    How'd you play?

I'm committing today's round to the deep memory banks. I'll recall it anytime I start out badly and want to give up or quit keeping score. I was 7 over after 6 holes. I finished the front par, eagle, par. Ended the 18 with a solid 78. On number 8 I hit a great wedge and was able to watch the ball drop for the eagle.

I think my new setup is gonna stay for awhile……Tuesday I shot a 98…..just could not get it going. Today I shot a 40/43:83 with 2 birdies. The Hogans felt great.

  4. ... Back when I was a DJ a Jamaican lady running payroll participated in our weekly NFL pool. Every week she would go over each game with me choosing a winner by the team colors she liked best. She won 5 times one season!

    How'd you play?

... I didn't play and went to the last IMAX showing of Top Gun: Maverick today. When I got to my car after the movie the temperature tells the tale of why I didn't play with the Top Gun theme song still fresh in my mind "Highway To The Danger Zone"

  10. Sir...your friend is simply being a responsible and generous citizen to help out a small local business in this way. He could be considered for a local citizen of the year candidate if he would share this idea with any other spouses in the PT waiting room.

Hypothetically speaking of course. If a wife has weekly physical therapy appointments that a husband has to drive her to, and that physical therapy business is across the street from a little 9-hole executive course, then it only seems appropriate to support the local business and play 9 while waiting right? Asking for a friend.

  12. Much like that, a company I worked at had an owner that would run a March Madness pool for the entire company and the winner got a weeks vacation added to their balance. In my entire time there not once did an "expert" win. One year the receptionist won because she picked which team mascot would beat the other team mascot. She had the Blue Devils vs the Sun Devils with Duke winning. She liked cold vs heat to win.

It’s gotten real. Here’s my living room. Trailer out front being loaded as we speak… I always thought moving sucked, but now with kids who are taking it kind of hard it really sucks.

    How'd you play?

39 tonight in the league with some not great putts, but good short game. The one thing I need to be a big cognizant of with my All Gas, No Breaks approach to iron shots is in wedges. If I strike them good with speed, they spin up and launch higher with that Hi Toe design raising CG, so they do come up short more often. I guess it's a good problem to have if you know what's actually going on when your course rewarded higher spin to actually stop shots

  28. In my experience this is way too broad a statement. Due to our business I have personal interaction with more than a few mega millionaires and most are very good to deal with. A few have developed into friends after working with them for a few years. We are far, far away from their economic status so it's not like they view us as financial equals that are worthy of their time. (They have seen my work truck and been to our house so they know we aren't on their $$ level ) They are genuinely nice and treat people with respect. I have also worked with people on the other end of the economic scale and they act like the "idiot dicks" you describe and also don't care what we think unless it supports their self serving agenda. None of them live in exclusive expensive communities so in that regard they are different than GN. I usually learn fairly quickly what they are like and either turn down the first project or decline any follow up's. People can be turds no matter the status of their financial bottom line or position in society. GN's arrogance is properly summed up by his blatant lie about not knowing about Shipnucks ejection while staring at it happening. I would bet he was the one to order it.

  29. Yeah that’s hilarious, the thought of a well respected golf journalist being physically abused for doing his job. Why on earth did you think this was something even remotely worthwhile or appropriate to post given everything we’ve been talking about????

  32. IMO.. After reading Jay Monahan's statement, TO me.. It made the tour sound petty, the old I'm taking my ball and going home, type of statement. I hope the players take the money and run all the way to the bank. I also think the LIV will go the way XFL did, create some buzz have a couple of good tourney's, do to curiosity, and fizzle out. Let them spend their money like crazy and when they realize it's never going to be What the PGA and R & A are it will become nothing more than a footnote in Golfing history. Jay Monahan should have had more trust and respect for the Tour, it's Sponsors, and fans, and let the superior product do his talking. Acknowledge them but do not give in, stand proud and be the bigger man. If someone like Phil or G Mac, toward the end of their career can make enough money for 8 tournaments set up his kids for the rest of their Lives, I would probably do the same.. That's my $.02 worth for what it's worth.

  33. I've been pining for a SIM 2 D ever since I got fitted for one at Club Champion last year but didn't want to spend the almost 900 for the CC version. I definitely got better distance and dispersion with the SIM 2 over my 410 SFT. Found a "used" one last week at Global Golf. It didn't have the shaft I wanted, but at just over $300. I figured I could change that out and still be ahead. The head came completely wrapped with not the slightest mark on it so I figured it was someone's excess inventory (remember it's a lefty). Note they gave me a arrival date of 6/13 but it came on the 6th - 3 days after I ordered it. Had it on the course for about 3 rounds and Shotscope definitely confirmed it's longer than my 410. BTW that's my ball mark in the middle of the face along with the one at the top It came with a Fujikura Air Speeder shaft - not my preferred but I'll be switching it our to an Evenflow Riptide shortly. It also came with Taylormade's branded GP grip in standard size but already switched that out for a midsize CPX (with 3 wraps of tape)

  34. Many years ago, I dated a Flight Attendant, and I occassionaly let her pick my NFL pool based on the cities she was flying to that week. It was just abouot as scientific as anything else I came up with!

  36. Regardless of anyones side on this tour and how it impacts the future of golf both PGA and otherwise there is no doubt it has done a great job of stiring the pot to get lots of people talking about the game. I don't agree with its whole grow the game, but the overall publicity that has gone along with it has certainly been a boost for the golfing world in discussion and chatter. Just look at this thread alone as it has 20 plus pages in really not that long and as a follower of this thread I'm getting a ton of notifications on it at all times.

Been gaming Tours for the last few years. Good ball. The new versions from last year are even better than the first version! Imo the Tour and Tour X are easily one of the best values in golf!

    How'd you play?

I had this happen last week and on a course that I literally know every blade of grass on. #10 at Springfield. From the back tees, it's a good 340 to the front of the green. Never in 5 years of playing this course have I ever come within 25 yds of the front fringe. Well on Sunday I apparently summoned my inner Hulkamania and cranked one down the middle, and actually ran a ball through the front right section of the green. Luckily the pin was placed on the back upper shelf but as I got closer I saw that the group in front was still putting and I immediately ran up to apologize. Luckily nobody even knew that my ball rolled through the green because they were on a different part of it and the guys were cool enough to congratulate the bomb drive. I've been on the receiving end and usually am pretty cool about it if it happens once or maybe if the hole is a blind dogleg or dips down over a hill. But I've also been hit into on multiple occasions by the same group AND when the course is packed so nobody's going anywhere, that's when things get a lot less acceptable and a "look here bro" convo needed to be had. Doesn't happen very often but those people are out there in the world and unfortunately we have to cross paths from time to time.
