  1. I have a Mevo+ and have been very happy with it, especially for the cost. It is a bigger footprint than some of the picture based models, but I didn't have space to leave a setup ready to go anyway. I can break down (or setup) my sim in less than 10 minutes. Mevo+ has improved since I've had it and so has GSPro software that I highly recommend. I sometimes drop connectivity late in a round if multiple people are playing, but I think that is due to poor internet more so than the unit itself. I will try to add pics of this as I don't have any since my latest tweaks. Planning on using it some this weekend for patrons of the house as I watch the Masters. All in all, I have had fun piecing together my simulator. It started as a piece of turf and a net and I slowly upgraded each section.
  2. Cut is -1 (143). Low amateur is Hagestad. Good luck to all and enjoy The Masters!
  3. I just received a box of Bridgestones in the mail today. I wasn't listed as being a tester or received any notifications with what is wanted in a review. I'm happy to do it, but want to make sure I'm supposed to post about them.
  4. Sounds like a great opportunity. Thanks Bridgestone and MGS for getting this put together!
  5. Play! Without hesitation! I've been to the Masters a few times and it is always a great experience I never turn down the opportunity if I'm able to go. My uncle has had the privilege of playing ANGC more than once. He even told me that he had to turn down the invitation once because he couldn't make it work logistically. When he told me that, I almost threw up! I told him if he ever gets invited again and cannot make it, to forward that invite on to me. I would drop most anything and start driving towards Magnolia Lane!
  6. All I use is a range finder. The shot tracking apps are cool, but I haven't found one that hits all the marks for me in performance and cost.
  7. I absolutely love my BOAs and greatly prefer them over laces. I like my shoes TIGHT and always feel like I struggle to maintain that tightness throughout the round with laces. I feel like I retie my shoes every 4-6 holes, but the same shoe with BOA I rarely adjust. Also, I had an excellent experience with BOA customer service. I have several pair of Footjoy DNAs with BOAs that have been well loved for several seasons. I had the back of the BOA system come out of one of the shoes recently and I thought they were going to be trashed. I contacted Footjoy and they said tough luck, because of the age and wear. I reached out to BOA directly and they sent me a replacement/repair kit free of charge. It was easy to install and the shoes are as good as new. BOA ALL DAY!!
  8. I look forward to my opportunity to test and review a product. I am a thorough reviewer who leans on hard data (when possible), but can express my subjective opinions on any product. I have competitive golf experience (former college golfer) but now am a weekend warrior (if even that often), so I feel that I have a good mix of nerdy, tech driven data with performance for players of different skill sets. My group that I play with has a wide range of skill sets as well, so I feel confident in finding pros and cons of products that are targeted towards different audiences.
  9. I still haven't received my package or any tracking info. Is there a way I can double check what was submitted on the google doc?
  10. I am hoping it is lower spin, flatter trajectory off the tee. When I evaluate a golf ball, I work from the green backwards. But with a lot of recent model changes, I haven't noticed as large of a gap in greenside performance as I have with driver numbers.
  11. Thanks to MGS for giving me this opportunity to be a first-time tester! I’ve enjoyed reading past reviews and it has definitely helped to guide me, so I hope this does the same for you. Looking forward to seeing what everyone has to say and seeing how these perform! About me: I'm a 39-year-old dad in Alabama. I have been playing golf since I was a kid and am a former collegiate golfer. Dad duties hinder the amount of time I am able to dedicate to practice and have limited my ability to play in competitive events. I am hoping that as my kids get older, I can pull one (or both) of them in so that we can enjoy this mind-numbing game together. I have always loved the game and I am always sifting through this forum, researching and buying gear. I have a semi finished simulator setup (mevo+ and GSPro), so I am looking to play a little bit more this year, either inside or outside. My handicap has crept up (due to lack of reps), but that makes me a great Member-Guest partner! My game: I’m a consistent single digit handicap. Most days depend on how well I get off the tee, which used to never be a problem for me when I was playing often. I am currently working this off-season to be more consistent with the driver and increase clubhead speed. I hang out around 105-108 mph consistently. My strengths are my wedge play and putting. I'd say that my weakness tends to be my driving. If I keep the ball in play, then I generally score well. Stock Yardages (Carry): Driver: 260 yards, 3 wood: 235 yards, 2 hybrid: 210 yards, 4 iron: 200 yards, 5 iron: 190 yards, 6 iron: 175 yards, 7 iron: 165 yards, 8 iron: 150 yards, 9 iron: 140 yards, PW: 130 yards, GW (50*): 115 yards, SW (54*): 95 yards, LW (58*): 75 yards Equipment: I currently play a TaylorMade SLDR 430 9* with Speeder 757 S shaft. YES, IT IS OLD AS DIRT! But I have tried (just ask the guys at the PGA Superstore!) and can’t find anything that has fit me better. Callaway Pro 3 wood with Speeder 757 S shaft, Nickent 17* hybrid with Graffaloy Blue S shaft, Callaway apex irons (4-pw) with s300 shafts, Cleveland RTX 50*, 54*, and 58* wedges, and TaylorMade Rossa putter. Current Ball: My current golf ball is usually a Titleist ProV1x. I will use most anything similar, since I am not competitive right now. I utilize Kirkland Signature in my simulator due to the cost and the wear I have noticed in the balls. What I Want From This Test: I'm hoping that the Callaway ball that we get to test will match up to the ProV1 and ProV1x. I tend to get higher than ideal spin with my driver off the tee and would benefit from a golf ball that gives me low spin with a penetrating flight. I generally have good spin with irons and wedges, and I want a ball that maintains a soft feel around the greens. I tend to prefer softer-feeling golf balls because I notice the feel more around the greens and coming off the face of the putter. How I'm Going To Test This: I have a Flightscope Mevo+ that I will use to generate hard data and compare it to other brands. I tend to chew through balls in the simulator, so I will focus on durability. I plan to then get some outside use, especially around the greens and will get in a few rounds if the weather cooperates with my schedule. Like many others here, this will be my first time as a tester. I'm very excited to share my thoughts, numbers, and feedback with everyone, and looking forward to the discussion! I will start taking notes, pictures, and maybe even a few videos as soon as my white box arrives in the mail.
  12. Let's Go! 1. Viktor will have the most points. 2. Rahm will secure the clinching point.
  13. Congrats guys. Interested to see the results of this forum test.
  14. Depends on other factors (what is short, long, where is the proper miss, what are wind conditions). In general, I lean on wedges and short irons if I feel like I need a few extra yards out of them. I will try to hit a trap draw and flight it a bit lower. Longer clubs, I usually choke down a touch and try to make sure I make an aggressive, committed swing. All of that goes out the window if the conditions are windy or gusty. I am almost always taking longer clubs and trying to flight the ball lower in windy conditions.
  15. Wish I could make it. But luckily, my plans are to tee it up at Pebble on June 12th. Good luck and play well to all those who signed up.
  16. Awesome stuff! Should be fun to watch all week and now I've got some guys to pull hard for!
  17. Heatherwood Golf and Country Club Hoover, AL 35244 Leave your driver at home and bring plenty of balls. This short, tight course is like a bowling alley at times.
  18. I love my Mevo+. Currently using the iOS version with the free courses, but planning on upgrading to a gaming PC in the near future. Enjoy!
  19. Thanks so much for putting this together! Best week of the year!!
