All of this!  Why then if I'm making these same corrections am I still a 30+ handicap instead of being closer to 3 as you are?  Maybe my out of position is a bit more severe and variable...

I did three sets split leg this morning. This is about the Good morning exercise right? 😛 . Great morning today. Sun is out, birds are chirping and hopefully everyone is feeling better in the house. Got gassed this weekend full of daddy/daughter time. Was a blast.

Date 04/23/2023 Course Name Surry Hills Gross Score 75 Course Handicap 0 Gross Strokes over/under par 4 Net Score to Par 4 Net Score 75 Net Birdies or better 3 Longest Drive 296 After my regular Sunday round, I ran into a friend and decided to play a few extra holes with him. Well, that turned in to 18 more holes really fast 🤣
    So, round 2. . .
Started the round tired. Finished the round reaaalllly tired. It was kind of like sprinting a 5k after just finishing a marathon. You know, for fun.
Really, it wasn't all that bad. I was still hitting the ball pretty good. Putts started getting sloppy then everything just went out the window by the end.
    #17
Topped the drive, pulled my 2nd shot, duffed the chip, 2 putt for bogey.
    #18
Slice, slice, good pitch shot, 1 putt for a miracle birdie.
#3 was probably the best scrambling I've done in a while though. #1 handicap for the course. Just a stupid hole layout. No clue what I did or was trying to do with my tee shot. The ball made it a grand total of 38yds with a 4H. Blasted a 3W to make up some ground and hopefully not go OB or one of the many trees in front of me. Easy 8i that ran forever down the hill, hooked a PW around the trees. I didn't mark the putt or pin location but I was maybe 15 feet across the hill slightly below the pin. Hard putt to make but somehow I drained it. I'll take a free par though, not complaining.

My uhh "long drive" for this round was actually with my 3W 😥 I guess I marked it as Driver on my app but yeah it was a 3 Wood. It was a good shot though. I was being aggressive and it worked out. Was maybe 10yds short of the creek.

My swing has left me!  Arrgh!  I had no idea where my driver was going.  One really good drive; the others were not.  Might have just been the waiting; will try again tomorrow.
The good news is that while it was chilly when we started, I shed layers about 9 holes in and finished with a golf shirt.  Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, and it's shorts/shirt with pullover that will come off at some point.  Nicer weather is coming!!

Some days just come together.  Wasn't even expecting much as I booked this afternoons round on a whim.  Weather was supposed to be decent after a few weeks of rain, contractor wasn't coming by, all of my clients were quiet and had ordered what I needed for the next year of travel gigs.  Was playing as a single, and was only a tiny bit annoyed at the group in front of me as I was trying to finish in about 3 hours to get back home.  I didn't make it btw, it was more like 3:45 and left half an hour later than I had hoped.
But, some days you don't do too bad on the front, then it doesn't get worse.  That was today.  Nothing felt very special.  I thought my putting stunk, and if you look at the first half it did.  Way too many backward Es.  I was hitting fairly well off the tees.  Not too far, but relatively straight and far enough.  Nothing was hitting the fairways, but misses were off just a yard or two.  Some weren't misses so much as they were a bit long for the angle they took, only because I was expecting them to go right and they didn't and the curve of the layout caught me.  This wound up being an advantage as the ground was still mush from all the rain and the center was a mud pit.  It was fine where the grass was longer and the roots were healthier and less trod upon.
I was pleasantly surprised to check my score at the end of the round and see that I had beat my previous best on this course.  Now I'm all warmed up for my Sunday round on the same side.
Humble brag about the birdie on number nine.  I hit it a bit short and left it half a foot from the edge of the green.  I nailed a 60' uphill putt for a very welcome two stroke 3.
First round with my new Shot Scope X5, another reason I wanted to shirk duties and get outside.  Needed some play time with it to figure some things out.  Wasn't the smoothest ride.  It didn't let me collect pins on one hole (#11) and then couldn't enter the score.  I couldn't figure out how to get to pin collect mode, it wasn't in the Game Menu.  Then it just quit after #13.  I had to start the round again.  Somehow it kept the scorecard consistent, but the rounds are separated and I'll need to contact support.  Also, once it's in pin collect mode you apparently can't move the pin position, which somewhat makes sense as it's more for approach distance.  Overall I think it's a good upgrade.  However, it means I have no photos to upload today.  Everyone has been sharing wonderful spring pics of their courses, thanks!
I didn't upload this score for a handicap as I was a single.  I did have someone join me for a few holes on the back 9, but only 4-5.  It certainly would drop me a point had it been a non practice round.
Also, I think this puts me at the top with a -7 and a bunch of net birdies.  This should be a fun summer.

