I am in for either Deer Ridge or Ashland, both are closer to me than Apple Valley.

Looks like Deer Ridge would actually be 30min shorter. That sounds good to me. Plus i can snag some Massey's Pizza on the way home lol.
You might want to call them up and make sure they don't have anything going on that weekend like Apple did...

Stonelick is also over $100 before 2pm on weekends but it is an amazing venue.
I was actually thinking about arranging a fall meet up there after the prices drop down.
I'm still in as long as the drive doesn't get too crazy. It would have been ~3hrs to Apple from here and that's probably about my limit.

Sounds like one of my favorite courses, The Vineyard in Cincy(though it's not quite that tight). If any of you haven't been, and you are in the area, it's a must play. Probably not too many, if any, courses better for $47 w/cart during peak hours.

brutal brutus got a reaction from knightsofnii in My Titleist TSi3: Will it be True Love?... or a Toxic Relationship?...
Played several times in the last 2wks and I'm in a really good groove with this driver, atm... not to mention my game is grooving also.
Shot 37 and 41 at the "muni" last week and 43, 43+47=90 Sunday and Tuesday at Legendary in high winds. Then topped it off with a 42 on the front at The Vineyard yesterday.
I've been mashing drives with both the TSi2 3w and my Tsi3. Pretty much anything I hit with the 3w is just stripped down the middle or somewhere close. Still struggling with it off the deck but it's more than impressive off the tee. I think that club and I were meant for each other and I am so glad that I, half-jokingly, asked what kind of deal they could give me on it. Had no idea they would knock it down as much as they did and basically forced me to buy it. With my normal swing, it has the tightest little draw on it but I can still open it up a bit and hit some nice cut shots. Haven't messed with the settings or the shaft and it even had my favorite grip on it.
That one truly is a love affair.
On to the Big Dawg and man has it been eating. While I'm still getting the occasional block to the right and snap hook(the torment of the amateur, LOL), for the most part, I've been hitting it really well. It's been fairly windy here lately, so the distances have been up and down, but I've been in the 280-300 range on many drives over those five rounds.
I had a bad case of the "Keep your head down stupid"s on the tee box when I started playing again last year. I was topping drives all over the place and, tbh, there were many days I seriously thought about quitting again. It was very frustrating and especially so when I would get grouped up with people I didn't know. I think it was around the time I got the TSi2 that I started turning a corner. After not really liking the 915D3 the shop loaned me, I used it sparingly in December, mostly on holes I needed to have more distance to have a realistic shot into the green. So I used the 3w off the tee most of the time until it finally got cold. Like I said above, that club and I pretty much instantly clicked with one another and I finally stopped thinking about it and started to loosen up on the tee.
Then I took all of Jan thru mid Feb off.
My driver finally arrived and I did my fitting on Valentine's Day. We had another mild weather spell a week or so later and I went to the range. I think I first noticed it that day. After I warmed up, I was swinging a lot more freely and with more speed than I've had since my return. I'd been so focused on making smooth controlled swings to help keep from lifting my head, that I rarely ripped into a drive. But slowly over the last month+, I've been leaning into it more and more. Strangely, I think I make more consistent solid contact on the drives I really try to rip one on. I think I'm not quite clearing my hips thru sometimes when I'm just using the "fairway finder" swing.
Over the last three rounds, I've hit several quality drives and have even beaten my golfing buddy, who is typically hitting a iron or two less into the green than I, a couple times when we both hit good drives. This culminated in my longest drive of the year on the ~400yd par4 9th hole at The Vineyard yesterday.
A lot of the time on at that hole, I just hit my 3w. There is a pinch point between a big tree and a fairway bunker right around where my drives hit on an "ok" swing. Pulling the TSi2 leaves me short it but still only 140-150ish to the center. Being in a good mood, and having a decent tailwind, I was feeling frisky and pulled the lumber. Put an aggressive, but not out of control, swing on it and ripped a tight draw right down the center cut. I knew instantly I had hit it really well but couldn't quite see it land in the fading light. I rolled up to it and pulled my rangefinder... I had 75yds to the middle with a front pin location and I estimated the drive rolled out to 315 or so, maybe 320. I was actually a bit shocked as I took relief from the sprinkler head marking the center of the fairway.
Needless to say, I no longer have any lingering worry that I should have gotten the Tsi2 driver to go with my 3w.

