to fly with others on a charter or ship the clubs. He can afford it; the purse is $8.2M and only 36 players (and don't call me Shirley).

    How'd you play?

Tuesday 1st round of the New Year. COLD & WINDY for Florida, 43* & 6-10 mph. Toughed out a +5, no birds with 1 double. Wednesday different day!! 56* with no wind and sunny. Opened with 3 Bogies but settled down for a 40 with 1 Bird on 9.

    Cooking

Headhammer or anyone who maybe got the low down on this. Tips or tricks to making it, cook time? It appears straight forward, and I can "wing it" if necessary, but I MUST MAKE IT, because its entirely possible I may have had a little stroke when I saw the pictures. I wonder why I can't lose the 10 pounds I'm trying to?

  29. As I mentioned I don’t take any offense with the don’t trade with me comments as I know for the most part they are in jest. To be fair I’m not sure I’m a master negotiator as most(better than 75%) are accepted without negotiating or counters lol

If I remember right they are right there off I-75 it has been a long time----- I used to order parts direct from them. A couple of our units were old and so had associated wear. LOL one of the guys when I called one day answered the phone " Hi Stu" I asked how did you know it was me?? He said with a laugh you are the only one who calls us from Myrtle Beach SC. I had a deal with Holmes because we had some 15 to 20 year old equipment including a 35 year old manual 750 Holmes on a 83 Freightliner. The Holmes dealer in NC had no idea on the older stuff. I had actually called Tennessee to complain and they set us up direct from them. Good people there. A lot of the glam companies laughed at the old Freightliner but when the mess hit the fan it got the job done even if it was manual and slow compared to newer hydraulic models.

  32. Well, in 2020 I missed birdies on 2 holes... #7 and #10; both par 4's uphill into the prevailing wind. In 2021 I birdied both of those holes more than once!! However, I failed to birdie our #5 hole, the longest par 5 at 550 yards; also plays into the prevailing wind. This year I also kept track of which holes I birdied the most and which holes I had double bogey or worse. I could have guessed correctly without keeping track, but it was clear that my best scores are on #2 and #16, both short par 4's, and my worse scores were on the short-ish par 4 #3 hole ranked as #1 handicap and my nemesis hole the dogleg left par 5 #18 which plays into the wind off the tee; leaving a difficult shot around the dogleg and all kinds of trouble by the green. Maybe in 2022 I can birdie them all, but might have to move up to the Senior tee to do it.

    Post Your Swing

You rotate the hips early, have what looks like a little lift of the arms to the top. Not really an issue. Your issue is you pull down on the shaft/club so you are steep in transition and have no choice but to early extend to shallow the club and make contact with the ball

A buddy of mine just sent me a photo and asked me to guess where he's working today. He's in construction and does a lot of work in Chattanooga and Ooltewah. My response was The Honors Course, and I was right. I'm so jealous right now. I guess it's good because I would probably get kicked out because I couldn't resist the temptation to go running out there to see more of it.

