  1. It is very happy to be back in the bag as well.
  2. Update: Driver head was delievered to Dicks yesterday and was also picked up. In total I was without the driver head for about 2 weeks which is really quick considering there was shipping both ways. Titleist seems to have went the full replacement route and the specs are bang on the money. Head weight was almost exactly the same at 196g with the plastic and it is in perfect condition. Now all that's left to do is a screw it back onto a shaft, spec it out, and give it a go.
  3. That would make sense. While these clubs were built by club champion and not srixon I would assume that would be the same way they went about them.
  4. I have to eat my hat here a bit and take back my comments on the length and build quality of the trial SMS 7i. My club ruler came in the mail a few moments ago and the first thing I did was measure the SMS and my ZX7 7 irons and the results are in. The SMS measured out to a length of 37in even which is exactly what it was ordered to. The ZX7 7i that was built by club champion measures out to 37 1/4in for length and was actually the incorrectly built club. I actually still have my old build "prescription" and it was supposed to be built to a length of 37.0in so the 7i is built 1/4in too long.
  5. Also special shoutout to @Marlin Dave and @GolfSpy_KFT for the additional solutions to my predicament. Love the support that this community has for one another.
  6. I'm not gonna disagree with you here and I think that Ping themselves would admit that G400-G410 was only a slight improvement if anything and not a huge leap forward. the G425 and G430 I think they seem to have fixed the ball speed issue that I am currently having but hey it's a backup driver so as long as I can hit it well and keep it in play I don't need much more from it.
  7. I appreciate the compliment on my review and was glad the handicap breakdown was relatable. All too many times I play with someone new and they say there's no way that I'm a 12 and the amount of times I've been called a sandbagger is far to many to get worked up over. I have just learned to play my game and that 's how I get the most enjoyment out of it is by hitting the ball really hard and hitting some nice iron shots. Short game is what I have been shifting a lot of my practice to as of late and have found great success in improvement. I've found using the same motion and just changing clubs to let the loft do the work has been the biggest improvement and easiest to practice.
  8. I've been hitting the Ping for about a week and I don't really get to bothered by the sound or feel of it. To me any contact with the driver that isn't middled or close to middled doesn't feel that great so I don't put too much stock in sound and feel with the driver. That being said I 100% agree that when the TSR3 was struck out the middle it was the best sounding and feeling driver I have ever hit. Interestingly enough I'm finding that the Ping severely is lacking on ball speed where as the best strikes have a smash factor on Trackman of 1.46 and it's nearly impossible to get higher than that. So hopefully my TSR3 is covered, replaced, and back in my bag soon where it rightfully belongs.
  9. Driver head was dropped off at my local retailer a little while ago today. Nothing really left to do now but wait on some hopefully good news and starting getting acclimated to the G410 LST. Estimated warranty lead time from speaking with Titleist is 3 weeks supposedly but I'm fully prepared for it to be at least a month and a half.
  10. I think they will but its just a matter of how long it is going to take unfortunately.
  11. I'm not gonna disagree with you here especially seeing Taylormade and Callaway having 2 year warranties despite releasing new drivers each year but each company can prioritize things their own way. I also still haven't had the opportunity to send the photos but I am waiting on an email response from them So I haven't gone scorched earth on the company just yet. I am still in the early stages of finding other options and in the meantime I have a Ping G410 LST waiting in the wings that is going to get reshafted with a HZRDUS Yellow 6TX that could be a suitable replacement. I will continue to update the replacement process here as time goes on as I think that's insanely valuable to members here. Numbers wise that's pretty spot on and it slowly creeps up to the high 320's for total distance when I get the spin a bit lower to allow for more run out. But I really do love both shafts the RDX BLUE just was easier to square up and lower the spin due to strike point. I am hopeful that Titleist will resolve this issue though because I think it would be a really big shame if I don't get to play this setup again because if I have to replace the head I'm gonna try some new stuff because why not and its gonna have to earn its spot back in the bag.
  12. Congratulations to all the testers! Really excited to hear about the fitting process almost as much as the putter testing themselves.
  13. Update: The HRZDUS RDX Blue has been working lovely as of late produced a fantastic high launch low spin ball flight. The misses with the RDX Blue were high and spinney while the misses with the UB7X were low and to the left. I could honestly play either shaft and be happy based off of this session but that's not always the whole story. The reason the RDX was in the bag and was a success was because the lighter weight and slight counterbalancing just felt easier to deliver at slower speeds where as I really needed to be swinging fast (not hard) to get the most out of the UB7X. Unfortunately it has worked too well and I have cracked the face of my TSR3 this past weekend. I have reached out to Titleist about this issue and unfortunately for me Titleist only offers a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase which for me was either October or November of 2022. My only hope of having this replaced was if this issue is from a manufacturing issue and my TSR3 was doomed to fail from the beginning. This is what it looks like to me as that's a horizontal stress fracture but the only way I can get it covered is to send it to Titleist for it to be evaluated on their end.
