  1. Good morning all from a chilly Wednesday morning. Expecting a pretty slow morning here at work, and getting out around 2 to head to my aunt and uncles house in Madison for a very laid back Thanksgiving dinner meal a day early. Sweatpants and paper plates type of affair, which is unbeatable for me and my liking lol. Badger hoopers on tonight at 7:30 so looking forward to watching that! Speaking of Badger men's hoops, just bought some tickets to a game in January to take our boys to their first game. They have really gotten into watching basketball with me, which I LOVE, so giving them the tickets for Christmas this year. We are a basketball family, and having coached for a number of years and played all my life, I am happy they are taking genuine interest as well. Hope everyone has a great day!

  2. Good Morning Spies! Happy Thanksgiving Eve! I remember growing up and having in-laws and family over for Thanksgiving. As a kid we would always watch the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special. I don’t even know if they air those anymore. Seems to me kids these days are missing out on some truly wholesome shows like this. Have a blessed time this week with family and those you love and care about. I am thankful that I can play golf, even after a terrible back injury. It has been awesome getting back into the game and I am really looking forward to getting back out next year. Cheers

  3. Happy Thanksgiving eve to all! Not much expected of me for the holiday ( need to go pick up some rolls this morning ). So I guess I'll stay out of everyone's way and go play 18! 48° and sunny! Need to learn to hit low rollers as nothing going to stick on the greens today. No complaints as its golf and thats all I have to worry about. Will be warm and dry thanks to my Galway Bay gear! Have you heard its some pretty good gear in the cold and rain! HAPPY HOLIDAYS

  4. Grey morning here in Homosassa.8:30 shotgun with MGA. Bought a set of Wilson D7s on a lark switching between them and 921hm just for kicks. A little hesitant here as you folks seem to know each other very well. Will kick in my 2bits on occasion.

  5. All righty then… Thanksgiving eve is upon us. Work Monday turned out to be one of those days that did not have enough hours in it and ran way too much into Tuesday. Crawled home yesterday and now done with work and “ Those People “ for the rest month. The female royal being has decided that after a catch-as-catch can meal at home tomorrow morning, we will spend the day as stoop labor at a couple of community meals for the less fortunate. The “she being” will be out front doing meet and greets and enabling those that need aid. Your’s truly will be doing grunt work in the kitchen(s). I actually like these kind of activities as I consider it my partial payment back to the community for being pretty much a bane on society most of the year. My caring “ Beast Bride “ has also decided to galavant around the state the rest of the holiday weekend and into next week. She ask if I want to join her… I politely declined the offer while screaming; “ HARD PASS “ in my head. She asked, what I was going to do and where I was going to go? I just nonchalantly said I would find somewhere to go and something to do. . I plan on spending the rest of the day planning where to run to, that would involve /include golf. May you all have a fantastic holiday and remember and be mindful that there are those species around us that just don’t get the whole Thanksgiving vibe.

  6. Good morning! Got to sleep in today which was greatly needed! It's my mom's birthday today, so spending some time with her this morning before my wife and I head to Illinois to spend Thanksgiving with her family. Looking forward to some relaxation and good food in the next couple of days. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  7. it's prep day! 3 turkey dry brines, casserole prep, digging around for that elusive Thanksgiving platter and utensils. 14 people will be here tomorrow, and not a one plays golf...lol I'm excited actually, because I'm smoking 1, traditional oven roasted, and for the first time I will be doing a pressure pot turkey as well. (oil-less fryer) everyone have a safe and fun holiday (for those who participate) do those across the Atlantic celebrate too?

I was leaving work today and cut the corner of the road turning out of the plant when I ran off the road (it was a sizeable mud puddle) and had my car violently bounce on me. I checked and the tire warning light was not on. I got about a quarter mile from the plant and there it was. I called the wife and drive back to the parking lot. I was going to change to the spare but the lug wrench is all of 8 inches long. I don't think I can get them tight enough to stay on for the 30 mile drive home. So I left the car sitting there and packed up a lug wrench I have here. I'm going to change it out tomorrow and have a new identical tire ordered for install Monday. None of the local retailers have it in stock. We had to stop at Tractor Supply to pick up stomach meds for our dog and noticed a Blackstone for sale. Well, they didn't have the meds at the store we stopped at so we had to drive to the one closet to the house. They also had the griddle at the same price, so we picked it up. Now I've got to assemble a griddle, the dog is doing better, and the wait is on for a new tire. What a day.

