Golf Fanatic's Achievements

  1. just uploaded a picture of #8 par 3 at Fox Valley Golf Club. Picturesque view but a good challenge to score a birdie. Bogey is easily possible.
  2. I call DePere WI home. Play at a private course named Fox Valley Golf Club near Freedom. I like the track cause it is a great walking track, medium scoring challenge yet not so difficult it overwhelms a guy.
  3. Wanted to introduce myself, newly joined MyGolfSpy. I've used Golf Fanatic as a handle for the past many years, as I think it is a great description of me for golf. I live in WI where we have lots of terrific golf courses to enjoy but due to climate, also deal with shortened seasons. I've read MyGolfSpy reviews on products for many years now but by listing my profile, wanted to expand by learning from other golfers like myself, who just love golf. I don't participate in Twitter or Instagram but am sort of old school using email and the web. Here's a little about me: I am a golf fanatic! I love the challenge of golf, love playing it, working to get better at it. Golf stimulates me, offers me great commarderie socially, and healthy benefits of excercise & being outdoors. I not only play golf, but I enjoy practicing, watching, studying, discussing the game with fellow golfers, and have volunteered at PGA/LPGA events. While I live in an area where we can enjoy about 7 months of seasonal golf, which allows me to log over 100 rounds the last many years, I also use the indoor golf season to practice on a simulator, to improve and keep swinging. In my basement, I practice putting on a BirdieBall matt. I regularly participate in lessons throughout the year from local pros. The majority of my golf rounds are walking rounds with a push cart, and on the balance of rounds I use a cart. I use many of the tools of the game, especially gps which allows me to track my stats for number of putts per round, and greens in regulation. I measure metrics to understand how my game is improving or where it needs improvement. Currently my handicap index is 18.1, but 14 for the yardage I typically play. Last year my low handicap index was 15.3, down 3 from start of 18; so 12 for yardage I play. I'm hopeful of lowering my index to under 15 again this year with lessons and work I've been putting into my game. In my bag are the following clubs: Ping G430 Max 10k driver, Ping G430 5W & 9W, Ping G430 6H & 7H, Ping G430 8, 9. W, PW, 50deg, irons, Vokey 56deg wedge, and Ping Craz-e Sigma mallet putter. My bag is a Sun Mountain C130 but also use a Ping Traverse bag occasionally. I use Sky Caddie gps and scope range finders. I pride myself on keeping my equipment in clean condition, and serviceable for the game. Here's hoping I can learn from some of you and help others with what I've gained over the years.
