  1. Mentally preparing myself for yet another meeting with a client site, thinking to myself, 98% chance this could have been an email. That's assuming they even bother to show up in the first place. I'm not sure I understand the mentality of people that want help and solutions but then freeze when it comes to actually implementing fixes. I've already burned through my allocated hours through June for this customer and still no closer to getting them to actually do anything about the recommendations they have been given.

    Cooking

I must be lucky. I've got a really good ramen place about 2 miles from my office. One of our go-to places when my wife meets me for lunch if our schedules work out. Also found a good place in Florida last time I had to go for work. I will make it at home too but I haven't used our pressure cooker to make the broth so it tends to be long day weekend dinner.

    Cooking

My daughter had recently refused to eat curry. Not sure why because she likes all of the individual ingredients that are in it when I make it, but maybe it's the smell. Either way, instead of serving the curry with sweet potatoes in it over rice, I made it the base and covered it in mashed potatoes for a Japanese curry shepherds pie. After I told her what she ate, her response was, "I will never trust anything you cook ever again." I'm pretty sure this counts as a victory as an adult over a kid.
  4. Currently still the PXG Gen 4 XF 10.5 head turned down to 9.5 with the Motore X F3 shaft. Not going to lie though, it's on the chopping block this year if it doesn't shape up. Possibly a low spin head is in the future for me if things keep going the way they are.
  5. Tough one. Despite playing almost a full PXG bag, the driver is definitely the weak spot there for me. Wedges were replaced with the Indi test but it was a marginal victory. I think I would probably go Taylormade or Ping personally. Aside from the Stealth, I've always hit the woods from both companies pretty well, and something like the P790/P770 irons would work. Wedges are solid for both, and I absolutely love the Spider putter. Cobra I can't seem to get on board with the putter and wedges, Mizuno tends to be weaker with the long game clubs, etc. I will probably one of the only people to ever say this, but I would vote Titleist out purely because I just don't get along with Vokey wedges. No explanation for it, just the way I am. Srixon/Cleveland would be another high option for me if I could find the right driver and putter. The original ZX5 driver didn't do it for me and I can't say I know enough about the putter options there to say anything would appeal. Fairway, hybrid, irons, and wedges would be set though.
  6. "I apologize in advance for making you guys all listen to me speak for the next two hours." I think I will begin all presentations in the future this way. I'm absolutely exhausted and only halfway through this day. I think it's safe to say that public speaking is not my thing.
  7. Working on the driver right now. I've been struggling with the driver recently, mostly either pushing it to the right or big hooks. Found out my club path is around 8-10 degrees in to out with driver, which would explain a lot of that. Shorter clubs I'm somewhere between 1 degree in to out to maybe 0.5 degree out to in depending on the club and shot. So that is going to be my big thing to work on for awhile.
  8. Another one of those days with the clients. I legitimately question why they request training for the operators, when the management staff is the primary problem with how things are run. The operators by now know how the equipment should be run, but obviously they are going to do what their boss says to do. Also, after four different downtime events at a single plant adding up to around 20 hours of downtime, I want to slap this sticker onto every single surface I can find around the plant. Maybe on the inside of safety glasses as well just to make sure they don't miss it. This is mainly due to the frustration of a client that refused to wait the 45 minutes for the repair to cool and set properly, so they started up the equipment and immediately not only ripped the original repair, but broke the belt in a second place. Not just once, but twice. What's the quote? Do it right or do it twice? In this case, let's make it thrice? I'm not making bitter grumble sounds at all over here.
  9. Sounds about where my comfort zone is. I'm not a fan of 210+ yard par 3s, and if the course is tight I would rather play shorter tees. My typical course is 6000-6200 depending on which of the 9s you get put on from the middle tees. It can get up to around 6800 from the back but that doesn't really change the course much in terms of approach to the greens. So many of the holes limit the tee shot with some sharp dog legs so the only big difference is what club am I hitting to the corner. I'm left with a mid-short iron to the green either way depending on the hole. Most of the par 3s become long enough to no longer be any fun for me though. If I'm paired up with other people and they want to play shorter tees, I'll generally join them, and if they want to play tees further than my comfort zone, I'll play up and not feel guilty about it.
  10. Correct. Standard setting is the most upright PXG adapter can get. Any adjustment away from the standard is going to flatten the lie angle.
  11. Also remember on the PXG adapter, depending on which way it turns, it also affects the lie angle by either 0.5 or 2.5 degrees. So an 8 degree turned to 9 degree will have different lie angle and different face angle compared to a straight 9 degree head. Add in some movable weights and the fitters have all kinds of options.
  12. Looking at drivers again/still. Killed some time thanks to my delayed flight hitting some drivers and goodness my PXG spins like crazy sometimes. Even without a super high swing speed, I look like a candidate for low spin driver heads. Everything else in the bag is staying for the foreseeable future with nothing drastically outperforming what I already have.
