  1. I use a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Golf pad Gps app. I find it reliable, it tracks every shot and learns how far I hit each club so it recommends which club to hit.
  2. Request adding Tour Edge for the budget conscious and XXIO for the slower swingers
  3. I've also used swing U with my Galaxy watch 6. I actually prefer another app called Golf Pad. Golfpad works well independtly from the phone, automatically tracks all my shots and keeps score. I find the gps on the watch to be fairly accurate within a couple of yards.
  4. Just got fitted for XXIO-12 irons 7-AW. At 69 and a slower swing golfer these really match up well with my swing. Very forgiving and I've gained distance and accuracy. I highly recommend that sub 90mph swingers give them a try.
  5. As a working musician I love music, however it becomes my primary focus and is extremely distracting when performing other tasks like golf, so my vote is no music. For those that like to have some music while playing, get some Bluetooth ear buds. Most have an ambient sound feature that lets in surrounding sounds or just wear one earbud if the ambient feature isn't good enough. If they insist on music, I'd bring a play list of the most annoying music possible. Start with children's music like Alven and the Chipmunks then progress through until you get to Yoko Ono screeching.
  6. I would also recommend XXIO for your short list of clubs to try. I'm a slow swinging golfer at 69 years of age and had the pleasure of demoing them at a demo day set-up here. In addition to being very light weight they also counter balance the shaft. While they might not be a match for you, they're certainly something to look at. They're really gaining a fan base around here in the Florida retirement golfing communities.
  7. I use golfpad. It syncs up great with my Samsung Galaxy Watch, tracks all my shots, gives good analytics, keeps score and has pretty accurate distance to green.
  8. I think that's a shame because higher handicap and senior golfers are a huge market.
  9. I play the Tour Edge Hot Launch 3 series from several years ago and find them to be easy and consistent. I'm certainly in their target demographic being a guy that started social golf upon retirement. While my game is now improved and I can step up to game improvement rather than super game improvement, I'd be interested to see how these stack up with tour edge's current hot launch lineup.
  10. I'm also very interested in the 2022 Prime. I have the Prime 3 wood and 5 hybrid. Both are great performers and a perfect match for my senior swing.
  11. I'm also a high handicapper with a slow swing and was fitted into a Ping 425sft. I'm absolutely loving this club. I'm finding the fairways much more often with this club and even most of my misses are in play. The more I play this club, the more confidence I have and am loving my decision to get it. The forgiveness on off center and toe hits is amazing. I tried the Sim2 max and Epic Max, both seem like great clubs, but the Ping just feels better to me and is much more consistent and accurate with my goofy swing.
  12. I use Golfpad along with my Samsung Galaxy watch. It's great for shot tracking and club suggestions and the watch can be used in standalone mode so distance is tracked by the watch so I leave my phone in the bag.
  13. Hi, I'm Rex. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I retired about 5years ago and moved to Florida for retirement. I took up golf upon retirement. Normal score is about 100, but I hope to improve on that. What do you love about golf? I like the social aspect, and just getting out on a beautiful course What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I've been reading the reviews for a couple of years now. Where are you from? What is your home course? I'm from Illinois. My home course is Citrus Hills Oaks about an hour and a half north of Tampa What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The best is the great weather in the winter. The worst is the summer heat What do you do for a living? Retired, enjoying golf and cycling. I worked as an electrical engineer prior to this.
