  1. I played the Taylormade Tour Response also until they kept jacking up the price. Then went to the Maxfli.
  2. Maxfli tour is my go to. I haven't decided what version i'm sticking with of three versions the Tour S, Tour, or Tour X. I am currently playing the Tour S in the colder weather. I just shot my personal best of the year with it on Sunday 39-37 for a 76. They are such a great value especially if you buy it 4 dozen at a time. I was sure to go stock up as some as they signed Lexi as I am sure the price is headed up soon. I absolutely love the looks I get when I announce what ball I am playing on the first tee. The looks are priceless. It's so strange how people don't know about this ball.
  3. It was my ball last year. However the price increase was just to much so I went to the Maxifli tour soft. Very similar feel.
  4. I'll be interested to see the real world comparisons for distance. The one thing that never gets talked about when it come to ball launch monitors is the dimple pattern. It make a difference yet every comparison that uses a launch monitor skims right past this when it comes to distance differences. If I were to guess I will bet you really end up liking the Maxfli and the Tour response.
  5. I think you have to look at your game and cost compared to the quality . For me my game is not good enough (15 handicap) to pay for a premium ball and my home course is an absolute ball eating machine. I want a premium ball but cannot justify the $55 per dozen that the OEM brands demand. That why I currently play the Maxfli Tour Soft. At $30 a dozen I can play a premium ball and it works great for me.
  6. One of my favorite things about this ball. Maybe I'm one to stray away from the masses as my previous ball was a Vice Pro in lime green. But its funny to see the looks I get from the Titliest snobs at my Country Club. I cannot recommend these Maxfli Tour S enough.
  7. I'm sure many have seen the test of GLOVE VS NO GLOVE test that MGS did a few weeks ago. While the test could have used some more info and testing of people who never wear a glove vs people who always wear a glove, I was very intrigued by the findings of the right bias of nearly 8 yards right when the testers didn't wear a glove. I do not, and have not ever worn a glove. This last week I was doing my weekly shopping for golf clothes at my local Ross (unbelievably cheap brand name golf clothes), I saw they had a couple of Under Armour golf gloves for $2.99. I decided to try it out for a day as my miss is right with a definite fade to slice issue. Well I was on track for my best score ever until I lost concentration for one hole (8 on a par 3) and it was spurred on by 14-16 fairways. The two fairways missed were draws to the left that I never hit as I was aiming left as I generally do. Both "misses" were long and great shots. I will definitely have to try this out more but it was one of the most mind blowing golf eureka moments of my life. I know it could have been a one off day but the initial results were stunning for me to say the least. Looks like another lab test has given me data to make an equipment change.
  8. Has anyone who has played the 2020 version noticed any significant difference in the new 2022 version? I have a couple of dozen of the new version but I am trying to go through my 2020 balls before i jump into them.
  9. I would love to try these. I'm not a fan of the increased cost compared to last years model of which I have 5 dozen currently. I will probably keep buying last years model for the $34.99 that Dicks has them for. This was a great ball that I hope the updates will improve.
  10. Good ball for the money. I just cannot get past the seam on the cover. It Looks horrible in my opinion.
  11. I also gave up on the AVX. To pricy and titliest free speech decisions are a no go for me. The best alternative I found for similar feel is the Taylormade Tour Response. $34.95 per dozen. According to the MGS ball test the Tour Response shows a peak height off a irons to be .5 foot higher trajectory at the mid swing speed. It also shows it to be slightly less spin of the iron and longer by 2 yards.
  12. Cant beat a transfusion, but it must be made with welches grape juice. The only issue I have is the two shots per dink. It can catch up with you on a hot day quite fast. Most courses look at me like in drunk when I ask for welches in it.
  13. The AVX is a premium ball. I played it for the majority of the year. It performs exceptionally well. I wish it were a little cheaper. Through the MGS ball lab testing, it showed me that the Taylormade Tour Response and the Maxfli Tour are exactly what I am looking for in less spin and softer feel and in the same category as the AVX. As each can be had for $15-$20 less than the AVX I have made the switch. I will definitely buy a sleeve and try them out.
  14. It is interesting that you think they spin to much. I play them specifically to limit the spin off of the driver and the MGS ball test data suggests the ball is a low spin ball. I will be looking to try a few of the new AVX balls when released. I agree with you on the pricing. Its one of the reasons I am leaning on switching to the Tour Response ball. Similar low spin and much cheaper.
  15. White vs Yellow? I prefer to play a yellow ball if I can. I have always wondered if there was any noticeable difference in performance between the two color options. I have seen that with the taylormade tour response and TP5 yellow offerings that the cover is more easily damaged by crisp iron shots and wedges. But I have not come across a test by MGS that actually analyzes if there is any difference on spin, compression, ball speed, cover thicknesses, etc. I played a Titliest AVX yellow for this past season. I think its cover was more durable than the white AVX, which leads me to believe that they have different performance characteristics. Has anyone else noticed any differences?
