  1. Good Friday morning! It's been a busy week but productive. Have an early meeting this morning, then a final walk on a clients new home and then some golf planned out for this afternoon. We decided to get a hot tub that is the size of a swim spa so the kids can splash around and the adults can relax. The backyard transformation has started and we set all the post to extend the fence yesterday and this weekend will be getting the pickets up (minus one section) and ready for delivery next week. Next project is converting a window to a door and then the covered patio extension that will meet up with the hot tub. Wife is a happy camper which means I have a little flexibility on golf related items..... wedges, 3 wood. Hope everyone has a great day!

  2. Morning all, Why I am up early in my day off I can’t say. But seeing as how I’m up already, I’ll brew some coffee and get started planning out what exactly I need to do today so we can do our official V-day dinner tonight. We aren’t ones to fight to get into our favorite restaurant on V-Day. Anyhow, gonna go hit the Mizuno 245’s today to confirm those are what I want to get and actually perform the way they should for me. Hope everyone has a great start to the weekend.

  3. Good morning Spies on a TGIF here in the Motor City area. Unable to have a no commute workday, and the cold weather settled back in here. Hoping to get some range time in over the weekend, have a couple of clubs I want to also try out and see if they can fit at the top of the bag and help with some gapping concerns. Will be a busy day here for me today, and most of the others are on the "not working from home" program today, so I should be able to accomplish all I need to do without interruption, and possibly get done a little early. @Jmikecpa safe travels and enjoy your time in the Sunshine State. Hope that your day is the best it can be, and something enjoyable is in your plans.

  4. Good morning MGSpies from cold windy WNY on this Friday in real winter which has pretty much missed us until now (I know January snow, that was just, ok winter too) but it is c o l d although I think @ParFore74x has us beat and remembering my one winter in Kansas I know that cold. liking the new computer now the permissions, defaults, accesses, programs, everything is working like the old one did, getting on the network so far is also easier so heading into the workday with optimism on the no commute agenda enjoyed the community call last night, was much more spirited and that as Jamie said marked the annual mark so it is now beginning its 2nd year! Hope golf is a part of your day! 104

  5. Good morning everyone! Looking forward to the weekend ahead, just need to get through some work to get there. We also have gotten a dusting of snow this morning that will need a quick shovel but nothing that should take too long. Wife has some plans this afternoon/evening so the kids and I will hang out which is always fun. As for the weekend not sure what it will hold but I am sure we will find something to do. Have a great Friday and weekend all!

  6. Good morning spies!! Happy Friday to all of you. Cold one here today with a 25° start and a high of only 30°. We will then go down to around 13° for the evening. Already looking forward to the chill. Nothing too exciting happening in my world at the moment and I'm taking that as a good thing. Leaves me time to work on putting and chipping in the basement while watching golf on the tv. Have a great day everybody!

  7. It's the preekend... and no football to look forward to until August. But! - we have Tiger shanks. (next time it happens time I'm blaming my back too!) I'll give him credit, that was an awesome recovery shot. Riv is one of the best tourneys to watch - the finishing holes are great. Get to meet with my accountant and pay the tax man tonight. FUN! Saturday: car shopping. yay...NOT! Wife is driving a lot w/her new job and wants a hybrid and has her heart set on a Kia Niro - don't ask. It looks decent but...I dunno, I guess I'm old fashioned. Have a *banner* weekend all and if you get a chance make sure you catch the Caitlan Clark show. I know it's women's college bball but she is on another level. Shooting 3's from the logo ?!?!?! Sheesh...

  8. Morning folks️ Spent a little time chipping and putting at my old muni last night on the way back from work, and I gotta say it was nice being on real grass vs a matt in the garage or a sim. New dryer’s coming today which is timely since we’re doing a trip to Memphis over the 3 day weekend, looking for recs if anyone has good ideas. One caveat is my wife’s vegetarian which limit the bbq options Looking forward to good music on Beale and hitting up some of the museums, but we decided not to do Graceland this trip (I have been before though). Happy Friday to all, hope it’s a good one!

  9. Happy Friday everyone! There's nothing like waking up and turning your alarm off on a Friday morning so it won't go off on Saturday. It's a nice morning here in SE TN and it's supposed to be beautiful today before we have a cold snap tomorrow. I'm might try to head to the range today and take advantage of it while I can. I hope you all have a wonderful start to your weekend!

  10. One last workday until I head to Disney with my wife and girls for a week. A few park days planned for the week and of course a round or two of golf while I am in warmer weather. Looking forward to a week of relaxation or as relaxed as I can be on a trip to Disney.

