  1. portland maine? if so i missed you by a day. we’re leaving acadia national park tomorrow morning and heading to portland
  2. (mostly) off the grid this week. 8 days of hiking and camping for our anniversary. my wife is still scared to fly because of covid so we loaded our son and two dogs into an RV and hit the road.
  3. that’s extremely particular, i can dig it. i can honestly say that’s not something that’s ever crossed my mind when buying a car.
  4. are u saying (budget not withstanding) that you’d buy a kia over a mercedes based on whether or not your clubs fit?
  5. my u500 2 iron has a 100g shaft, which is a big step down from my iron set which has 135g shafts. i’ve been slowly adding lead tape to get to a point where i can feel the head through my swing
  6. @RollingGreens congrats man! best of luck to the new parents and their healthy baby. i was in your spot a year ago and it feels like just yesterday.
  7. another question for you guys headed into my test: i use stats primarily to feed my ego and self worth, so those average distances need to be WAY up there. i use 7/8 irons around the green quite a bit for bump and run chip shots. are these gonna skew my averages and make me look like a far inferior man? will i have to put the 8i sensor in my driver for a few shots to make up the difference?
  8. im really sorry for the struggles you have to endure.
  9. let's imagine the crazy hypothetical where i don't hole out in 1 putt on a hole (laughable, i know) tap button to add my first putt, stroke putt, walk to ball, add again, hit again, walk to hole, add pin? is that right? i mean it'll never happen, but it'll be useful for my review so that people who don't drain every putt can understand how the watch works.
  10. i just got selected for the shotscope v3 testing, so i'm reading back through this thread for pointers to make using the watch as beneficial as possible. manual putting seems to be a no brainer. am i correct in assuming that you tap the watch while standing over your ball so it picks up the location, then tap it again when you hole out so it knows the hole location?
  11. posting my experiences about being suspended (which a few others have done anecdotally) seems relevant in a thread that's been discussing the heavy handedness of the moderators and admins over at WRX. was i a bit of a di*k? sure, ill allow that. but that's what happens when a few attempts to get answers respectfully go ignored. the mods here are amazing, but more than that they are part of the community and the daily discussion on this board. the moderators over there never post - they just drop the suspension or ban hammer from up on high, seemingly at their discretion for completely nebulous reasons. IF our mods were like that, yeah i think you'd see quite a few honest reviews of them popping up on other boards where members here spend some of their time. luckily that isn't the case.
  12. i decided to contact golf wrx by email to see if i could get some answers, but got stonewalled there too. just a big, juicy, medium rare nothing burger.
  13. i thought the same thing, but couldn’t find a list of sponsors. oh well.
  14. some guy was claiming that KT tape came out with the newest and greatest pain relieving cure. i told him it was snake oil and if he believed it worked then i had a bridge to sell him. i thought i did it respectfully, and even posted studies, but apparently they didn’t agree. i went on to tell him that the FDA also approved quaaludes and flame retardant in soft drinks. maybe that was it.
  15. what a relevant thread, because i just got a 7 day suspension from WRX
  16. 100%. i’m pretty sure morikawa can hit his 6i off of a dinner plate without even cracking it.
  17. gotcha. hopefully it works. i’d play that first hole as 6i/9i and the second hole as 8i/pw i understand that closer to the hole is usually better, but on short par 4s like that, the risk of hitting a driver OB outweighs the possible reward of having a chip on to the green. at 325 for that second hole, could you play it 7i/7i? or 6i/8i? might be worth a shot.
  18. why not just hit an iron? i only hit driver 3 times today. hit 3w on a par 5 and just hit irons on the 14 other holes. im assuming the holes you’re talking about are short par 4s. getting home with 2 iron shots shouldn’t be too difficult.
  19. driver was the star of the show today the last one was dead into the wind. absolutely my best drive of the day and would’ve outpaced the other two easily.
  20. 42/42 84 9 fairways 6 greens 32 putts driver was on fire today (3w also). if i had any wedge game at all i would’ve shot 6-8 strokes lower.
  21. can’t pick between these two from tonight’s 9 hole twilight round 3w on the par 5 4th that left me about 160 out. always. nice when your second on a par 5 is from spitting distance of the 150 stick gap wedge from 130 on the par 3 7th. pitched pin high and kicked to 8ft. then i lipped out the birdie putt
  22. snuck out for a twilight 9 and managed a 39. played multiple balls, keeping score on my first and working some different approach and greenside shots with the rest. a course completely to myself isn’t something i get very often so i took full advantage.