  41. WELCOME TO THE CARBONWOOD™ AGE: TAYLORMADE GOLF COMPANY ANNOUNCES HISTORIC TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION WITH THE CARBON FACE STEALTH™ FAMILY OF DRIVERS CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 4, 2022) – TaylorMade Golf Company builds on its history of groundbreaking innovation with the introduction of the Stealth™ Plus, Stealth and Stealth HD Carbonwood™ Drivers. Titanium has been the cornerstone of driver technology for the last 20 years, but even at the beginning of the Titanium driver era, TaylorMade engineers knew that every material had its limit. The future of driver performance begins with the one-of-one 60X Carbon Twist Face – comprised of 60 layers of carbon sheets strategically arranged to optimize energy transfer. Over two decades of research and development, TaylorMade pushed the boundaries and now created a new era of driver technology with 60X Carbon Twist Face drivers. Welcome to the Carbonwood age. WHY CARBON? The goal of any new technology is to create a measurable performance improvement for TaylorMade customers. The 60 layers of carbon fiber in Stealth help do exactly that by providing more speed. The red carbon face – yes, the face is red – delivers a higher COR and more precise face geometry through a lighter, but larger face. TaylorMade engineers took advantage of the lightweight carbon material by creating a 26g face, which is 40 percent lighter than a titanium face of equivalent size. Because of that weight savings, the face size of Stealth is 11 percent larger than SIM2 and SIM2 Max drivers and nearly 20 percent larger than the 2020 SIM driver. The weight savings and larger face size made possible by the 60X Carbon Twist Face delivered a stunning ball speed increase during player testing when comparing Stealth Plus and Stealth to the 2021 SIM2 and SIM2 Max drivers at better player swing speeds, unlocking a whole new level of driver performance. NANOTEXTURE FACE TECHNOLOGY TaylorMade’s 20-year journey to change the face of golf was made possible by an innovative nanotexture cover that sits on top of the 60 layers of carbon. The nanotexture cover is made from a thin polyurethane layer that creates a strong and flexible striking surface which serves to optimize distance based on improving launch conditions in both dry and wet conditions. This revolutionary technology creates the face texture needed to produce the ideal amount of friction between the face and the ball at impact to reduce spin at impact in dry conditions. The nanotexture face also features full-face scorelines designed to provide improved spin performance in wet conditions. The combination of the nanotexture cover, Twist Face® and TaylorMade’s ultra-flexible Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ was engineered to produce forgiveness on strikes across the face. SHAPED FOR SPEED Despite a larger face, clubhead speed does not decline with Stealth. The asymmetric Inertia Generator creates advanced aerodynamics at the most critical phase of the swing – from the downswing to the moment right before impact. This breakthrough design optimizes clubhead speed, while also allowing additional weight to be placed at the rear of the club to encourage higher MOI, high launch and improved forgiveness. HOW DOES IT SOUND? Based on experience with older carbon headed clubs in the marketplace, it might expect the Stealth family of drivers to suffer from a muted and low-energy sound profile. However, through fine-tuned acoustic precision, engineers have been able to create a bright and powerful sound and feel profile that is true to the high standards of TaylorMade drivers through recent years. The sound and feel of Stealth has had an even better average sentiment rating in player testing compared to SIM2 and Tour player feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. THE 20-YEAR JOURNEY TaylorMade’s engineering and research and development teams began exploring carbon faces in 2000, with the first prototype created in 2003 featuring a titanium cover. Six years later, research into a polymer cover began in hopes to improve launch conditions. Then in 2012, a small-scale composite face production facility was built to support the 2013 launch of the limited-edition Japan-only Gloire Reserve driver. It served as a sign of readiness for this design platform and the progress of TaylorMade engineering. In 2016, new manufacturing techniques led to the first development of a 60-layer carbon face. Work on these new Stealth models began in earnest in 2018, some 18 years after the process began. In 2019, a state-of-the-art plant was commissioned and completed in 2021 to set the gold standard for high-volume production of composite parts. Every part of the process has been streamlined to reduce waste and increase efficiency. Simultaneously, additional facilities were constructed to bond the fully finished faces into castings. We arrive at today, 20 years later. TaylorMade ushers in the Carbonwood age. STEALTH PLUS Because of weight savings from the 60X Carbon Twist Face, engineers were able to incorporate the use of a 10g sliding weight track designed to help golfers control shot shape by shifting mass on the sole to create desired ball flight. Stealth Plus is designed to be the lowest spinning driver in the family. STEALTH Stealth benefits from the weight savings of the 60x Carbon Twist Face by more weight to be positioned low and deep in the head. This adds 15% more MOI when compared to Stealth Plus and is designed to provide 200-300 rpms more spin. STEALTH HD Often, standard draw bias designs promote a right-to-left ball flight at the expense of forgiveness. By utilizing the weight savings from the 60X Carbon Twist Face and shifting the Inertia Generator closer to the heel, we’re able to maintain draw-bias while creating the highest MOI in the Stealth family of drivers. While providing additional draw-bias, the Stealth HD will have similar back-spin performance to Stealth. STEALTH WOMEN’S The Stealth Women’s driver combines the technology of Stealth HD in a slightly lighter head weight and with a unique colorway and aesthetic. It maintains the high MOI head design for easy, high-launch with a touch of draw. SPECIFICATIONS, AVAILABILITY & PRICING Stealth Plus, Stealth and Stealth HD drivers will be available for preorder on January 4 and at retail on February 4, 2022. 42. I didn't have any goals going into 2021, but I dropped my handicap from 6.4 to 5.0, made a lot of upgrades to my bag, and was much more consistent scoring wise. My 2022 goals: 1. play more 2. practice more/better 3. lower my handicap into the 3's 4. break par on a round of 18 (broken par on 9, but +1 is my best for 18) 5. hole in one