  11. Good Morning all, including @Coachbutt ...fyi it took me years to get comfortable posting in here so don't sweat it .. as others said explore different topics and jump in whenever and wherever suits you ... So wife and I had gone to a comedy night hosted at our local brewery recently, and the last stand up had a great line - he's taking about the holidays and about people getting together and .. about all the eating... .. and says, "yep Thanksgiving is the official start of the Italian Eating Season - now through Christmas and into New Year's and continues ah the way to Easter!!" My wife is Italian and that's *EXACTLY* what happens here every year!! And yes she got a kick out of that and was cracking up! Our big (very big like 16 at least, sometimes more) family & friends get together feast is actually Saturday, to allow her cousins in NJ to drive back and forth to/from here more easily, so today my wife and I will start out by going out to happy hour All those that are traveling today - be patient, be safe.

  15. Good morning all! Had a nice day off with the wife running some errands, and gabbing some lunch. It is currently snowing here, and enough that I will have to shovel it, not looking like it will be melting any time soon. Looking forward to seeing family, and a busy weekend overall. Heading to my parents tomorrow, then my family is coming up our way Saturday to cut down a Christmas tree, and finally Sunday off to my in-laws to celebrate the run of birthdays (23rd, 26th and 30th). Should be fun but tiring to say the least. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  16. Good morning Spies on this Thanksgiving Eve Wednesday. Unable to have a no commute workday today, so already in, and hoping to wrap up all that is needed to be done here at least a little earlier than normal quitting time. Actually need 2 people in the facility for safety reasons, and I came in to be the 2nd person for another who was left to "fend for himself" by a couple others from his group. Hope that those who may be traveling, all arrive safe and sound, and have stress free travel days. Hope that everyone's day is the best it can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

  17. Good morning everyone on a cool Wednesday morning from my flat tired car. Yesterday was a very eventful day with me blowing out a tire leaving work, having a dog with diarrhea, and buying a griddle. It's all good, though. I'll get the spare on after work and head home to enjoy the holiday weekend. I'm looking forward to some delicious food tomorrow. I hope any of you who are travelling have a safe trip and enjoy the time with family. We're doing Friends giving with some friends and it should be fun I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Good morning! Putting the finishing touches on some items at work before the long Thanksgiving weekend. The morning has flown by, so hopefully I can get everything done that I need to. Spending time with extended family tonight and maybe going to take all the kids/cousins to see the new Wish movie. Have a great day everyone!

  20. Good morning all! It’s Wednesday, aka my favorite day PAYDAY!!! It’s also pre-getinmybelly day! Today continuing with my thankful week, I’m thankful for my job(that at times I hate) and all that responsibility that comes with it (most of the time I wish I could give away lol). It allows me to be apart of some pretty cool science and see some cool stuff! Also thankful for adversity that I’ve been through, and it teaching me what it has! I’ve already hit 300 balls in the sim today with some old clubs since mine are packed, heading to lake and will be playing one of the Bear Trace courses on Friday. Hoping for an ok round, and to beat my FIL. Hope y’all have a great day and BE THE BLESSING!

  23. Good morning MGSpies from a wet and surprisingly warmer (meaning about 40F) here in WNY with temps not projected in the 30-40F range for the 14 day period, hot coffee to make the day start right on a zero commute Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve. Son comes home today for the holiday weekend and all other plans are unbeknownst to me, I am sure I will be made aware when I need to know. Hope golf is a part of your day

  25. Good morning and happy Wednesday spies! Last day of work for the week and I am hoping it goes by quickly, I am ready for some downtime. We are hosting dinner tomorrow although our only guest is my father so it will not be a house full of people. We’ll get to use all four chairs at the table so I guess we can call it a table full for Thanksgiving. Started sorting through some items that I need to clear out of my garage yesterday afternoon. Found a few boxes of NASCAR diecast cars that I need to get up on Marketplace. Found more than I thought there would be. Hope everyone has a most excellent day!

