Mornin everyone! I stepped away for a couple of days and can't believe many pages I had to go through to catch up on this thread. Getting ready to head out for an 18hole net team scramble this morning. Weather is supposed to be low 80's, blue skies and light winds.16 points

What a great day for golf!! Well, except for the 4.5 hour round because it was the Men's Club Opening 2-person scramble tournament in front of us. The sun was out and after a 1.5 hour frost delay, it warmed up to 63º by the time we finished. For once I played a round and didn't feel chilled. Made 3 bogeys on the front nine to make the turn at 40. Had one bogey and one birdie on the back nine to shoot an EVEN par 35 and a total of 75. Shot my age again! I felt pretty good about today's score because the pins were tucked in some tough spots for the tournament. It was my best ball striking round, maybe ever!! Hit 12 GIR but only 9 fairways, which is low for me. However, the fairways missed were only just off and lies were decent. My only problem was that while I was on the greens in regulation, I had very long putts; except for the lone birdie...just not really makable.16 points

Good morning all; it’s day something of some duration of time. Days seem to run together as they are all pretty much the same. get up, go to home office, work some, check forum, go do most wanted testing, go to bed….back to beginning. will be a tweaks to the schedule today since golf will be on at 10ish so the TV will be on in the background. Tomorrow will actually be different since I have to go to the office to teach a class…still tweaking the slide deck today.15 points

Good morning from a still dark WNY @Lacassem your photo is a nice preview to what is coming very soon as the terminator sweeps across our time zone. This middle of the week has a dentist appointment and Caz Park GC is open today for the one day hole in the weather and will fit nicely between appt and dinnertime. With the real prospect of outdoor golf on 3/22/2023 in Western NY, the hot mug of coffee and its on-deck thermos threesome is a great start to a day with golf in it15 points

OK then. Rain in the forecast. Went anyway. I mean, in the Phoenix area, 320 days of great golf weather a year so playing in the rain is bupkis if you want. Playing since 1981. I have had 3 albatross on par 5, to many eagles on par 4 and 5 to count made insurance money on 2 holes in one. My last goal in golf. Shoot my age. Yup, it happened today. I drink about once a quarter but I am sitting here drinking Drambuie out of my Viking mug. Oooo-rah. Sweet 70. 17 pars and a birdie. And before you say it, there were a couple of lucky shots but about time it swung my way. The rest was pretty golden. I've been swinging everyday out on my mat on the back porch and the swing is pretty damn good. CHEERS!15 points

Starting to find my game or maybe just getting used to the new course. Still coming up a little short but I’m working on it. Chipping was very good leaving me with very reasonable putts. I was able to make two birdies, two bogies, and the rest were pars. It was nice to shoot even par. First solid round of the year. Got to shoot the breeze with the golf pro after my round and showed him pictures of the progress on the golf green. He offered up top dressing whenever I need it and also said they just got a new cup setting tool and said I can have one of the old ones. Boy this keeps getting better. He said he was also a licensed chemical sprayer and would come over and spray whatever product my green needs. Such nice people in my new area.15 points

morning everyone To follow up on yesterday's gm my daughter did very well at the heptathlon. She broke her college schools record for the most points earned at a meet by 138 points which is a good amount. She is a sophomore, so she has another two years to go. I think she will only get better. There were a ton of colleges there and she was coming in 4th place in a lot of events. I'm so impressed with her abilities and holding a straight A average. I submitted my Cobalt Q6 review this morning. So, I'm in golf mode again. My course is closed for open play today due to some qualifying rounds for a college event. But the weather is kind of crappy anyway. Tomorrow bright sunshine and in the 50's.15 points

Well, the good news is, no blizzards in the forecast this week! The only golfing for me since November has been in my mancave with a launch monitor... That said, I took up bowling last year and found some more golfing partners to play with when our courses finally open (sometime next month, I HOPE!).14 points