Hope she feels better quickly... Our's has gone through that twice and nothing was found either time. She is only 12 lbs so there is not a lot of spare lb's and it can get serious quickly. She was put on a bland rice and chicken diet for a few days and came out of it fine. Did you know the cans of chicken from BJ's are cheaper than some vet sensitive diet dog food?!?!?! She goes nuts for that chicken and I'll swear if she gets sick again its on purpose just so she gets to eat that instead of her regular food!

    ERG Golf?

A lot of golfers that post on golf forums state that all "Clones" or "Knock Offs" are nothing but cheap junk and not worth buying. I found this a bit alarming when I first read those posts, but then I built a set of irons using a so called "Cheap Clone" set of cast iron club heads. When I built them up with a set of XS steel shafts that everyone told me were "way too stiff for a 55 year old golfer new to the game, I didn't know any better so I just built them and went out to the range to do a little practice work with my new toys. First swing and they felt fine to me and they were easy to hit so I didn't give it much thought after that. Then I read a few more negative posts on my cheap clones and had to reply to those posts. What I posted after using my "Bad" clubs was that they weren't too bad. I had just gotten home after playing 9 holes on a longer than average Par three course, shooting "One Under Par". Eight pars and one birdie from 8 greens hit out of 9 tries. Not too bad for a set of cheap clones with shafts that were too stiff for an old guy. As you might expect that post of my one under par day didn't stop the "Nay Sayers" of the world from posting their opinions, but that's okay. I've learned to ignore all the stupid things people post of all types of forums sites.

    Cooking

I used this video as a starting point and then just augmented it. For the beef I sautéed onions and then browned the ground beef and added fire roasted tomatoes and taco seasoning. For the chicken I sautéed onions, green & red peppers then added cooked chicken and taco seasoning. I used jack & cheddar cheeses. Some learnings; I would shred the chicken finer than I did in the image. I would used fried tostadas instead of taco shells as they will add more crunch When you bake it place a cookie sheet on top of the wrap and weigh it down somehow so the cheese melts into the wrap and meat to hold it all together. With 10 minutes left in the bake, remove the cookie sheet and let the top brown, you can turn the oven up to speed this process. Bon appetit!

    Post Your Swing

It’s not as drastic but you still early extend. In this one it’s more about balance points and your butt being too far behind your heels. The posture in the first video is a lot better than this one. Your hip joint should be stacked over your ankles. The back of your armpits should should be inline with the balls Of your feet. If you draw a straight line from the back of your armpits it should run straight into your knees and the balls of your feet. Pretty much every instructor I’ve seen or watched the hips don’t start to rotate until the club goes from what GG refers to as p1.5. This is where I’m between the setup and club parallel to the ground and even then it’s only a small amount. Here’s a good video Based on your swing and your handicap you are like me in that we have this shaft steeping but have worked at our swings enough that we can time them up pretty consistently and get around the course with some good scores. If you are trying to improve I would recommend seeing a coach to have him or her get you going with the right drills.

    How'd you play?

Over the decades, studies about the consumption of bacon have been anything but consistent. For years my wife wouldn't buy any and I only ate it when ordering breakfast while eating out. Then, the rescind parts of the study and say it's fine... all those years wasted . Absolutely everything tastes better with bacon.