  11. Oops very late today in catching up and saying, "Good Morning!", to all my golf buddies... Crazy wind was rattling and shaking the house last night, so my normally interrupted sleep was even worse. But at least I'm retired and don't have to get up and get out of the house and go to work! So I guess I'm off to do whatever da heck it is that retired guys do with their days Have a happy and healthy TGIF everybody!!

  12. Good morning all and happy Friday! Not too busy of a day at work, more or less a catch up day, then headed into the weekend with no set plans which is nice once in awhile. It’s the first Friday of Lent which means a fish fry tonight, one of my favorite things in the world lol. Also had another article published to the MGS Main site today on some fun side games to raise the stakes during a round, if you’re into some friendly wagering, anyways . Give it a read and leave a comment! Thanks for all of your support! https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/our-favorite-side-games/

  13. Good morning! Day two down of Solo Dad Duties, and I have again prevailed over death and injury. The house is a mess, but I can put that off for another full 48 hours, which I intend to do. One kid up and fed, the other will be in 20 minutes. Going to head to the gym after the last one gets on the bus for some much needed me time. I took the day off, but hopefully I will be able to get to a couple of projects before the eye appointment, vet appointment, and gymnastics meet. Today is slated to be a full day of playing Mr. Mom, to be capped off with a couple beers and a visit to our favorite pizzeria. I hope everyone gets all their crap accomplished today - go get some and make Friday great!

  14. Good morning all! Up bright and early this morning and headed to the airport. As I’ve mentioned previously this week, my sister is getting married this weekend. Should be a lot of fun and excited to reunite with some family. Hoping to catch some of the golf this weekend in between all the festivities. Will be grabbing a big coffee for the flight to get me through the day. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

  15. Good Friday morning y’all! Going to be a great day here so the 7:52 tee time will be a good way to start the day ! Playing with a few of my buds , then retire to our favorite lunch place for conversation, libation and relaxation! Benefits of being retired and healthy . May you each realize your potential today , receive blessings, be grateful and Kind !

  16. decent morning here and the weather is supposed to be decent. While I can't go to the course, I went by MGS HQ yesterday and they needed another tester for this years most wanted mallet putter testing so I added myself to the group. First session is today at 1:00. I've been doing a little putting at home over the past week and don't think there will be that much of an issue. There are lots of interesting brand and models in this years putter testing so I am looking forward to getting my hands on the various putters. I do expect to be worn out after the session but at least I am doing something golf related. @Rob Person glad to hear your wife is doing well.

  17. Happy Friday everyone. Although, honestly it's a bit bittersweet to me. It's the first weekend, in what 5 months that we haven't had football to look forward to. Well at least pitchers and catchers reported this week, and they are playing golf at sunny Rivera so there's that.

  18. A good morning and happy Friday to all. The white stuff has returned requiring me to return to active shovelling duty. Just a small reminder that it’s still winter, but at least the espresso is going down very nicely. Enjoy your day.

  19. Good morning spies. Going to try to get a round in this morning. Going to be cool in the mid 40’s here, but as long as the wind doesn’t pick up it should be fine. Hope everyone has a great day!

  21. Good morning! My oldest daughter woke up with a fever this morning. She's in good spirits so hopefully it doesn't progress into anything else. She's fell back asleep nicely and has been resting all morning so far. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard Friday for us. I am trying to talk my wife into trying a new Greek restaurant that opened up about 20 minutes away from us. Hopefully I can persuade her to agree to some take-out. Then it's movie night with the kids (including popcorn and M&Ms). I think they chose to watch The Croods movie, which I hear is very funny. Have a good day everyone!

  22. Good morning Spies and TGIF! Well, I survived the round yesterday, but my wallet didn't... As poor as my exhibition of the game was, had a great time with colleagues on a beautiful day! Thanks for the article @GolfSpy_KFT , some new games to spice up the matches a little. Not much going on today but will definitely be getting out back and putting the net to use! Safe travels @Byrnzee and have a great time celebrating and enjoying the festivities surrounding your sister's wedding. Enjoy the time off and family trip @Jmikecpa. Will you be playing Disney courses or other local tracks? Well, my boss is eyeballing me which means its time to go cook our ritual Friday breakfast, so I guess I'd better get ready to go before I get more than "the look." Everyone have a great day and hit 'em well if you have the opportunity!

  23. Happy Friday Spies and Good morning! I have to say my level of joy is high today despite the 6 inches of snow we got on Wednesday! I am looking forward to simulator time next Friday (first time swinging since October) and I got a new Callaway Paradym 4-Hybrid that needs to be unwrapped and taken for a spin! Starting to get the spring itch again to get back out on the course so hope the snow will melt next week and it will come soon. Heading to Orlando in March so I am going to try to get away for a morning to play! We will see! Cheers!

they have said it on their social media posts. They will Puttview system; unfortunately won't be installed for a little while so they aren't using it for this years putter testing. Hopefully it will be in before the Kingsmill outing.

