  1. Hey guys, I'm not going to make the trip to Sunbury. The cost is a little higher than expected but not the reason for bailing out. I have to stay close to home due to health reasons of a elderly family member. If another round is planned for this Summer, I'll try and join.
  2. Haggerty I'll take a rain check for Glen Eagles during the Summer. It's a great course and driving range.
  3. Absolutely worth the trip. Mill Creek is a great public golf club with two 18 courses originally designed by Donald Ross. Tree lined, driving range, reasonably priced and great bar & grill. I haven't played Firestone in several years but it's a true links course with water and bunkers in play on several holes. Great clubhouse too. Another nice course is Kensington in the Boardman/Poland, OH area. If you make your way to Y-Town, let me know we can play a round.
  4. I'm new to MGS this year, live in the Youngstown area and willing to drive and play several courses in Ohio or Western PA. Count me in and I can bring a guest along if needed.
  5. myherobobhope We had one full session with wedge fitting which was just over an hour. Used a bounce plate with several markers on every set up. I tried Titleist, Cleveland and ultimately, settled on Mizuno PW and GW. The SW and LW had a better and more consistent results with the Callaway JAWS.
  6. I went to Windmill Golf Center in Macedonia, OH for my first full bag fitting which we completed over the past Fall/Winter. I also had my putter fitting at Tamer Win Golf Club in Cortland, OH who specialize in Ping putters. - Woods: Taylor Made Sim 2 Driver, Fairway wood and 3U hybrid - Irons: Mizuno JPX 92 Hot Metals; 4 thru GW - Wedges: Callaway JAWS 54 SW and 58 LW - Ping Heppler blade putter McFly
  7. I've been going to Windmill Center for fitting and driving range. You can't beat the heated stalls and they are very patient with the fittings which have included multiple clubs, shafts and Trackman data. Can't wait to hit their short holes side to work on the wedges and putters this Spring.
  8. I could not find this offer in Ohio, however, I did snag a deal on GroupGolfer (Ohio) for 18 holes and cart for $18 at a muni course in Solon, OH. Thanks for the lead.
  9. Hello fellow golfers This is the first forum I have joined and only because it's golf related. I am returning to regular play of this great game after spending years raising a family. It's my hope to practice more, take lessons and join a league to establish a real handicap, play new courses and meet new friends along the way. As you all well know, playing in NEOhio can limit your practice and play during the Winter months so I will be working on getting fitted for clubs and take lessons. I'm looking forward to hearing from others about golf courses played and recommendations on improving my game. Cheers!
