But, one really bad hole on the front and back ruined my score on Tuesday.

I live in a retirement community and many of the people I golf with are happy with a drive that goes 150 yards. My drives are 230 with an occasional 250. I bought the SuperSpeed clubs so maybe I'll start seeing longer drives once I start the training.

What's it like to hit 300 yard drives? Do you spend a lot of time waiting on the rest of the group to hit two or three times just to catch up to your drive?

Date 07/17/2023 Course Name The Nancy Lopez Legacy Country Club Gross Score 89 Course Handicap 12 Gross Strokes over/under par 17 Net Score to Par 5 Net Score 77 Net Birdies or better 6 Longest Drive 246 Special Event Returned to golf after a 2 week vacation and returned to the brutal heat / humidity of Florida in July. I couldn't hit a fairway with the driver, I couldn't hit a long drive and I couldn't get out of sand traps that hadn't been raked after the morning rain storm. Other than those complaints, it was a lovely evening of golf with friends.

Lots of fairways had standing water and no matter how well the ball was struck there was very little roll. Only managed a long drive of 257 yards tonight. It started raining as we putted out on the 18th hole.

Date 06/12/2023 Course Name The Villages Tierra Del Sol Gross Score 87 Course Handicap 14 Gross Strokes over/under par 16 Net Score to Par 2 Net Score 73 Net Birdies or better 8 Longest Drive 278 Started round on the back 9 and spent my time hitting second shot out of the trees on many of the holes. Finally got the driver under control on the front 9 and enjoyed hitting from the fairway which led to more pars and 1 birdie.

Florida weather changes every 10 minutes in the summer.

Highlight of the evening was a 267 yard drive threaded between trees.

When I played Tuesday night I found one of my wedges started to rust.

I use alignment lines on my golf balls. I started off playing golf using the Callaway Triple Track balls but switched to Srixon Z Star balls. I add my own alignment line to the Srixon balls and I feel the line helps my putting.

I’m sure my team will do just as well as a team selected by throwing darts at a board but it gives me another reason to watch TV Sunday afternoon. Fingers crossed.
