  1. Good morning! Gotta get work started early as I need to knock off a little early for a late afternoon tee time. Have a great a Saturday eve! Edit: forgot to note that my new to me (pre-owned) Sub 70 699U and braided belt are supposed to arrive today. that they arrive before my round.
  2. I can’t either. MSRP for the Puma Proadapt Alphacats that are on the way to me now was in the mid-$100s. They are now $100 and I also used $10 in Golf Galaxy rewards to get them to $90. Sweet spot for shoes for me! The Nitron is awesome!
  3. I was thinking Lowry as well (though I would be fine if he put a victory off by a week).
  4. Every Thursday at 4pm ET. There is a link at the top of this page to join.
  5. Great to hear! I was looking at the Adidas CodeChaos and some others as well.
  6. I planned to use an umbrella with my cart last Friday, then it actually rained. I have a 3:50 tee time this Friday and will be trying it out. If I like it, I’ll look into the UV umbrellas.
  7. Pulled trigger on my father's day gift (new golf shoes of my choosing):
  8. I often struggle to have a dry round…even when it’s not raining!
  9. Good Morning! Perfectly nice morning to sip coffee and shop for golf shoes (my Father’s Day present this year was new golf shoes of my choosing). Currently looking at the Adidas CodeChaos 22 in either white or grey or the Puma Proadapt Alphacat in grey or blue. Have a great day all! @sirchunksalot Have a great day and good luck with your round (I hope you take down all challengers)! Hopefully there are no cones in the middle of your fairways getting in the way.
  10. For sure. And I feel for Nyck, but I am a Daniel Ricciardo fan. Great news for me.
  11. Wow! Hadn’t seen that yet.

    Sub70 golf

So, after I popped my head in this thread again, I ended up back on Sub70’s website and now a used 699U is headed my way…
  13. Our member-guest and other tournaments do have fees associated. Not really an issue for me at this time as I am just playing for myself and trying to improve my game
  14. Totally understand that! We moved here after I switched careers from engineering to law and finished law school. At that time we already had our two kiddos (one is now in college). It is a good place to raise a family.
  15. I hear you. My initiation fee was a fraction of that. We stay open year around. And the fact that we currently currently have less than 500 members means I can get a tee time the same day in most cases. Maybe we have a bit of a unicorn here.
  16. I agree that each club is different. And I am probably lucky to have an option near me that includes what it does for the price. There is a fee for using a cart (or an annual subscription for a flat fee), but I prefer to walk. Other than that, the range, the spectacular short game practice area, massive practice green, and uncapped walking golf (and tees) are all included. I also failed to mention a very nice pool (we have a neighborhood pool that is more convenient), fitness center, and (soon) pickle ball courts. One downside that I failed to mention is of course the dreaded closure of the course for several months every so many years for renovation, major maintenance, etc. During this time there are other courses where you can play, but not your home course. A friend of mine at a pricier club in town went through that this year, (reopening September 1) and we will go through it next summer.
  17. Happy Tuesday! Just finished off a second cup of coffee, emailing Sub 70 to add a belt to a recent order, and watching Sportscenter. Jumping on the Peloton for 30 minutes then off to work...
  18. I just sent @GolfSub70 an email asking to add one of their Braided Stretch Belts to my used 699U order if its not too late. For $15, you can’t go wrong. https://www.golfsub70.com/braided-stretch-belt.html
  19. Not speaking for @Jim Shaw, but many kids of local high school teams are members of our club as well as some on college teams (member who is on UNC Wilmington's women's team helped with clinic I mentioned above). I see them out there practicing regularly. Also during my recent lesson, the Pro pointed out a guy on the range as a reference for what he was teaching (and noted that the guy, who also works with the Pro, plays competitively in senior events). That said, it is also benefitting my game due to increased practice and play. Also, by knowing the course well I can concentrate more on executing each shot as opposed to figuring out what shot to hit. Who benefits more? I don't know. But I think there are benefits for all.
  20. And today (been looking at this guy for a while; saw a used one and snatched it):
  21. Grabbed some Kirkland V3s at Costco yesterday. Will break them out on Friday.
  22. I picked up a box of V3s at Costco on Sunday. Looking forward to trying them out on Friday. I had been playing Maxfli Tours back when you could get the deals (4 dozen for $100). I am hoping the V3s will take their place.
  23. I totally understand your first point. With respect to feeling comfortable at private courses, there is a fairly broad spectrum (e.g. initiation fees from $1k to $40k+). As a member of one on the lower end of that scale, our club has members from all walks of life and, at least in my experience, everyone is welcomed. Members who don't want to socialize can easily keep to themselves and just use the facilities to play/practice.