Morning everyone, up early this morning to get some grading done for the class I am teaching. Always feel great when I wake up and get the ball rolling like that for the day. Looking forward to the warm weather today. We tapped out maple tree and the sap is flowing like crazy with the weather. Got probably a gallon alone from yesterday, had to empty it yesterday afternoon and then again this morning. Won't amount to much but it is always fun to make a little of your own.14 points

Morn all. Summertime change (DST) is next weekend, but already the sun's rising quite early—6am. Summer's coming!14 points

GM, up early for coffee & breakfast. Working on tuning irrigation system this morning cleaning out grass/weeds and adjusting sprinkler heads. Neighbor down street in having entire yard resodded and I grabbed a little bit to fill in a couple bad spots in my yard.14 points

Cleaned up all the sticks in the yard, blew the leaves off the patio, and did the dishes. Time to go reward myself with some new golf shoes before playing today14 points

Hey everyone, trying my first post here! Good morning!! What do you have planned for golf today, this weekend? My 14yo Son has HS golf tryouts tonight (in a dome because we still have like 8" snow on the ground), then we are heading to Birdi Golf tomorrow to play 9 (Bar with Sims). I'll post picks over the weekend!13 points

Morning all! The rain has FINALLY called it quits here in SoCal, at least for the next 10 days or so, and I am a very grateful man. It's the wife's birthday today, so the morning was spent watching her "open" cards from the kids (with full explanation of what she was looking at as well as the VERY nitty details of how they were made by my 7-year old..."then I used the GREEN marker, here, here and HERE, to make grass!" (wife: "uh-huh....where's my coffee? I MEAN THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL!"). Really sweet. I managed to make her laugh with a romance novel, a bottle of her go-to Rye, a box of Fruity Pebbles (her favorite cereal as a kid), and a printout of the gift that was SUPPOSED to be here this past week, but is instead going to be 6 days late - but it's a killer painting that she's had her eye on for months, and I managed to surprise her, so ... bonus! She's off getting a birthday-tattoo to celebrate her mom (who passed several years back), which is pretty rad (both her honoring her mom and the tattoo itself), so it's quiet here without my "coworker." Managed to get through all 6 pages of comments on the Paradym testing thread - WOOHOO! It's so awesome to finally get to talk about the testing starting this year - you guys (and gals) are in for some really spectacular stuff, starting with this incredible testing opportunity. Alright - that's it! Happy Thursday (my Friday)!13 points

Good morning and glad to see you chose the Good Morning Thread to join in our friendly group. I think you will find this a worthwhile addition to your day and find the people who contribute here and throughout the MGS forum to be the kind of people who you would choose to have as friends. That is why I am involved here. Welcome in13 points

Good Thursday morning everyone! I'm waking up, drinking coffee, and getting maintenance scheduled for my car. I feel fairly productive for 4 in the morning. Hopefully I can get my PTO approved for it, my supervisor isn't the best at getting in a hurry about approval. I found out yesterday we have to work Saturday. I've been volunteering the last few, but knowing we have to produce instead of helping finish is a bummer. It's still going to be a good day today. I'm looking forward to the community call this evening.13 points

Morning! Late this morning - been a busy document-heavy morning here at work, but the day got off to a lovely start - coffee, kids in funny, weird mood, and then sunshine poked through as we walked out to the car to head to school, and this guy showed up. Super fleeting, happy to have seen it, and it feels like it bodes well for the rest of the week (wife's bday is tomorrow, snip-snip healing well, golf soon, etc.). Happy Wednesday, folks!13 points

GM Y'all!!! HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! The weather is still kinda dreary(drizzly/foggy-at least the winds not blowing) and we're heading to the tee times on the weekend!!!!! The greens should be REALLY receptive. Hope those that are getting out and enjoying better weather have amazing rounds13 points

Morning all, last day of the weekend for me. Going to change the oil in the commuter car, get the motorcycle uncovered and put the battery back in, and get the snowblower put away for the year. But first some coffee and eggs to start the day. Hope it’s a great day for everyone13 points

