  1. I guess I am in the minority on this, yes i use a line on the ball, you can't convince me that the average person has a better view of the line looking down, sideways, and with one eye at a different angle than having both eyes level and behind the ball looking at the hole. Once you have it lined up you just need to worry about the speed of the putt, of course you need to hit it square, but that is true no matter how you line it up. I could be wrong, but most pro's I see putting on TV, line their putt up with a line on their ball from behind, certainly not all but a majority. In my opinion putting is hard enough, taking the 2nd guessing out of lining up your putt while standing over your ball just seems to make a difficult process easier.
  2. I am in the same boat, I have a galaxy watch with the app installed. I had a hard time inputting my clubs, forgetting, and as you say the phone is distracting. I'm going to try the tags and see how it goes after a few rounds. If after a few months I am not happy I guess I will try V3. Thank you again everyone for your input.
  3. Honestly, what I would like to see is those that have used Arccos for a good period of time be the testers. More than likely anyone using any ot tbe gps/shot trackers will be impressed, but will those that have used arccos find shot scope v3 to be just as good, better, or worse. V3 looks like a one time cost compared to an annual 99 dollar subscription with Arccos. Just my 2 cents.
  4. NCDuffer I use the app and I like it, I do find it difficult trying to input my club data on the course using just the app. I was hoping if I got the tags it would make things much easier. I have found it really hard to find comparisons between golf pad tags and arccos, I know that arccos has become the standard but I am not going to pay the subscription every year, and from what I read, golf pad seems to have most of the analytics that you get with arccos just not in comparison with other, their database of users seems much larger. I thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
  5. I guess i will take a look at shotscope V3, thank you all for the response.
  6. How many other sports can you compete against yourself and actually get better in your 40's, 50's and beyond compared to your younger self? I am sure I am like many here, I tore my body up in my youth, but bad knees, back, and hip, but I can still swing my clubs. I sure as hell wouldn't want to get on a football field or play any kind of serious baseball in my 60's, but I can still swing my clubs.
  7. Is anyone using the Golf Pad Tags? I am thinking of getting them, they are 99 dollars compared to 179 for Arccos. Most of the reviews for for the Golf Pad Tags are positive, the biggest complaint being that you need to have your phone on you at all times to tap the club to the phone. Arccos is considerable more money to start and then 99 dollars a year for the subscription to the app compared to 20 for the Golf Pad premium app. All of that said, what are mygolfspy users opinions of either Golf Pad tags or Arccos? Thanks
  8. Wailua, LIHUE, HI (26) I was lucky to play this course a few weeks ago while visiting family. Beautiful views, well maintained, It was raining, windy and I was no match for the course. But I had a great time nonetheless.
  9. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I played for a few years in my late 30's, scored usually in the mid 90's sometimes lower, may times higher. I went through a divorce in my early 40's, priorities changed and I am now just starting to play again at the age of 60. What do you love about golf? The fact that no matter how old you get you can still compete against yourself and your last round What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I found the sight while looking for reviews on clubs at the beginning of 2021, and just recently started watching the mygolfspy videos on youtube. No I don't know any other spies Where are you from? What is your home course? I live in Los Angeles, I don't have a home course but I can play plenty of courses in southern california What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best is weather, worst I would just have to say probably applies to just about everywhere, the price and how long it can take sometimes to play a round What do you do for a living? I work for a local utility How’d you pick your user name? It is what my buddies call me and the day of the month I was born
