I love it when a new model comes out because the choices in the used market increase!! Over time ( lets say 5 years) you may not get much of a performance boost from changes in clubhead tech. But maybe your swing has evolved (or de-volved) to the point that a change in loft or shaft choice helps performance. And maybe a shaft change works better with a different clubhead since those things are tightly intertwined. It can be fun to try out the different options if you like hitting golf ballsand are a bit of a data nerd. Or you can live vicariously through @Golfspy_CG2 !

Got out today for the first time in 2024. Played 8 holes and had 7 pars. So i figure i have nowhere to go but down from here! Of course the short winter tees were in use still so there were no 400 yard par 4's. But i was encouraged to see my distance was within 1/2 club from last year. If todays yardages are not a mirage then I expect when it warms up a bit i will have kept my club yardages the same. The winter time core flexibility exercises seem to have worked.

I am gaming the Edison 53 & 57 from the MGS testing this past fall and added the Edison 49 late December to complete the set. KBS 120 stiff shafts and GP tour wrap grips.

Tuesday evening is league night for 9 holes and then saturday or sunday evening for as many holes as possible. I dont play weekend mornings if i can avoid it because of slow play. I dont have the patience necessary. After about 3 hrs of waiting between shots it isnt fun any more and i have mentally checked out.

Amen to what @Siamese Moose posted. I also have been lucky enough to be selected 3 times. The time required to adequately test on the course and gather launch monitor data is substantial. And then the write up time including video or picture editing can be a lot if (like me) those things need some extra concentration. Choose your test chances when your life circumstances allow plenty of time or it will become stressful instead of fun.

Her foot action doesn't bother me, but the way she gouges her wedges into the ground makes my elbow and shoulder hurt all the way through the TV!

Thats funny...one of my side gigs is to review, rate and offer suggestions for AI generated responses. Sometimes the exercise is to create the question and sometimes the questions are provided. A question i created over the weekend asked when to start playing game improvement irons and how to choose between the available models. The answers were pretty good and i only made a couple small suggestions. MGS was even mentioned by AI as a good source for equipment reviews too!

It doesnt have to be an imaginary ball! Everytime i drop a 2nd ball after messing up a shot i hit it perfect.

This time of year its the rechargeable hand warmer!!! Really hot days in the summer its the soak-able cooling towel. When playing in moderate temperatures its the Shotscope H4.

I agree i want a ball to be as consistent in quality as possible for a reasonable $ amount. One less variable to wonder about as the shot wanders off target!

I have followed the thoughts in the golf ball rollback thread the past few months. It seems quite a few here would say dont worry about the ball quality and consistency when it comes to your scoring. They would say your own strike inconsistency is a much larger variable in the quality of your shot than tolerances of weight, diameter, cover thickness and centering measured in the thousanths from ball to ball will ever be.

Two changes to the bag plus a change OF the bag this year. I got the MGS version of the Jones Trouper bag early in 2023. Late in the season i changed to a 10.5* G410 LST driver for a little more loft. Even later in the season i was selected for the Edison wedge test. The 53 and 57 replaced the gamers. I ordered a 49 to complete the wedge set up at the end of December. That club still hasn't been hit in the wild as the weather took a nose dive when i got it.

Good morning ... We have climbed to 12* from our low of 9* this morning. Its still too cold to hit balls into the net out in the pole barn. Practice is limited to the indoor putting mat in the basement by the coal stove. I should be around for the call today as outdoor projects are on hold this week. Have a great day!

Much like the Bills / Steelers, we have to postpone the outdoor putting activity until the 2" of snow clears from the green!! Unlike the Bills I wont be paying anyone $20/hr to shovel it clear! And yes, I hit the correct quotation mark, 2" not 2' puts us in panic mode in the mid-atlantic!!