  26. Good Thanksgiving Eve Spies! Cloudy but nice Central Florida morning, 67 degrees at 7am tee off. Walked 18 holes this morning with golf buddies. No rain, but it was windy and warmed up to about 75 degrees by end of the round. Have to give my beautiful wife props & have a pass to play tomorrow morning at 7am & she's cooking dinner for 12 tomorrow! I'll help with prep work today & a couple more cups of espresso! Welcome @Coachbutt! I'll echo other statements, this is a Great Group! @cksurfdude had to laugh the Official Start of Italian Eating Season! LMAO! So True! You get your doctors appointments out of the way before Thanksgiving & you schedule follow-ups for Late March early April, this way you're out of the food coma! When I lived on Long Island with all the family, it was one feast after another. All the Italian pastries, the pasta, oh yea the turkey. Best wishes to everyone for a Safe & Happy Thanksgiving ! Hit'em straight!

  28. Good morning Spies! For the first time in awhile there is actually no agenda for today. Hoping that hanging with the family will keep me from pre-ordering a Bettinardi BB1W lefty. Ha! The sound slot has piqued my interest. May have to do some meal prep today to keep me occupied, thought about organizing the golf workshop but that will likely only make me want to order a putter. Anyway - may you all have a great day today.

  29. Good morning! Up again way too early but I have become accustomed to it. Drinking the coffee and getting ready for a busy day. Nephews' birthday party and then a round of golf this afternoon. Didn't get to play yesterday and today is supposed to be low 60's and no wind. We are hosting family for Turkey day tomorrow so this evening will be prepping everything for that and getting the bird ready to put in the smoker. Have a great day!

  30. Happy thanksgiving eve everyone! I hope everyone has a great holiday and enjoys some time off spent with family and friends. We are hosting a pre-thanksgiving cousins get together which has sort of become a yearly tradition. I finished the storage shelving from my earlier post which will help clean up a lot of my crap I have laying around in the living area of the basement where we tend to congregate (mainly because of the bar). I thought it came out good and it’s already filling up with stuff!

Gotta find the right pain relief for it to keep you going! And try a neoprene wrap when you go out on the course in low temps... ... Have a good evening!

Well... I have self control issues when it comes to golf gear. Hahaha. So I'm happy to hear that the boss called and gave permission because the 34" lefty BB1W should be here mid-December. Have to admit, as a long time Scotty Cameron fan, I'll be interested to see how the Bettinardi compares to the NP2.5+ that has been in the bag. The all black setup with black shaft and the bright shade of blue accents & grip was just too sweet for me to pass up.

  36. Good Morning everyone! Today was my physical therapy day and the therapist changed up my exercise routines. I had just gotten used to the exercise order, # of reps and # of sets. Some exercises are the same, but the reps and sets changed; some new exercises thrown in the middle. Ugh! Knee feels a little better with help from pain relieving ointment and staying off it for a couple of days. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow; Thanksgiving Day shotgun start but not a tournament. Hope everyone traveling today and tomorrow has clear skies and roads... stay safe!! If you get delayed, just be patient... remember that as golfers we have learned that trait very well.

  38. Back on Trackman for short game stuff. Hit both 3/4 54* shots (typical carry there is 80 yds) and 30 yd pitches with a 58*. Today I used Kirkland Performance + (yellow), Srixon Z-Star XV and the test ball. Again, a few things stand out... -Kirkland doesn't really spin that much for me on shorter shots -The test ball does a decent job spinning on these and seems to launch higher on average -The test ball, to me, does a good job offsetting the potential loss in spin with higher peak height and land angle

  39. ... Well, they finally got to me. I have been looking at this putter for what seems like forever but it just irritated me they wanted $50 to NOT have the sight line. Obviously all they have to do is remove it from the assembly line before milling the sight line so clearly they are gouging the customer. But their Black Friday sale at 25% off was too much to ignore and I ordered my custom Evnroll. I will put on a Lamkin Sink Fit Skinny Pistol grip myself.

  40. There is a community call from earlier in the year that Sam Hahn from LAB joined and talked about their putters for an hour or so. Paraphrasing but he said each model from the link, to the mezz, to the max, is one step closer to the putter everyone should use, the DF2.1. For me, I grabbed the max, because it offered the forgiveness in a shape I find appealing