Played the back 9 first, add shot +21, lol. Played the front 9 (our back 9) in +4, including a double on the first. Something clicked after 10, and suddenly I was playing the golf I've been accustomed to since last year. Oh well - amazing day with  awesome buddies.
Round highlight: drove the green on a "308" (per card, but played closer to 280) par 4, and managed a natural birdie. Then lipped out (baaaaad) on the next, which would've been my first birdie-birdie stretch ever. Life goals 😉

(Average lie on my first 9)
(I really love this course. Just gorgeous.)

I started with a baseball grip as well (more years ago than I can count at this point haha).  And transitioned to interlock.  I'm not against the 5 finger grip... I think there are some advantages to it... I just feel more connected to the club face by interlocking.  (I have tried overlap, but my fingers are too short 😕 .
As far as my recent swing changes, I have a nasty habit of creating turn by cocking in my left knee - which then makes it "easy" to start my downswing by an over the top first move (HATE IT).  So I'm working first on getting my left knee bend on the back swing more over my left foot, rather than it moving toward the right foot.  I have noticed a huge difference in ball contact, a more crisp strike, and less glancing due to improved path into the ball... so that has helped my distance a bit as well.  I am still out of position at the top, so that is my next hill to climb... but I think starting with a good beginning base and working systematically through the swing is better than trying to fix the end of the swing, trying to work back to front.  At least that is my current approach.

    S2-Week 2 Set Another Record!!!
63 (SIXTY THREE) individual scores posted which is 10 more than last week.  This is a BLAST!!!.

And in addition to the 63 rounds played within the tourney last week - we have some PLAYERS in our Tour!!

    Final Leaderboard - Page 1

    Page  2

    This Week's Winners:

    Low Net Score
First time member of the VCT @invee123 came to play this week and posted a net 63 (9 under par!!!) at Colorado National GC.  Tremendous round!!!    Welcome to the Tour Invee and Great Playing!!

Not to go without mention - @LinksgolfFever posted a 5 under round of net 67 securing his 2nd place spot, new member of the VCT @Randall Robbins scored a net 67 (4 under) for 3rd place. A 4-way tie for 4th at net 3 under par ( @Javs, @Preeway, @Bohnson, @fozcycle) and a 6-way tie for 5th with scores of net 2 under par ( @Lacassem, @RoverRick, @Alf. S, @Placasse61, @Golfspy_TCB, @Tom the Golf Nut).  And with the 3 way tie at -1, and 8-way tie at net even par... that makes a total of 24 separate rounds at net par or better!!!  I better find a swing coach to compete in this tour!!!
    Quality playing this week everyone!

    Most Birdies or Better
The Net Birdies or Better count was off the charts this week.  Our Low Net winner posted the most with 12 (!!??!!).  But as he is already sporting the Black Jacket Badge this week... the Birdie Badge is awarded to our second place Tour Member... @RoverRick during his round of Gross 77 /  Net 70, posted 11 birdies or better.  That must have been a CRAZY scorecard!!  Congrats Rick!

    Longest Drive
Well, I wondered if it would happen, if we would have another Bomber join our ranks and give the long time VCT Members some additional competition in the Longest Drive category.... This week ... @Bohnson answered my question with a resounding:

@bohnson recorded (what I believe to be the longest drive of our VCT history) a 345 yard drive on his way to shooting 3 under par gross (yep... gross).  Ummmm... not sure what to say here....
    🤯
Had it not been for that drive... @snicerz and @PMookie would have been pulling out the measuring tape to see which of their 334 yard drives had an extra few inches over the other... This could be the most competitive category in the VCT over the coming weeks!

    Ladies on the VCT!

I also want to give a special shout out to @BKervin and @Tijoli; our two Women members of the VCT (with hopefully many more to come).  @BKervin was a model of consistency, posting two scores this week both at Net Even Par!  And @Tijoli posting two scores... the second round resulting in a 7 stroke improvement over the first round!!  I look for their names at the top of the leaderboard in Week 3!!

Awesome week of scores everyone and thank you all for your participation in the MyGolfSpy Forum Member Weekly Virtual Championship Tour.  I hope you all are having as much fun as I am!!

Congrats!  I was a tester at the end of last season for the Titelist balls and had a blast!  Love to see how these balls perform, especially given the completely different construction.  I personally fell in love with the new V1x and cringe when I can't find any in my bag.  Can either of these be a contender?