  26. Good morning from the Great White North. We have a long weekend up here as well. Sadly no outdoor golf is possible, but hopefully I will get some time on the simulator. Still working on some swing fundamentals… Have a great weekend everyone!

  27. Happy Friday all! We made it! Looking forward to the long weekend now that basketball is over and we have nothing to do.... oh wait, the boys start baseball winter training to knock off the rust before evaluations in a few weeks... At least I'm off Monday, but the kids are also on February vacation.

  28. Good Friday morning, golfers! A typical February day with possible rain/snow this afternoon. However, February hasn't been bad so far with a majority of the days above average temperatures. Next week the predicted high temps range from 50 to 67.....sweet! My wife just left for work; bless her for being our breadwinner!

  29. Good morning MGS! Slow day today which is welcomed after yesterday. No such luck on the permission slip for a Qi10 in the old Valentines Day card, but I did get some new AirPods so a solid day regardless. Just got the email that company bonuses will be coming next week so fingers crossed I can work that towards my golf dreams lol. Helping a friend find deals on a driver currently his shaft broke in half last year comically on the driving range. He had picked up a set for an extreme deal 2 years ago but the senior flex shaft finally said I’m done with you. He’s looking at a Stealth HD 1 and being a lefty there are some solid deals out there, and I love the challenge of a bargain hunt. Have a great day all

  30. Swim spas are oversized hot tubs essentially. One end typically has seats with jets and the other end has jets that you swim against the currents. We decided with having smaller kids the spa was a better solution. Still deep enough for them to splash and play but not as deep as a swim spa. We got one that is 7.5 x 11.5 This is a swim spa.

  31. Congrats on the handicap! You'll catch me soon (admittedly a low bar)! PCP visit yesterday resulted in a couple of referrals for specific issues, but no sleep study and no RXs. The 4-hour drive to Charlotte after that left me completely knackered (I'm not a Brit @taylorjonasher) and I crashed early. One study subject today in Charlotte (then I'll be back here Wednesday). I had hoped to detour to the Cradle on the way home for a quick round (about an hour) but they're pretty solidly booked and I don't know when I'll be through in Charlotte, so dunno if that can happen. The reservations person said it was possible to get on as a walk-in but no guarantees. Glad your wife's surgery went well @Rob Person

  33. Good morning (for those not in EST) Spies and TGIFF!! I'm a bit late here due to taking today off as a comp day from last weekend's activities. But I have a few things on my agenda today, including building my new hitting net in the garage and on a lesser degree making a recycling run. They don't pick up recycling here like they did in AZ, so I have to do it myself, which is fine. It's only about 15 minutes away and I have a couple small red bins I use in the garage for collection. Hopefully tomorrow will be nice so I can go walk one of the courses here for both exercise but also to try out some visualization of how I'd play the hole based on how my season ended contact-wise. I might take out the Shot Scope app with that MyStrategy section to see what it might look like being on the course. Well, have a great day and weekend everyone!

  34. Late Friday morning my friends.. Friday is the launch way to the weekend, so make it yours. The new Rx’s didn’t cause any “POWER PUKING” but did have some other internal issues. Will see what day 2 brings. It was back to reality golf yesterday. Did break 90 but didn’t get close enough to breaking 80 to scare the 70’s. Surprisingly, I did increase my net worth a tad. Instead of making non-deductible donations to my golf dependents, they were the ones doing the donating. More surprisingly was that somehow ADULTHOOD / MATURITY won out in the peer group voting this morning of deciding whether to play 18 in 60 something temperature in the rain. The majority voted to pass, so NO golf today. The weather is suppose to get worse over the weekend so I may get to spend a lot of worker drone time doing the bidding of her highness. @Byrnzee Safe travels and may the new draft pick for your family be at least pro-golf if not a golfer themselves. @StrokerAce My sincere condolences for going down that rabbit hole of vehicle purchasing. At this time I will not bore or possibly scare you with how my wife-person decides on what kind and when she needs to get a different vehicle. So @Josh Parker I could actually with a clear conscience tell the totalitarian tiara wearer that an endless pool with outdoor kitchen, as part of a replacement for our worn Pergola was your idea… I like having extraordinary helpful youthful friends; makes the life of a fragile, frail, and sensitive elderly old man easier.

