Hi everyone
Let me start off with agreeing to the 90% of you, your bag should be based on fitted equipment!
I'm only a HCP 26, so equipment for me is also not the important thing right now, getting a consistent hit is!
However, recommendations are still usefull.
My bag:
- I'm rocking the (fitted) Titleist AP1 irons, but only 6 through to P wedge
- I love my Odyssey White Hot Pro 2.0 Rossie with an oversized Super Stroke grip.
- Long hitting, my trusted partner (yes, I'm deeply in love with it) is the Srixon Z-F85 3-wood (standard grip & shaft) (200-220m/220-240yards)
- Short game is based on 2 2nd-hand Trusty Rusty wedges (51° & 57°) mostly, combined with an old McGregor DX Sand Wedge from my starting set.
- I'm experimenting with long irons (2nd hand Nike blade 3-iron in the bag) because my main gap is between 6-iron and 3-wood.
- Every driver I try is temporarily broken as long as my hands are on it...
- I do have an old rubbish resque hybrid (Also McGregor DX), but it's much much too flexible for me, and it's just utter rubbish.
- Tried multiple golf GPS's, but currently using the simplistic Garmin G10 attached to my bag or in my pocket, works best for me! (Tried Apple watch, multiple apps, ...)
- Apparel is mostly Nike, because it's good looking... (Nike Janoski golf shoes, Nike glove, Titleist cap!, Nike polo's, Nike pants)
- Not spending much attention to golf balls, however I try to have consistently the same balls. Wilson currently.
My 1 rule is that I do not break the bank! I don't need the newest, most expensive models... I need decent equipment which fits my needs and doesn't require me to win the lottery before buying it.
Any tips on what long irons, hybrids, or any other equipment can do for me, is very very very welcome (very!).
Thanks!