Good morning everyone! We've made it to the halfway point of most of our work weeks. There's a light sprinkle going on right now with forecasted rain for the rest of the day. My coffee is nice and warm as I'm sitting here working on my morning motivation. I hope all of you have a wonderful day.13 points

Happy Tuesday, GM thread, my order of priorities today is 1)coffee 2)catch up on stock market madness 3)grooming At some point I'll venture out to buy some essentials that are low. Having a 3:50pm tee time I have time to find a spot to fuel up with a solid meal, something I rarely do before golfing. I may leave early to explore the area around the course, as I've rarely driven 1 hour NW from my house.13 points

Morning, I had a nice phone call with my bank this morning to stop some fraudulent charges on my debit card, so now that's canceled and I'm waiting on a new card to show up in the mail, so I have that going for me... Today will be a rough enough one as is. C'mon universe, help a brother out.13 points

Good Morning (Ok... it's late morning but I'm still drinking my coffee so it counts)! Actually in the office today, which is probably good for actually getting stuff done today. A lot going on outside of work with exciting forum stuff coming up and baseball starting soon for the kids. I can just feel the Spring time coming!13 points

Still getting out to the garage 2-3 times per week to hit balls, but had been struggling recently. The weather is so close to changing for the better, which means I'm getting the itch to be outside on the range rather than indoors. I find my temperament starts to get worse this time of year in regards to my practice and I get frustrated all too easily. That being said, yesterday was one of the best sessions I've had in probably over a month. Lots of good swings, lot less draw than I had been seeing for the past few weeks. Still working heavily on setup, but also focusing on the backswing turn and ensuring I don't get the club trapped behind me. Finished the session with some off-the-deck shots with my fairway and was happy with the flight and club/ball speeds. Topped out around 111 MPH club and 162 MPH ball, so that's promising. Stack work has been paying dividends. Supposed to be 40-50 degrees almost all week so the snow should be gone. Might be able to start putting outdoors next week, depending on when the practice facility decides to open. If we can stay dry the range might open in two weeks and my course won't be too far behind. About a month out hopefully.13 points

It was sunny, cool, and windy today so I decided it would be a good day to go to the range. Actually, my wife suggested it since she's not feeling good and is spending most of her time in the bedroom. I'm not going to say it was my best day, but it surely wasn't my worst. I'll just say it was fun getting out hitting some balls. My wedges were horrendous. Shank, shank, shank, shank, top. That last one was setting me up for the theme of the day which was thin. It seemed like most of my shots were coming low off the face. I only hit a small bucket, so I was limited to the number of shots I hit per club. My set GW was probably one of my better clubs today, I was slightly off the heel but hitting nice shots near my target. I love this club. The 8 iron was a little inconsistent, but I was still hitting it decent. The 6 iron was trying to cut the ball in half. I hit some low screamers with it, but the contact was pretty consistent. I hit a couple of good shots with my 5 wood, but topped one so bad it wasn't funny. I think I should start spraying the bottom of the club to check contact there. Driver was pretty good. I hit one high toe and you can barely see the impression next to the "Flash Face" writing and the others were a little more near the heel. I was happy with the consistency. I need to continue to work on a pre shot routine and not freeze so much over the ball. I've gotten better than I was where I was locked in terrible thoughts for way too long standing over the ball. After I left the putting green I found a couple of balls sitting close to the mat in a puddle of water and hit some chips with them just sitting the club down and going. Those were the most pure wedges I hit all day and a proof statement not to be a basket case over the ball. I did roll some putts, where I started out pulling everything. I made a slight adjustment in set up and focused on rolling the ball over an intermediate target and got that straightened out.13 points

