  1. I am between mid & high SS but closer to mid and am a low spin player across all the clubs in my bag. Between winning a Ballnamic fitting, the results here, and some of my own experimenting- I have my top 4 going forward for continued tinkering: 1. Chromesoft X 2. Pro V1x 3. Srixon Z Star Diamond (current gamer) 4. Maxfli Tour X Between price and not having truly superior performance elsewhere, the Bridgestone B X barely missed the cut. Really look forward to finding my ball from these over the next months
  2. I had a similar question as OP as I was looking to get more info on the Ventus Red (Non-Velo) on the OG Stealth 3W. Price was too good to pass up and bought without trying but will hopefully get to the range in the next week or so to try out. Thanks for the info!
  3. *Twirls the sleeve of balls* ahhhh a '98 DT, excellent year, great choice sir
  4. The only time I adjust for weather is when it is crazy windy, I will play a lower trajectory ball in those situations
  5. I have the same relationship with my 58m and currently have a 54d. I am pretty shallow with my wedges so curious if M for both would be an improvement
  6. This advert is COMPLETED!

Had a Shot Scope V3 but the watch is broken, I still have the tags which I understand work with any SS watch. Looking to replace, price is for used in very good condition- if otherwise willing to negotiate. I will also pay for reasonable shipping on top of this. Thank you!

    $50

  7. Hi all, have used the SS V3 the past couple seasons and really enjoyed my experience so far. Freak accident but broke the watch and looking to replace, not sure if anyone was sitting on an used V3 watch they no longer need but I would be interested in buying. PM me if interested, hopefully I can come back and contribute when I have a working watch again haha. UPDATE: Thanks to a very generous Spy, I will be back in business soon. Cannot say enough good things about this community!
  8. Would be very surprised if a coating offered the same performance but definitely interesting. I have a very hard time believing that if there is much cost savings to be had, that a significant portion would be passed to the customer. The ERC Soft are already $40
  9. I understand that they have a new urethane coating but its still an ionomer cover on a super soft ball. Still would be interesting to see the difference!
  10. This summer has been the culmination of winning a Ballnamic fitting, conducting my own personal testing, and will wrap with result from the 2023 Ball test. I am very interested to see if the test confirms what I have seen in my own experience and the data from Ballnamic!
  11. I would see the matching 3 wood as a starting place for testing or a fitting but I would not immediately assume that it is going to be a great fit. As others have mentioned, it also depends on what you need from the club in terms of gapping, forgiveness, primary function (tee/fairway), trajectory, etc. I have used the fact that it was the matching 3W as the tiebreaker before when I was getting almost identical performance from two options while testing
  12. Have had the 585s in my bag for 3 seasons now and love them, it will probably be at least 2-3 more years before I reevaluate irons and the first place I look will likely be Srixon and Sub70
  13. In scrambles its either Velocity or Tour Speed off the tee, they are the longest I have found
  14. I have been playing around with choking down so far this season and its seems to have tightened dispersion a bit so far. Will be checking out that driver tune up video, going to get some hard numbers soon and will certainly try shorter shafts the next time I get fit.
  15. I think Tony posted them awhile back too but this "high tech company" selling their golf balls for $250/dz. They are made of "Amorphous Metal Alloy" that are "more accurate and fly further than any other golf ball" https://attomaxgolf.com/products/attomax-matt?variant=43183470248165&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=CjwKCAiAxvGfBhB-EiwAMPakqqzemgpZcAP5KPBRuKLL-NO0SGWtJT7CqMbtH93ceB8OZKoiZKP5TBoCAScQAvD_BwE
  16. The honestly like the look of the PXG ball a lot, however I am going to hold off and wait for the ball test data or for a friend to buy them before trying them out myself. Like others have mentioned, the Snell's/Maxflis of the world have gotten solid enough quality and performance that it would likely take the PXG ball to match the ProVI for me to consider moving off the DTCs and Srixon for $28-$32 at the current price point
  17. Agreed, glad I bought the box of 4dz for $105 when they had it!
  18. Today, we are here to honor a thread unlike any other on MGS. This thread made us laugh... cry... pull our hair out in frustration trying to tease out the tiniest of differences between golf balls (Greg). But most of all, this thread was a super entertaining offseason journey. We came as golfing strangers and leave as better informed golfers and friends. I would like to thank @Thin2win for volunteering to hit thousands of golf shots and posting it online for us, even on Thanksgiving. I would also like to thank.... wait...
  19. This was great to follow along during the "offseason" and more than happy to help contribute to your testing! Obviously everyone is different but it was pretty eye opening to see really similar performance in the balls above with your consistency. Very kind to send a sample platter, look forward to doing some of my own testing with much less consistency haha
  20. Interesting, I usually play Srixon XVs and Maxfli Tours on sims and they usually last a long time before showing signs of deteriorating
  21. Interesting that he saw low spin on driver, these are typically the highest spinning urethane balls and have been holding them back on driver distance in the past. Think that they are a great value for the $ for those looking for a deal but don’t think this video convinced me they are on the same level as others yet.
  22. Will echo that Left Dot is the best ball I have ever hit in the wind. Low trajectory was super penetrating, handled into the wind and crosswinds better than any other I have used. Srixon XV and Snell MTB-X have been solid as well
