So the rough average distance of the par 3’s is about 150 yards. Some are longer and a couple are shorter. There is a course called Angel Park Cloud 9 that is about 100- 120yards per hole. If you go during the day, there are 12 holes. Night time is only 9. Give that a look when you come. Lots of approach and short game opportunities on that course.

yeah, that’s why I was saying that LIV would be the most capable because the field size is so small.

I wish that LIV, the PGA, and the LPGA would come up with a way to let you choose who you are watching. I have favorite players in all of the leagues and even if they aren’t battling for the lead, I would still like to watch them. I would think this would be easiest for LIV because of the limited field size. Make it happen! In regards to these players getting rusty/soft, I’d say it’s entirely possible that it’s happening. It will be very interesting to see how they do at the Masters.

I definitely think there is something to it in regards to the guys not staying sharp but I think it’s too early to make a judgement. Reed was making scores a few weeks ago on DP but had nothing this time. Guys do have ups and downs so we will see if they come “up” soon. If in the next 2-3 rounds they are still not scoring, my panic button for them will definitely be getting pushed. I don’t think I disagree with you in regards to your comments about LIV growing the game in general. I don’t think that them choosing Mayakoba instead of Mexico City is evidence of that. I don’t know what courses are available in Mexico City or how they could handle an event like that. I have no evidence one way or the other on that other than we know Mayakoba can handle an event because it has handled many of them before.

On a different note, Phil lost a ton of weight and now just looks like a frail old man. The scores some of these guys are posting is really interesting to me. You’ve got some big name guys playing terrible and some lesser known players putting up some scores. Not sure how the PGA guys would have compared. I don’t recall a single round where Dechambeau put up any sort of decent score. Kind of surprising to me.

I haven’t been able to watch live during the rounds because I was actually playing my own golf both days. I do love that I can use the LIV app and watch full replays shortly after the rounds are done (within a few hours?) I never liked that it was difficult/impossible to get full replays of PGA/LPGA events. @berkeleybob not sure if it was mentioned before but you had a question about keeping track of how many holes were left because of the shotgun start. In the upper left hand corner there is a countdown. X holes left to play.

Date 02/26/2023 Course Name Durango Hills Gross Score 77 Course Handicap 16 Gross Strokes over/under par 19 Net Score to Par 3 Net Score 61 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 256 It’s funny when you look through the handicap rating of each hole and think “that’s supposed to be the easiest/hardest hole? No way!” I got a natural birdie on hole 3 which is the 16th hardest hole. It’s a 170 yard hole that I think I’ve only hit the green a handful of times ever. I would rank it in the top 5 hardest holes on the course. Oh well. Decent play today with 4 blowup holes.

Best golf I’ve played in ages. If it wasn’t for that disgusting five over on the par five, it would have been one for my record books. Three shots out of a bunker and a penalty stroke on one hole is never good.

You have to search for “livgolfplus” and it pops up. I have it on my iPad and phone now. It SEEMS like it will stream the event plus it has archives of last years rounds as well. It is weird that you can stream it from the app but that isn’t the weirdest thing about LIV.

Quick little note, LIV has an app that apparently lets you stream the rounds instead of having to use the CW app. We will see tomorrow how well it works but at least we aren’t limited to only using the CW app or potentially needing a cable subscription or something.

It was windy and the greens were much faster than I remembered them ever being. 4 putts on hole 7 almost caused me to have a mental breakdown. Gotta take the good with the bad.

I could definitely see this as being a part of the discussion. The justifiably could have wanted to pay him less money, and when he wanted control over his shirt that was going to be a non-starter for them, so they mutually agreed to end the relationship. My assumption is that if he was not trying to have control over his shirt that they may have been able to make a deal? My biggest point was that he didn’t get fired solely for being at LIV. Niemann is still an adidas sponsored athlete on the LIV tour so they sent firing everyone.

When I comes to Adidas and LIV, they didn’t fire all of their players on LIV. Sergio hasn’t been worth a dime for a long time as far as selling product. Makes sense they got rid of him. Niemann is still an Adidas athlete so it isn’t like they dropped all of their LIV athletes. In the ESPN article, it explains why DJ and Adidas split up and it makes sense. The fact that DJ says he will be still wearing their shoes tells me that it probably wasn’t a nasty split.

Looking through the new teams, they dumped/renamed a couple of them. The Niblicks and Punch GC’s are out while the Range Goats and Ripper GC’s are in. There has been several players who have come and gone on Liv but I think the “biggest” name is Hudson Swafford. He was a PGA player that apparently doesn’t have a place to play anymore. Wondering how he’s feeling right now. I was watching Full Swing and it reminded me how much I missed watching DJ play. Guy just has swagger.