Just for kicks I looked at Apple Valley on Google Earth. Everything looks fairly wide open (which is great for a guy like me) except 9, 10 and 11. Those 3 holes look very, very narrow. Like we'll almost have to drive carts single file kind of narrow. According to Google, the landing areas we will likely be hitting to are only 25-30 yards wide with thick woods either side of the fairway (and a pond on 11 that would likely take D out of our hands anyway).

brutal brutus reacted to Firebird in Kirkland v2
I finally was able to go to Costco about a month ago as we now live 300kms from the nearest one and picked up a box. Since then I have managed to play 6 rounds with them. Overall I am reasonably impressed. The only negative is the click sound they make when putting which indicates they are harder. However I have found little difference in distance or stopping power compared to my usual ball (Seed 01) or Pro V1’s.
Note: I had not tried a Pro V1x until I found a couple the other day and I have to say that the KIRKLAND’s feel and performance was almost identical.
I still prefer the sound of the Seed off the putter but for the price $48AUD (2 Doz) they are 1/2 the price of the Seed and almost 1/3 the price of Pro V1’s.
Considering the way I am playing lately, I have lost 8 balls in the last 5 rounds I find that these golf balls for the money are excellent value and that the positives out way the one negative.

I have tried the TSi3 the last 2 weeks and I hit a few good shots but I wasn’t consistent enough to play it as intended. It was a 9deg with a Tour AD shaft. Felt great just continued my terrible slice. Not the clubs fault but previously I owned the 915D3 and TS2 just sold them both. Feed back on the TSI3 was phenomenal and would recommend it for a better player. TSi1 may be the model best suited for me due to my tendency to lead my swing with my shoulders. Trying to break that habit.
Over the last 3 months I have played multiple rounds 2 weeks at a time with the Steath, Rouge ST Max, Ping 425 Max, Mizuno STG. COBRA LTDX is on the way.
Currently the Stealth is my favorite but after hitting the STZ220 today I am going to give that shot too hopefully.

I found this on youtube...
Why there isn't a flyover for the front 9 also, I have no idea but it does look like a great course tucked into its beautiful rural setting. Nice choice fellas.

Just messaged Matt and told him I'm in.
How many are definitely in? We going to do dinner afterwards or something?
Oh, I still have the T200s. So if anyone wants details on them, just shoot me a PM.

Just keep an eye on this thread. There won't be any round out, we just run with whoever commits and turns up.
I'll be updating in about 2 weeks.

New to this, but looks like the course is a little over an hour from me. If you need someone to round out a group let me know.

Not sure if this is appropriate to mention in this thread but if I do attend, it's possible I will still have my set of 2019 T200s 4i-GW for sale then. So, if anyone is interested and wants to see them in person, I will bring them.

Strange couple days...
So i heard back from my guy yesterday that Titleist said that my TS3 was out of warranty but they were going to give me a $100 credit towards the purcahse of a new driver. I couldn't really justify paying for a new driver so he was going to give me the 915D and call it even, which was fine by me.
Fast forward a couple hours... I went out to get McDonald's and i stopped at the gas station across the street to buy a couple of those crossword puzzle scratch-offs to help kill time in the ridiculously long lines they have there usually. The line was actually moving pretty quick so i only wound up only scratching one of them off and forgot about the other for a couple hours. I eventually remembered and scratched it... and wound up winning $300. I immediately thought... Hmm, maybe i can afford that driver after all but then thought better of it.
I didn't sleep well overnight(I'm an occasional insomniac) and wound up going out for breakfast real early. Stopped at the same gas station and bought one of the same tickets but out of the lottery machine this time... and won $150, lol... After that, i figured it was meant to be.
So here in a couple weeks i will have a brand new TSi3 with a HZRDUS RDX Black shaft...😁
It's pretty crazy how the last few months have gone. I went from not playing in basically 6yrs and having a bag of 20ish year old clubs, to having a bag that's probably worth close to $2-2.5k....

brutal brutus reacted to Tom the Golf Nut in Post-round cleanup
I posted this somewhere else around here. When I lived on Long Island there was a course down the street called Bergen Point. It was covered In goose droppings. We used womens disposable shower caps on the wheels of our push / pull carts. It became so popular everyone was doing it. Once you get to the parking lot take them off and toss them away. That solves the wheel issues at least. For my golf shoes I kept a plastic tote in my trunk. Shoes went in there until I got home. Either wait for them to dry and clap. You have the option to hose them off while it's still fresh but just remember to keep your mouth shut.🤣

brutal brutus reacted to Kansas King in Post-round cleanup
Goose droppings were a challenge at my old course. The ideal solution would be if there was a relatively easy way to hose off after the round but that isn't always the case. In the past, I generally knock the chucks off the push cart with my foot then take the shoes off and whack them together until the loose stuff falls off. The other option is to embrace the dirtiness and get a cargo tray from your vehicle that is easy to remove and wash.
