I may have been one of those guys that took a little too much off a tip with the belt sander back in the day... Was one of the first times I installed a graphite shaft and I was using my own driver for practice. It was an old ProForce V2 shaft that had a ton of paint on it that I was removing. Sure enough I took off too much and the head came loose my next round. Lucky for me the head didn't go flying but I was going off the tee with my 4 wood for the rest of the round. Know what they say. You will always learn far more from your mistakes than your successes. I never made that mistake again and couldn't even count the number of graphite shafts I worked on after that.

Well, I've got no experience there - so I'm far too trusting...  He said some folks use a belt sander, but he won't because that can make the shaft uneven - could take off more than just the paint on one side.  Anyway, it was all interesting.  I'm sure he thought I was a little crazy for wanting to watch, but I explained what was going on and he said "come on in" - just didn't know he was going to get peppered with so many questions.

Evening spies.  Couldn't get on the site earlier today due to my "light duty" workload.  It's 10000% worse when the senior staff knows they can pawn off reports and remedial task stuff they don't want to do. I should have just asked my doc for an absentee excuse instead.   😆 at least then I could be at the range or on the course even

Good evening all. Managed to get out for 18 today and hit the driver much better than yesterday but to be fair it couldn’t really have been much worse than then. I’m really loving the  Cobra FT irons and they continue to shine. 9.55 strokes gained on approach play with 40% of approach shots hitting the green. Finished gross +8 so was happy.

It's still morning here on the west coast, and I'm looking at highs of 107 for the next three days. The AC in the office still isn't able to keep up so it gets up near 90 in the office by the afternoon. The sunburn is on its way to healing, but still a little sore. Haven't had the motivation to bear the discomfort in the feet long enough to make it to the gym this week but I'll get there eventually. I'm considering it a stroke of luck that this week I'm working on training material and my class so client visits are not my priority at the moment.

Ended up having to call an ambulance for my FIL tonight. He was having a lot of problems breathing and by the time the ambulance arrived his oxygen levels were in the low 80s. My wife was on her way home from work so that's what she arrived home to see. She went to the hospital with him and now we are all just waiting. It's weird to see these kinds of things in person.

Can't stand perfectly good food going to waste and I had some leftover pumpkin salted caramel from my daughter's baking project, so today's breakfast... Soufflé pancakes with previously mentioned sauce and berries.

Having traveled extensively in the Air Force (flight crew) and for my job, the allure of travel, post 911, has been lost for me.  I have only flown 3x since retiring in 2016 and this last $hit$how has done nothing but cemented my lack of desire to fly.

That’s what happened a couple times to me, but I played a few holes before league started played horrible, then league teed off and next thing you know I was 3 under and won some skins.

    Good morning everyone.
Yesterday was quite the wild day of travelling with a few sprints through 2 different airports. My flight was at 11:58PM Tuesday night from Vegas and last minute they changed my gate to the opposite side of the concourse. so me and my beer filled belly sprinted to that gate only to find out it was 3 gates away from that one.... the cherry on top was sitting on the tarmac for 50 minutes to burn off fuel for the right payload for takeoff. now after all of that my connection was now in jeopardy. Nothing like a 7Am sprint across the entire Detroit airport to just barely make the connecting flight.
This reminds me why I don't like travelling often.
Spent most of yesterday catching up on work and eventually went to bed around 7 and got a much needed 12 hours of sleep to get back to it today.
    Have a great Thursday everyone!

Dipped my toes in the surf this morning while beachcombing. It was a tad nippy. I believe I'm a degree or two north of you in Denmark.

Good morning spies! Had a decent round yesterday, 41/41. The guys I played with had a 0 and a 3 for handicaps, so gaining strokes was tough in a net game. We had 5 holes were we got strokes. That meant we needed birdies, lots of birdies. I had 2, the 0 guy had 5, and the 3 guy did have any. We didn't win. Plus none of our birdies stood up in the skins game.
Going to be hot again today. Accuweather says 115. I am going for a ride this morning before it gets too hot. I put the tonneau cover on yesterday and it was 114 degrees in my garage at the time.
    Have a great day everyone!

And here I thought @JohnSmallswas the forums king of gifs/memes.  Of course that was during a particularly good Cobra Challenge when Queensberry Rules were left at the entrance to the octagon, duck boats were seen floating around Boston, and rotation-maximus was a qualifying skillset  🤣.

Good morning spies! A bit of a slow start to my morning with no golf this morning. I'm playing in league tonight, so I thought I would take the morning off. I'm about to take the dog for a walk and then working on some school. I'm excited to play in league tonight and feel confident with my game. I'm hoping that I can report with some good information this afternoon! To all of you who are playing today, swing it well!
    Have an amazing day!

Thanks @rkj427!! Only was able to get in 9 holes, rain was coming & it did, just as we made the turn. Perfect timing!  At least I was able to start work earlier with zero commute!  Have a Great Day!

Good morning, Spies!!! Happy Thursday to all!!
A beautiful morning here, with lots of sunshine mixed with lots of humidity. Ugh. This will be the exact weather at tee time on Sunday, which will suck. It's only mid 60's right now, but 87% humidity just makes it yuck. Not sure what I was thinking when I decided to come back to the Midwest. 😉
Quiet day on the schedule today, but I do have a few things to do that should help keep me occupied until the community call.
I need to get to the range and break in the new Mizuno woods before we play, and definitely before the member-member in 4 weeks. Would like to know if that ST-Max 230 driver is going to be better than the mini's I've been playing. The FW/hybrids should be pretty easy to adapt to as those spots in the bag have always been my best, regardless of what make/model was there. It was Taylormade for a long time, then Sub70 took over. Now it'll be Mizuno for the time being. But as always, we'll see how the perform and go from there.
Well, I need to grab some cereal. Everyone have a fantastic day!!

Good Thursday morning, golfers!  It is an off day of golf for me as my Lil Dumpling has a long list of chores for me to accomplish.  But first I need to have another cup of coffee and catch up on some forum reading.  Yesterday afternoon, a bird flew into our garage and even with the garage doors open, it couldn't find the way out.  After I returned home from golf league, my wife googled for help and it recommended turning off the lights and use brooms to herd the trapped bird toward an exit.  It would have made an amusing video of us trying to help the poor bird break out of garage jail.  Finally, the exhausted bird landed on the front of my shirt and I walked outside where it took off for freedom.
