  1. oh i’m sure. i’ll watch it and see if i can steal it for cheap
  2. hmm i’ll put a bid in at $100 and see what happens
  3. this seems like one of those “too good to be true” scenarios: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-2020-Cobra-King-Speed-Zone-Speedzone-Yellow-9-Driver-Hzrdus-6-0-Stiff/402428127595?hash=item5db295e96b:g:q~kAAOSwY0xfDHs0
  4. ive never had an issue telling someone’s ball to come back into the fairway or to make it to the green. no matter what your game is, everyone’s trying to hit fairways and greens. i’m not gonna just stand there like a mute out on the course if we’re stuck together for 4 hours edit: the only thing i think is a bad look is saying this stuff on an obvious mishit. if you slice it 40 yards off to the right you’ll never hear me go “come on back!!”
  5. crazy how everyone plays such a different game. i can put a 40-50 yard chip where i want it most of the time, and tend to miss more from 100-120 with a full wedge shot going deeper into this question, you have to think about the scoring implications long term - over the course of a tournament or season or a few seasons. we’re all just thinking about how being closer or further out plays on one hole long term i think always being closer to the pin is gonna go a long way to lowering handicap and going lower on rounds
  6. broke 100 within my first few rounds still trying to break 90
  7. man i hate playing on the weekends at my local public course. 10th hole today there were three (!!!) groups on at once. full shots were a bit of a mess today, i was having trouble keeping the face closed. luckily i can walk away happy about my short game. had two great short sided chips that i put to within 5 feet, and a bunker up and down that i rolled out to within 2’ to save par.
  8. i agree with all of this. i’m new to golf and chose to go with small players irons over GI irons because i want to force myself to improve, as opposed to letting the clubs do the work for me.
  9. i used to know a girl that charged twice that to pure your shaft. she didn’t know anything about golf though
  10. yeah on its face that’s a fair concern a few things are at play though. i lose (or lost) a lot of shots with my driver. that has a lot to do with my high hcp. i also don’t need the help that GI irons offer. they’re all long and launch the ball high. lastly, im a very good athlete taking lessons and getting better quickly. in conversations between my coach, my fitter, and me, it was decided to give me something above my level now, and allow me to grow into it.
  11. if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself, i’d bring it to a body shop. they should be able to cut and polish a shallow scratch out.
  12. i’m assuming you’re referring to external rotation of the shoulder (with your arm held like a goalpost, this is the motion that brings your palm up to the sky) working off that, there are two areas i’d focus on 1. pec attachment 2. subscapularis
  13. got to the range for about an hour today. brought my 6i, 9i, and lob wedge started off with some chips. i’m trying to develop a go to chip shot. i’m finding pretty consistent high spin mid launch shots carrying about 50y if i bring by swing back to about hip height. moved into some full wedge shots from there, which felt great then went 9i, 6i working on ball first contact and downward aoa. fat shots are my biggest problem
  14. gonna have to explain why encouraging a ball while it’s in the air is a “no-no”
  15. former D1 baseball player and more recently a nationally ranked olympic weightlifter. i made my money generating speed through the middle. a golf swing and a baseball swing are way more similar than people give think
  16. i can get it up to 139-141 now, with my standard driver swing being 135. it would just be cool to know where my physical limit is.
  17. i use a Bushnell wingman as a speaker/gps and i play one course around here that has the cart GPS while my bushnell is spot on (checked against rangefinders) the cart GPS leaves a lot to be desired. i just think it’s too cost prohibitive for the courses to keep updating that software.
  18. on hot days i carry about 60 ounces of water with me along with a few easy to transport snacks what a lot of people don’t realize is staying hydrated is more about being proactive than reactive if you know you’re playing a round on friday when it’s supposed to be really hot, a gallon of water a day for a few days leading up to your round along with some stretching will reduce the need to carry and drink so much while you’re out there.
  19. reading through this thread has me wondering if SS Training can get me flirting with 150mph with my driver. i don’t think it’s necessary, my speed as is presents problems, but it’s fun to think about
  20. lol no, not a chance in hell. there’s really nothing a guy i met 4 minutes before teeing off can say that would have any staying power with me.
