  1. So Im a tinkerer. Im going to start dabbling in club building. I am not trying to start a debate on the IMPORTANCE of getting fit for shafts etc, i agree 100%. I've decided to experiment with a heavier graphite shaft due to my tempo. Ive been doing a lot of research about tip weighting graphite, particularly Steelfiber i95. I have a feeling im going to have to add 8+ grams to my 699 heads. It would seam as there isnt a really good solution to this as brass weights dont fit in the tip. Ive read that a lot of people drill out the shaft tip ID to fit them. This seems shotty to me, but it could be the industry standard? Im trying to avoid lead/rubber as i quite possibly will end up pulling the shaft again. Ive also read that you can lead/tungsten powder and cork the weight down there. But im confused as to how you can do that when the only ram rods i can find seem too big a diameter to get the cork all the way down the shaft with out getting stuck in these very small ID shafts. I can pick up some smaller diameter stock locally and make a rod, i believe. My other thought was to epoxy some tungsten into the hosel and tip trim accordingly, assuming i still have around 1” of shaft in there as well. Any insight from you veteran builders/tinkerers would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Clearly my post doest read as intended. I have no issue with SC at all. Putt with what works for you. Of course 3 putts from 10’ is not the putter. It was more a comment about the arrogance of the player. I play with about 100 strangers a year and i made up ZERO statements about my encounters with SC owners here in the Twin Cities.
  3. Thats not true at all. I know plenty of people that have improved greatly at golf tech and from taking lessons in doors. Is it the same as hitting on grass, and watching the ball, of course not. But to say that a player shouldnt take in door lessons is absurd. Good mechanics can be learned anywhere. Lets not forget, Mr Hogan worked on his swing playing pretend golf with out a club on the way to the store for his mom. Pretty sure the fancy computers and indoor matts offer more feed back than that. @Sluggo42 good to see the positive feedback and excitement to play and improve! Keep it up!!
  4. You could take pictures with a phone of the metrics display instead of the ol jot down method.
  5. Yeah dont feel foolish. Ive played with guys/gals that have some pretty unorthodox clubs, that perform great for them, or are super reliable confidence clubs. I cut 1.5” off my 5w last year and put 12g back in the head. Huge gamble/experiment. Its a stud now. Hit it 10 yards further and WAY more consistent outta any lie. IE, I hit a green from 225 out of a fairway bunker with it to 12’ Saturday. Some luck, but never doubted the shot decision. YOU DONT KNOW IF YA DONT GO!
  6. Its not the maneuverability thats the issue. Its how well it rolls that id like to improve. Less friction would be ideal, wether it be bigger wheels or better bearings. The carts great otherwise.
  7. Thanks for the insight guys. Please include brand and models of what you guys are using. And FTR its not about not being able too push it. I pushed it for 72 holes this weekend, just fine and was gonna play again today, but it snowed. It was more that i noticed how much of a difference it made with a heavier bag on it. Which got me to thinking that there may be something better out there, that requires less effort, leaving more in the tank for the important stuff. Its no more a “waste of money” than upgrading to a slightly newer driver with head cover and wrench.
  8. Hills… what are those? Im in Minnesota!
  9. How do you feel it pushes? Im looking for something that “glides” well. The Sun Mountains dont fold down well from what ive seen which is why ive been hesitant to purchase.
  10. Currently I have a Bag Boy Nitron. It was a fine cart before i got a cart bag, C130S. Its still ok, but I feel like it takes more effort to push than what is ideal. So im looking for possibly getting a different one that rolls better with a heavier bag. It got me to wondering if I need to go to 4 wheels instead of 3 and sacrifice a little maneuverability. Any recommendations or input?
  11. I know you haven't had it long, but thus far, is it better than the skytrak? Using indoors i assume?

    LA Putters

Thats surprisingly expensive. Their commercial is so tacky, TO ME, that i never would gave guessed that price tag.
  13. I love that guy! Its additional entertainment for the round! 20 yard opening for the first 100 off the tee, and hes still gonna try driver too! Love it!
  14. Heres what pisses me off about scotty. The majority of golfers that i encounter on the course, with scottys, act superior. Most of that group is gonna 3 putt outside 10’ every time. Its amazing to me how many times ive had some one with a scotty say something like, “you putt really good, imagine how great you could be with a newport” or “you should upgrade to a scotty”, etc. I just smile and take it and dont argue, im gaming a SeeMore PRP M7X. Thats what pisses me off. Rant over
  15. Touch up paint from auto store or GOOD nail polish. Tape it off and fill it in. Itll look WAY better for 12$. Stop skying drives . i
  16. Thats what it is!!!!!! I couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks!
  17. I had one. Works ok outdoors. Super finicky indoors.
  18. Wait, im still confused! If you “have customers” and “spine and flow every shaft”, how could you possibly not have a head wrench? Do you give them away?
  19. Well that would SUPER SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Here in MN theres a few months in winter that the suns only up for 8 hours give or take. Some of us will be working in the dark longer now.
  20. Well i let it sit for 2 days. Its stuck on there tight, finally.
  21. Na. The SuperStroke was a new grip. Ive used that exact one on this putter before with no issues getting it to stick.
