I was hoping someone would have some recommendations regarding upgrading my driver. I have been hitting a 9 degree Ping G10 with a grafalloy pro launch red for the past 10+ years. I finally have the money to upgrade my bag this year and I’m starting to look into the driver market. I did an iron fitting earlier this year and was placed into mizuno jpx 921 HM with a KBS c taper x-stiff (still waiting for delivery but hoping I hit them well). I don’t know my driver swing speed but my 6 iron at that fitting was averaging 92 MPH.
Regarding my game, I’m current a 9.8 handicap. This year I have been carrying the driver roughly 285-290. When hit well it has been a small draw but my miss has become a toe hook of sorts that carries into the left rough. Ball flight is medium height that starts slightly right and begins turning left about halfway through the flight.
I’m not overly concerned with gaining a lot of distance but am hoping to take advantage of the new technology to hit more fairways.
Any suggestions on shafts and club heads would be much appreciated!