  38. Morning all! Got some practice in yesterday and played a decent round after. However, the highlight of the day was on the range. One of the regulars on the driving range had the new Paradym AI Smoke and was hitting it and mentioned to me how well he was hitting it (we previously had the same driver) and insisted that I hit a ball to feel it. So of course I obliged and managed to pipe one nearly dead straight with a slight draw easily carrying more than my current gamer (I won’t try to guess a number). My buddy was blown away (he doesn’t hit it very far) and it was then that I told him that I toed the ball and even found the ball mark on the face halfway from the center to the toe edge, right where the “+12” mark is on their promotional graphic haha! I’ll be waiting until I can hit all the new drivers before I make any decisions but I can tell you I’ve never hit a better feeling and performing driver than the AI Smoke!

  39. And telling people their putting for the day was just pish instead of sh*t! Good morning Spies! Sun, sun, and more sun for the next couple of days with temps reaching the mid 70's tomorrow. I am running the game today and depending on the number of players I will reverse the order of Monday's scoring. Monday was 4 man teams par 3 score 3 net, par 4 score 4 net, par 5 score 1. So today I think I will set it up with the par 3 and 5 reversed. Got an email from PXG. They have a driver challenge going on right now. Bring in your driver and see if you can hit it as well as their new black ops driver that the fitter optimizes. If they cannot get you more distance or tighter dispersion they give you a hundred dollar gift card. My drives for the most part are boring. Same place, same distance, little to no variety. Which is good when it comes to golf. When I was fitted for my irons last spring I checked on a new driver. The best I hit was the Taylormade Stealth 2. It gave me 6 whole yards more distance.....for 650 dollars. A hundred dollars a yard did not seem like a bargain to me. PXG for this challenge has chopped 200 bucks off their top of the line Black Opps drivers, so Sunday I am going to take the half hour free fitting and see if I can get that gift card! Should be fun.

  43. Afternoon everyone! So, I had a conversation with my CEO yesterday. He wants to promote me to a position that is pivotal to the success of the company. Basically in charge of a team of folks responsible for the delivery of our services and solutions. The funny part of the story is, I actually hesitated (probably longer than I should have), not because I was worried about the added responsibility or pressure, but because it could cut into my ability to play golf this year . At least I have my priorities in order…. then work. Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. My wife and I went to the mall yesterday evening because I needed a new pair of shoes. We stopped for a nice dinner and then went home. I unpacked the shoes and thought I would wear them today to break them in. Got up this morning, got dressed and went to put on the shoes. Left one, felt great. Right one….hmmmm. My foot seemed to have become swollen - like a LOT. So, now I am kinda panicking like maybe I had an issue. Then I looked in the shoe - 8 1/2. Should be a 10. The clerk apparently put the display rack shoe in the box instead of the ones I tried on. I was a little put out but also VERY relieved I didn’t have swollen feet. Hope everyone has an awesome tomorrow! (since this post is soooo late). Cheers!

  44. ... Good stuff and tanks for sharing. I would never get between a teacher and their student as they have information I am not privy to and may even be doing something "incorrectly" that is actually just exaggerating something to overcome a problem. It is one of the foundations of teaching. That said, I wanted to say to others there is nothing wrong with an open face at impact or pushing putts if that is your natural stroke and you do it consistently. You have stated in your case you are missing some putts right so I certainly understand addressing that issue and I am not making any observations about your putting stroke. Just an observation for others reading and thinking they may need the toe to pass the heel through impact after reading your post, when it is just one way to putt and may or may not be good for their putting stroke.

Good morning spy’s beautiful morning in Sooke, not a cloud in the sky but a little windy!! I did a putting session yesterday with my coach, I know I am in trouble when he brings his IPad out!! apparently I am not releasing the toe of the putter past the heel at impact therefore causing a push. “Yes coach I have been missing right” so one of the drills he gave me was to snap a chalk line to the hole then snap one square across the line (I will use a “T” square. Apparently that will help me see the release of the putter. any other drills you knowledgeable golfers may suggest? thanks and have a great day!!

  48. Good morning MGS Troops!!! Another warm morning out with the poopies and coffee this morning in Cheyenne WY. Temp is 19 degrees at 6:30 with about an inch of snow. I'm over this Jekyll and Hyde winter. All the courses south of me in Colorado are open, but the forecast for Fort Collins is cold this weekend until Sunday. So more sim sessions. I started a topic called Simulator Woes and asked if any of us have them. Hi, my name is Erin and I suffer from Sim Woes! Here is the link if you want to check it out. All is well this morning other than the warm 19 degrees. If you are golfing this morning then enjoy and Happy Birdie Hunting! I hope you capture those elusive creatures!

  50. Good morning, Spies! @Rob Person glad to hear your wife is doing well! Not much to report today on the golf front. I did manage to re-build some vintage irons for my friend last night, after paint fill and replacing ferrules (which I still need to turn). A busy weekend on tap with a work/play conference in town piggybacking on the NBA All-Star game. (No, I am not going to the game, sadly.) I wish you all great days and super weekends!