  13. Last day of work in Florida today. Trying to power through finalizing some reports before I head back. Looking forward to going home, but it's nice to actually see a few of my co-workers instead of sitting in Teams meetings with them all the time. Also, at least this time no one asked if I actually work here. Yes, that has happened the last three trips I've been here at least one person has asked me I'm new or even an employee. Apparently I look like the type of guy that would randomly walk into a break room and get coffee from a place I don't work at? News to me.
  14. Interesting. I can think of a few reasons that they would swingweight out that close and one would feel lighter, but no one wants to hear me soapbox my complaints about golf's definition of swingweight and how it's wrong to use a static measurement for this.
  15. The golf gods were not kind today. Walked off with an 87 and felt like I went a few rounds with a boxer. The course layout did not feel like it was particularly tough, but it seems the greenskeeper woke up in a bad mood because the pin placements were absolutely ridiculous on a few holes. The greens were crazy fast with large breaks, and nothing was a straight putt. I missed a couple 1 and 2 foot putts because I'm not used to playing 6 inches of break for an 18 inch putt. I struggled from the 80-100 yard range today. For some reason the full swing wedges just weren't hitting the distances I'm used to. The guys I were paired up with play the course often and they were saying the pin placements were just mean today. Side note, we didn't get on the course until 45 minutes past our tee time because they were backed up due to a lack of carts. All the while the staff is making jokes about the graveyard of carts that need to be repaired hanging out in the building. Even if Florida didn't have a ton of other courses to choose from, I can't say I'd go back to that one. The guys I was paired up with were awesome though.
  16. All I can say, is that I am very glad I had my tee time at 1:20 instead of later. I say this because I got my round finished right at 5:00pm. There was a group coming off at the same time packing up their vehicle that went out at 2:00pm. Three hours for them to play 9! I would have absolutely lost my mind. Apparently the course was letting groups of 5 go out there and let's just say those groups were not moving things along. Having said that, new course to me and I'm not quite sure how to take it. I honestly felt pretty frustrated while on the course. More of a links style and it was windy, so I was having a tough time getting my distances right, especially into the wind. Getting that out of the way, when I finished the round and tallied the score, I legitimately shouldn't complain at all. Finished out with a 78 for my second best score ever, and had my first eagle thanks to a 22 yard pitch that found the cup. As expected, the 50 degree Indi wedge came to the rescue. It wasn't a pretty round, but I guess at the end of the day the scorecard doesn't care what the trip looked like.
  17. Realized I didn't set my bag up with the right golf balls for the weekend in Florida so went to the golf shop this morning that was a few minute walk from my hotel and grabbed a dozen TM TP5x to try out. They also had a black Nike shirt on clearance that I grabbed.
  18. The time difference from home is starting to wear on me. Staying up later so that I can talk to the family and then waking up earlier to start work early is drastically reducing my usual amount of sleep. On the positive, the weather is good and I've got rounds scheduled for both days this weekend.
  19. Fly from California to Florida for work yesterday. Check. Wake up at 4am in Florida to renew required safety training. Check. Sit for the next 5 hours waiting for the plant to startup. Ugh, check. Book tee times for the weekend while waiting. That counts as productivity right?
  20. I have PW, then 50, 54, and 58 degree wedges. PW is almost strictly full shots with the occasional use for greenside chips. 50 degree is the general go-to wedge for me on everything inside of PW range. I'll go to the higher lofts if I need the extra height or need to make sure the ball stops faster, but I'm personally more comfortable taking a little off the 50 degree than I am taking a full swing with the 58. I don't have a good explanation for it, because I'm a pretty analytical person, outside of sports, then I suddenly become a quirky feel-based person. It's almost like my brain decides that sports are a time when it thinks it should shut down and I just roll with it. That's why things like the clock swing system never really seemed to click with me.
  21. Looking forward to the reviews in these. Make us proud testers.
  22. Haven't gotten to play as much as I want recently, but still keeping the Indi's in the bag. Completely nitpick thing is that I do still prefer the sound from my PXG wedges, but nothing to say against the performance. The 50 still tends to be my go to club for short game unless I need to use one of the others. I've always been that way though so it's nothing against the wedges, I just feel most comfortable with a 50 degree wedge.
  23. Funny you mention that. She already has a week long trip to Disney World planned for later this year. Probably won't be able to play that off as future payment though. I'm definitely taking my clubs with me. Need something to do over the weekend while I'm there.
  24. How expensive of a gift do I need to prepare in advance to break the news to my wife that I have to travel to Florida for 2 weeks at the end of the month? I was in Texas for a week in January and she responded by being at Disneyland for 4 days this week. I'm a bit scared of how much 2 weeks in Florida is going to cost me.
  25. Taking a break from a 6 hour meeting at the moment. I'm absolutely dying here trying to keep my mouth shut. My sarcasm is just itching to come out and I know this isn't the best place for that. The struggle is real.