  41. Alrighty - I wrapped up my testing yesterday by playing the test ball in some capacity on most of the 11 holes that I got in. I did not take any on course pictures, as it was 39 degrees with 15 - 25 mph winds, and every spare second that my hands were not on the clubs were spent jammed in my pockets. I alternated playing my ProV1s and the test ball, occasionally swapping the test ball or playing a shot with each when I wanted to see what it would do when comparing against the ProV1 as my primary ball. - Shots off the tee were still straight (except for the very first zero warmup swing of the day that duck-hooked into someone's back yard, but that's why they sent me three, right?), but in yesterday's conditions the ball ballooned a lot higher when hit into the wind. Shots fell significantly shorter than my ProV1. Into the wind, my ProV1 was rolling out 220 - 230, carrying 200 - 215, whereas the test ball only rolled out to 210 after carrying 195 - 200 into the stiff breeze. Long drive of the day with the ProV1 was 334 (wind at the back and a nice downhill roll, carried around 290), and the test ball was around 260, with about a 245-250 carry. The test ball felt quite a bit softer off the driver, and given the distance loss, I prefer the ProV1. - Iron shots carried the same higher trajectory, which on a very windy day was not ideal. Shots again were about 10 - 15% shorter than the ProV1 and had significantly less spin and more roll out. Balls rolled out a few yards even with the much steeper landing angle. The lone bright spot for the test ball came on hole 8, playing 120 yards into the wind. I thinned my ProV1 with a 9 iron well long and left of the green, but was able to keep the test ball low and out of the wind and land it just short of pin high with about 10 feet of roll out. I have no idea how a ball with that low of a trajectory was able to hold (maybe it was the overnight rain that softened the exact landing spot that I hit), but I was able to can the putt for a sort-of bird. Besides this one shot, the ball flight was too high for the conditions and rolled out more than I would prefer. - Wedges were much lower spinning than the ProV1 and rolled out significantly further; I was able to check my ProV1 consistently throughout the day, but the test ball did not bite at all - like ZERO spin. It was like channeling my inner Tim Wakefield to chip knuckleballs and watch them roll out 20 yards. I could not get a feel for how to play the ball greenside effectively. I would hate to be short sided with a tight lie with this ball unless I was able to putt, as I don't have the confidence to be able to stop it. I have seen a few people comment that they were able to control it, but I was not able to. - Putting with the ball was not too much different than the ProV1, although today I noticed the difference in feel much more. The test ball felt quite a bit softer today, but it did not really impact how I took my stroke. It rolled true and I was able to hit some nice 10-15 footers and had no complaints. I am indifferent to this ball with the putter. All in all, I was not a huge fan of this ball. I am used to the ProV1, and this ball behaved much differently. Off the tee it was shorter, but straighter. Irons were shorter, but with more roll out. Wedges lacked the spin that I am accustomed to. Putting was fine. Based on how I played with this ball, I probably would not put it into my bag. I am very grateful to MGS and Titleist to be able to participate in this evaluation, and hope that I get the opportunity to do this again in the future!

That is quite a day Jason. Important to note, no injuries sustained, no unrecoverable damage incurred, everything fell into place with time available. Obstacles and challenge, both managed and will be overcome. Lots of blessings there and impressive how you handled the day and captured it for our vicarious participation. I am glad to say that my day by comparison was uneventful and boring. Went to work, where there were no insurmountable issues. Stopped for a fillup on the way home and dropped off an envelope at the Post Office for need of postage then home, nothing significant to report. An errand run, Corgis fed their dinner, wife provided dinner, dishes washed, time to catch up on forum and online things, no comparable challenge or obstacle to yours my friend for which I am thankful as it is not always the case. My hope and wish for you is rest, recovery, and re-energizing for tomorrow and the coming days until tire is mounted. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family my friend

Between the stash of clubs in the garage, the workshop in the basement, and the pile of clubs in the corner of the #golffice we talked about last week on the forum call - I dont see it as an issue of control, rather I see it as evidence of my passion for this game we love and the variety of gear we get to play with as we try to conquer this awesome game! (That is what I call a positive spin - hehe) Will definitely share when it arrives and first impressions! Thanks for the continued support!!

  49. @Shrek74 one important point...prior to the TPT option, the Accra was "the" preferred shaft as it was engineered best for the MEZZ.1. If you want to upgrade, you'll find that it'll mesh quite well. I have the LAGolf P135 in my MEZZ.1 and I love it but I have nothing to compare it against besides the steel shaft putters I used immediately prior to testing. That was a Bettinardi BB8 Wide and a Scotty 11.5 Phantom X. The feel is noticeably better and I trust the engineering department who pride themselves in saying the graphite putter shafts are truer and more consistent.
