I can't say the word, bacon, without immediately thinking of Burgess.

I’m very not sorry about that. Look me up in about 15 years. “Shanky’s” it’s going to be a brunch/lunch place. Sandwiches galore, doughnuts, BACON… biscuits and gravy… heck, it might even have a trackman studio and the entire floor be a giant putting green… maybe even a chip n’ putt out back… I should probably TM that name right now, because it is going to be a real thing!

  3. Can we talk just about my putting and cheerfully ignore everything else? --> 15 putts over 9 holes with really good first putt distance control ... 3 x 1-putts and *NO* 3-putts!

  4. I caved, ordered a Rogue ST MAX LS in the same specs that I last got fit for (Epic Flash forum test). I'm barely playing any golf since my son was born, but the 50% bonus trade in was too good to pass up. Happy early first father's day to me!

What is funny is my regular Doc is one of the top Cardiologists in the state of SC. When my regular Doc retired about 5 yeas back he took over doing my DOT physicals etc. We have been golf buds for about 10 years now. What was funny was when I had my accident I gave his name for my regular physician which he is. I got some amazing looks from the people up in Florence SC as in he is a cardiologist. Yeah so what he is a MD too. I think it alarmed them and they were in full CYA mode. But I trust him and they sent all the reports to him as I requested. Come to find out one of my Neurologists knows him and found it highly amusing that we were golf buds. Told me tongue in cheek that I must be a decent golfer to be playing with those guys. I told him naah I could beat them with my broken back at the time ---- if he gave his blessing for me to swing a club then---- He laughed and said no no no not yet but if you listen and do as I say in due time. It was funny he told my Cardio Bud that and he called me. Said if I got the blessing he would take me on.

    How'd you play?

38/40 +6 Today Lets start with the bad. 3 doubles and the blasphemous 4 putt. Now that that’s out of the way I managed to hit 7/9 greens on the front(with the 4 putt). Converted 2 birdies. Only hit 4/9(drove the reachable par 4 in 1) on the back but felt like I hit the ball better.

Down here that’s the “Mountain Scrambler” and a couple of the Boyz get them. My heart hurts looking at it!! Biscuits, gravy, sausage, ham & onions piled high with fried potatoes. I think there’s some other unknowns in there also.

    How'd you play?

Started off yesterday shooting a 76. Spent the afternoon tailgating and watching a Brewers game. Finished everything off with a free Vanilla Ice concert after the game. Nice little day.

  14. ... I picked up a new 9* Cobra LTDx and installed my Tensei Blue but it launched too low for my swing. Loved the feel/sound so I picked up a used 10.5* Limited Edition Black LTDx and the results are much better. I just don't swing fast enough to play a 9* LTDx so I put it in the Classifieds at $100 off the $499 price and it was only played 7 holes so it obviously still looks new (sold). Not sure about the LinQ White in the LTD Edition as I have only played one round with it, but I have a '22 Tensei Blue and GD AD-MT to install if the LinQ White doesn't work out.

What about Canadian Bacon? It’s a close one for me, something about our friends from the north version of it… it just good, especially if you get a little bit of the syrup from the pancakes to overflow onto it… or on a sandwich… Man, I’m hungry.

    How'd you play?

Played bad... no, that's not it... played really bad; well close enough! My wife and I were called to the tee with another twosome, but when she came out of the clubhouse she said the other twosome "didn't want to play with us". I didn't know that we pissed someone off that bad!! Well, they had no choice because there was a group behind us that was playing in a "qualifier" for something, so they did join us. They were from the wet side of the state and had never played here before. I think they didn't want to play with a "girl". The first hole is a short par 4; took each of them 5 shots to reach the green, then 3 and 4-putted. We each parred. When we got to the #2 tee, they said "You are much better than we are; you better play on ahead of us." We couldn't tee up and get out of there fast enough... saying thank you, and have a great time. I birdied #2, then the wheels came off. Two doubles and a quad later, I was ready to head to the bar. I did barely miss a HIO on #8... My wife is playing the Yellow Ball... she made that putt for birdie, so the pressure was on!! "Just taaap it in." Which I did. My second birdie allowed me to only shoot +7 on the front nine. Not much better on the back nine with another +7 so a round of 86. For some reason the course sped up the greens and chips and putts rolled out much further than they have all year.

    How'd you play?

Haven't played in a few weeks due to vacation and Covid; overall I hit the ball really well and we very happy with how I played. 8 FW, 10 GIR, 32 putts. Missed fairways were just off the fairway with no issues hitting the next shot. Missed greens weren't horrible with none of them being really bad; mostly due to a few fat iron shots. Short game left a bit to be desired and missed a few putts I probably should have made. Only one 3 putt and that was on a 354 yard par 4 that I hit the green with my tee shot and 3 putted for par. I'd assume I hit the cart path but there were no scuffs on the ball so I probably just caught some hardpan and got the right bounce. 41/37:78 - I was 5 over through 7 with a double and 3 bogeys; bogeyed 10 and pared everything else. Hopefully this ball striking continues; I can see my handicap dropping quickly if I can get my finesse and < 100 yard wedges sorted out.

No regular network channels here in rural Montana via our chosen provider. They do come with our Roku/Sling package but we're just beyond coverage range from Bozeman. I could add (pay for) ESPN+ but I'm too cheap .

  24. ... I really have 2 home courses here in Phoenix. I play Aguila almost exclusively in the fall/winter/spring because most courses charge $200-350 for a round of golf. Pre Covid many of these courses on Golfnow/TeeOff could be found for around $49 but the last 2 winters no bargains to be found. Aguila charges $24 to walk with a senior city card at twilite, so I can play 5 straight weekdays for less than one round at another course. Then in the summer I join The Raven for $59 a month and afternoon rounds are $29 with a cart when the temps are 105-115*. The Raven is pretty much all pine trees so plenty of shade to park the cart by the tee or green and not burn your legs trying to sit back down after the group putts out.

I’ll have to get the recipe, and that’s how it will be named on the menu. It will come with the “Rope Hook” Lemonade… have to figure out what that will consist of. I should probably TM that too. Dang I am on a roll today.