I know I have gone over this somewhere, but worth repeating. It may be in the Want to be a tester thread, first post. Anyway we filter the applicants. Profile photos are a must, then we filter for roughly 20 posts and then we are left with maybe 5% and if we go to 50 or more posts it is 2% of the applications. Nearly 90% are one off or "tester only" applicants who only sign up for tests. All in all we create our short list which @GolfSpy_BOS transfers over, we all give our input and usually there is some overlap on who we like for a test and have a bit of discussion on who we want. Some cases we don't select someone because we feel they would be better for another test or they have tested irons recently etc. It seems like a lot and would take forever, but really we can have it all done in the span of a normal call which is about an hour.12 points

As we have launched our first test I implore all new members and guests to check this test out. It should help nearly all your questions about how and who we select for testing. Important to note. These are NOT contests to be won, but reviews that come with the expectation of a full review, thorough participation, updates and communication with the community throughout the test. They are also grade and those grades help or hurt future chances with testing opportunities. Also as we have seen for this most recent test. Multiple entries = automatic no selection. Again they are not contests, they are work and there is a commitment to the community that comes with being selected. We hand select each tester for each test. Sometimes we have to pass on very good candidates, but maybe we are saving them for another test or maybe we just need to see a little more!12 points

First outdoor 9 hole round (any round) since November 12th last day before closedown of last course open in WNY, March 22 had some great shots, a couple good holes and only 1 lost ball. I could gloat that I shot below my age but a 60 for 9 holes isn't anything to cheer about, maybe I shouldn't even mention it All kidding aside, rough start to 2023 but it was golf, it was fabulous to be on course, and joined 3 other kind hearted men for a most respectful and enjoyable round. Game is definitely ON and destined for better rounds to come 53F, slow greens, persistent westerly winds, complete overcast, will definitely take this over every day of the year before this so far. Lots of tree damage on the course from the heavy snow storms that rolled through about every 3 weeks since Thanksgiving.12 points

First real round of the year. Shot a 95 where I was hoping for a 90. Oh well. A lot of stupid mistakes and triple putts where I felt I could have done better but was rushing myself in the moment. Only 1 birdie on the day, 15th hole Par 4 landed it here off the tee… then proceeded to 2 putt it in. Felt like my driver was the only thing working well for me today, putting was terrible and my iron choices were either wayyy long or short. Plenty more to improve on now that we are seeing temps in the 60’s briefly in the afternoons for the foreseeable future! Hoping to come back and play the other 18 holes here at Lyman’s next Tuesday12 points

Good Morning everyone! Woke up to 43º... a little cloudy this morning but sun is supposed to come out around noon and warm up to 60º. I see 67º in the forecast!! Today is a fasting day until dinner tonight, so just coffee. My wife is playing this morning with girlfriends; I will head out to practice when the sun is out. I need to work on my short chips.12 points

Good morning all. Nice mild 30 degree morning here in Wisconsin leading to a high of...wait for it...MID 50s!! I saw a facebook post that a golf course in the Madison area, about an hour from where I live, was opening today. Home course won't be opening for I would say at least another three weeks with some large swaths of snow still covering areas that don't see much sun, but we are getting there. Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day as well. The spring program at my son's school was really enjoyable. He goes to a K-8 catholic elementary school, so while the singing isn't always exceptional, the music teacher does a great job with the kids and you can tell they really have fun with it. I am a self admitted sap ever since my boys were born, and there was a song that tugged on my heart strings a little bit yesterday. I may have shamelessly shed a tear. The song was called If This Is The Last Time by LANY. Had never heard of it until yesterday, but something about a gym full of kids singing this song directed at all the parents got me. Linked in the post here if you're an emotional music listener like me Have a great day everyone!12 points

On a buddies trip to Myrtle Beach. My first round of golf since November. The driver was a slice-o-palooza. I made the switch to my 3 wood and started finding fairways. We play the West Course at Myrtle Beach National. The greens were fast and the flags were on some nasty slopes. If you were above the hole, putting was treacherous. Oh and it was 42 degrees at tee time. (My inner dialogue was, “I left Syracuse for this? )12 points
