  1. As a reader more than poster, I want to take the time to thank the forum mods for the excellent job they do to keep this forum alive and well. Its truly a pleasure coming here to read and learn, and it is seemingly thankless work by the mods to protect this for the rest of us. To one and all, happy holidays and keep it in the short grass!
  2. ----Champions, Raymond, Airport, and Mentel are all municipals. First two very good, Champions I think is a bit better. I have played Airport, lets say I wouldn't travel from Cleveland to play it, haven't played Mentel. ----Deer Ridge I have played, good course, I'd go back. Similar in my mind to Ashland. ----Delaware, Glenross, Dublin, Royal American all owned by the same company. Good courses. Add New Albany and Clover Valley from below to this list. Maybe Bent Tree as well. ----Thorn Apple is a long, long course. Not the greatest shape but good value. Denison I haven't played but it's generally raved about. Darby is a great value course, challenging and in great shape. Safari is next to the Zoo and is in much better shape than in the past, but not memorable. Virtues is a don't miss (used to be Longaberger). Add Eaglesticks here as well. ----Oakhaven is a good course, but can be intolerably slow. Echo Springs is a fun course, kinda hidden. ----The last group I have played Rolling Meadows, The Ridge - both decent. Trout Club is a lot of fun, I enjoy this one quite a bit. Kings Mill is decent. More where you are interested, there are too many here to give in-depth reviews of all!
  3. Hope everyone is healthy and all goes well! It’s always an exciting time.
  4. Just back from vacation. Still thinking 36 in june?
  5. Never played Brookside. Maybe worth investigating.
  6. Enjoyable round, thanks to everyone for a great opportunity to play a round! May is out, I am heading out on early vacation second half of the month. I have played both courses and both worthwhile. Ashland is really easy to get to (off 71). You can’t go wrong with either. see you in June!
  7. Last I looked the rain should not head into the afternoon. Let’s hope that holds.
  8. You know if we cancel it will be a perfect day, but if we go for it its gonna rain. I'm ok either way. I don't think the forecasts are accurate enough this far out to call it off for what looks like on Weather app a one-hour rain. There, jinxed us.
  9. Just got this email. might be something we can use as a group.
  10. George is in, Blue tees. Looking forward to this. Wasn't Turkeyfoot just on Group Golfer? Should grabbed one... George is in, Blue tees. Looking forward to this. Wasn't Turkeyfoot just on Group Golfer? Should grabbed one...
  11. 16th or 29/30 all the same to me, whichever works.
  12. There’s a lot of dust in the room all of a sudden . Great story.
  13. I could do 16th or 30/31. Kid stuff popping up.
  14. I went with a bunch of buddies to Orlando a month ago. We played Grand Cypress ‘New Course’, which is modeled after St Andrews Old Course. Great condition, super fun, highly recommend.
  15. I am curious if anybody has bit on the Tours. They certainly caught my eye, but I haven't had a chance to swing one yet. I have the 2017 Tours and am curious how they compare.
  16. Getting back to this, my vote is Raintree, but any of the three will work.
  17. I'm going with planning an event to Scotland. Prove me right!
  18. I played Royal American last fall. It's a nice track, I thought in decent shape but not extraordinary. It has had some negative reviews in the past years but signs are it's picking up (new owners as of this year). I certainly enjoyed playing there. If it's on the short list, for a short time you can get 'punch tickets' that drop the cost a bit. I could get those, and would make the round less than $50.
  19. I played 9 today on an extraordinary 70 degree day March 1. April should be in the 80's, right? Lets go!
  20. I enjoy Trout Club over there. Quite a few good tracks in that area.
  21. I’d enjoy joining where I can. Columbus area.
