  1. Finally got the weights finished and learned how to engrave on the curved sole Weights are 8 & 18g.
  2. Do whatever works best. It's at that end of the bag that gapping becomes more important IMO. If it were me I'd be looking at a 46, 50, 54 & 58 to go with the 42° PW.
  3. I'm in and expect mid-table mediocrity at best
  4. Well, Friday was not so good all round. All of our 4-ball played pretty badly and none of us got past 30 points. A few shots to make it all worthwhile though, mainly with the driver this time: 2nd - 290y uphill, middle of the fairway 7th - 240y 3 wood (after a duffed tee shot) to 12 feet. 9th -320y drive, just off the fairway 10th - 280y uphill ("you won't get past the bunker") - past the bunker in the fairway 14th - 355y drive (3 yards short of the ditch across the middle of the fairway) 16th - 320y drive that faded perfectly around the corner into the middle. 18th - Needed a 5 to win, put my drive OB
  5. Did a little video now that the neck is finished: 20220329_133005_2.mp4
  6. I've got a 'wdge' flex in my 50° SM8 and just bought a 58° SM8 with a R300 shaft. No decernable difference between the 2 of full shots on the practice ground. I did a bit of reading up on the subject as the new wedge was supposed to be a wedge flex shaft, came to the conclusion that it doesn't make much difference which is what I found during practice,
  7. Played my 1st ever Texas Scramble on Saturday. That's a fun format! On the whole the team did OK but I played really well. Used 6 of my tee shots (4 each required) including 3 big drives and 2 par-3's (one tap in from 3 feet). Quite a few of my 2nd shots used as well. Didn't putt great but we've had greens maintainance week so they were'nt great. Hottest day of the year here in the UK so far so shorts & short sleeved shirt, got a bit of a tan too. Love topping up the vit D
  8. I can put the D anywhere or nowhere if that's what was required. The idea of the removable plate on the rear cavity is to allow for custom engraving I can mill it in any direction
  9. Thanks for the input, really useful idea and something I will look into. I can see how that would benefit the making process too
  10. Thank you, I really like the plate too and it's an easy mod to make something different to give it a different look or add weight. Thank you!! All in around 3 hours machine time. Lots of work on the side designing, writing the CNC programs etc. I'll get this one going and see how it works. Not sure if I'll make more but see how it goes
  11. Nearly finished the neck. Bit more polish on the sole. Really chuffed with the look. 345g without weights, 304SS, 3° loft, 72° lie.
  12. Thanks, I tried it on a piece of scrap metal 1st and came out perfect, just what I was looking for. I'll report back on the feel, the face is around 5mm thick in the centre. My previous attempt was around 4mm so hoping it's a little firmer. Decided, as the sole isn't seen at address, I would give it a polish. Made a start on the plumbers neck too:
  13. With the new SM9 out now I was on the lookout for some bargain SM8's. Found a 58° K-Grind for £109 in brushed steel. They sent me a tour chrome by mistake but last one available so knocked another £15 off
  14. So I lasted a month.... 58° SM8 K-grind to replace the old CG15 60°. Proper bargain now the SM9's are out
  15. Have now finished the face miling so the head is done. Going to leave this one raw as I really like the contrast of the milling. Current weight is bang on 300g without weights or neck so should be around 370g when all done. Weights will be around 18 & 9g.
  16. I've been really impressed with the last couple of Cobra drivers I've had. Now playing a Radspeed and F9 3-wood
  17. That's actually quite easy to do...
  18. Thanks I'd like to think I'm learing a little bit more as I go..
  19. Next step - add the weight ports & buff up the sole:
  20. Alignment & hosel port done!
  21. Getting to the stage when I'll be milling the face on my new putter so just wondering what your favourite machined face style is. Loads of options out there so looking for some inspiration, pics welcomed!!
  22. Just knocked up a quick logo insert for the rear cavity. This one is acrylic but could do any material/any engraving to suit.
  23. A bit more progress this morning: Really pleased with how it's going. Did some more research on our CAD package and have worked out how to include blend radii on all the edges which makes it look so much cleaner
  24. Hi Swanny Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated that people are enjoying the process. In answer to your questions: a: The ones I've sold have varied in price as one was a demo that sold for £140 with a generic headcover and the other was to my aunty so did her a great price b: More of a hobby at the moment but I've had some great feedback from the pro and the users of the couple I've sold. Might do a couple more demo's and go from there. I have all the kit at work to be able to make small batches. c:Weight is something I'm not too bothered by. I have a ballpark figure from 340-380g for the stainless steel ones. Not looked at doing a mallet style yet as I need to look into the design a bit more. As I learn I'll be trying to come up with different designs. d: I can mill the loft directly onto the face as that's the last operation I do. With the few I've tried myself I found 3° works for me. Cheers Steve