  14. My thoughts exactly. There are a lot of things that I like about this iron and I could see it being a great long iron combo with the SMS Pro's but my gamers dont need to be replaced just yet. However Edel is for sure on my radar when that time comes.
  15. *Update* After a very brief experiment with the TAIII 56° being replaced by the SM8 56° the TAIII is back in the bag and reassured I made the correct decision after my review. I have been fortunate enough to get a few rounds this winter under my belt here in New Jersey and the TAIII has been lovely in the bag still. I will also say that the 60° is my biggest savior when chipping around the green as well. Genuinely considering replacing the 60° with another one when the grooves start to wear out a bit after next season.
  16. For those that participated in the black friday opportunity will you be purchasing the rest of the set or returning your 7i? And if returning did you get your return label yet?
  17. All good things to consider. I think this training aide should be helpful in what I am working on as well as being a good tool for warming up on those days when there isn't enough time for the range. I do intend to discuss the training aid with the teaching pro I go to and see if its something that in his opinion would provide the benefit that I think it will.
  18. Looking on pulling the trigger on the Golf Slingshot for sequence training and potentially some more speed training. Unfortunately there isn't a ton out there that goes really in depth on the product. Are there any fellow spies out there that either own one or tried one and if so what were your results?
  19. So I ended up benching my 56° TAIII wedge for my round this past Thursday and subbed back in my SM8 56° for the day and my practice sessions since then. The main reason for this was I just got the yips with the TAIII in my hands while on the course which is strange because practicing with it there are zero issues and still genuinely love the wedge. I think my indoor practice is able to hide the fact that maybe the sole grind and 12° of bounce just aren't for me when it comes to actually being out on the course. I'm reasonably sure I mentioned this in my review but looking back I think the 54° bent 2 degrees weak might have been a better fit for me. I will say though on a positive note the 60°LB is still very comfortably in the bag and isn't going anywhere any time soon.
  20. So I am in agreement with this. I don't like the idea of the ball being rolled back but its gonna happen anyway so it is what it is. What I also dont agree with is how little its going to be rolled back because especially at the tour level 15yds is not a lot and they can easily gain that back over time. Hell the group coming up in 6 years is gonna be overcoming this because they have been training speed their whole lives. What's going to be interesting to me is how much distance is lost on the misses. does a good shot lose 10-15 but a miss now loses 30 additional yards from what your miss would have been with the current ball? To me that is where things can become actually game changing and you can appreciate those well hit shots more.
  21. This might be an interesting take but since the rollback is only going to take 15yrds from the pros and thats only like a club for them why not make the hole itself smaller. One club difference to them isn't that big a deal but if the hole diameter shortened by a half in or so we would most likely see a lot more missed putts and thus higher scores. Everything else can stay the same but if that 70% make percentage from 6ft becomes 50% scores would be going up and the game would get harder without changing much of anything else.
  22. A little late to the unboxing party but here are some photos of the SMS. I went with Dynamic Golf X100 as the shaft since I play DG 120's and the additional shaft weight of Tour Issue X100 never bothered me all to much and for grip I just went with tour velvet midsize so nothing fancy on that end. Put of the box these things are absolutely gorgeous and I was very excited to hit them as soon as I got them. They definitely are a larger profile iron from the back and sole but for the players distance category they have a great shape. The thing that stands out to me the most is there is a fair amount of offset but its not off-putting and I love how short the blade is from heel to toe. I would say its a bit smaller than my ZXy's however the ZX7's have a thinner topline and less offset as well. and that satin finish is I will admit a nice touch over a shiny chrome. There are some negatives of unboxing though. The first one is that the SMS and my ZX7 are both supposed to be the same length on paper but the SMS is 1/4in shorter. Now I haven't taken them to a ruler yet as I don't have access to one but I have had my ZX7 measured before and I know that it is deadnuts 37.0in. I did get the SMS iron 1° upright so this may be the reason it appears shorter so if anyone has any insight on this possibility I am all ears. Having hit them since their arrival they don't feel shorter and they don't play any different than my ZX7's in terms of length. The bigger negative for me though is that I never received a tool for the weights in my shipment. I will be reaching out to Edel about this issue and report back however it is also not a major issue as I have an allen key I can use on my own but it is a slight disappointment.
  23. That's a great point. I had them bent 1° upright so that would make sense.
  24. Noted. It's not big deal as the club was still shipped without a single scratch but curious as to others experience.
